Zack brought the apple back and offered her the apple. He sat down next to her. "How long have you lived here? How old are you?" he asked. He had so many questions.

Again she went to talk.But couldn't she sighed.She held the apple in her hand. she moved her face so she could see his figure. She touched the masks lips and shook her head. Please understand She wanted to take her gloves off.

flashback

"Do not touch ANYTHING with your hands child..for they will surley kill you"

She put the apple on the bed and curled up putting her hands around her knee's

"Oh! You can't eat, of course," Zack noticed. "I'm sorry. You're probably mute too, that sucks. hmmmm..., can you write?" he asked, hopeing she could nod or shake her head. He was curious as to why the mask was bolted to her face, but he figured he'd ask later.

She sighed.She could talk..She pointed to her mouth and nodded.But then tapped the mask and shook her head. She sighed. She didn't know ow to write.Her 'father' never tuaght her. She shook er head.Then she remembered te book. She looked under the bed and found the book.It was full of pictures. She opened it to a picture of somone talking.She pointed to it and nodded.  

[Ninja Zackeus]

"You can talk, okay. Well I can play charade's at least. You can't write? Never learn?" he asked. This was almost fun for him.

She shoook her head slowley.She saw her 'father' write before.But never learned. She flipped through the pages.She found a picture of the Great war. [um..lets say its almost as old as he is] She pointed to it. Then flipped to the page of a childs birth.  

[Ninja Zackeus]

"Great war... Birth... You were born during the Great War," he said pieceing the pieces together of what she was trying to say. "Is there anyway to remove the mask? It would make things alot easier," he said lightly.

She shook her head almost violently.She touched the mask.The only way was the key.It was forbidden for her to remove the mask. SHe started flipping through the pages. She pointed to herself then to a picture of an execution.  

[Ninja Zackeus]

"Ah, well we don't want you dead, so we'll leave it on," he stated. He looked at the ground. She was very silent for a girl that said she could talk. "If you can talk, why don't you?" he asked.

She shook her head. SHe pointed to the mask. She pointed to him then to the picture again then to her. you will kill me..just as Father said She thought. She sighed.  

[Ninja Zackeus]

He understood this time. "I won't hurt you in any way, that includes kill you. I promise I will not bring harm to you," he said placeing his hands up in a surrender-like pose. "I promise," he echoed in a whisper.

She hesitated.It had been almost forever since she had the mask off.SHe sighed heavily. She flipped through the pages. She found one with a skeleton and a key.She pointed to the skeleton then the key then him.She lifted her hair on the right side of her face near her temple. The keywhole was there.  

[Ninja Zackeus]

Zack saw the four things she showed him and easily put them together. I have to find the key to unlock your mask, yes? Would you have any clue where the key would be?" he asked. Zack couldn't wait to finally hear a voice other than his own echo through his house.

She thought for several seconds. Where had her 'father' put it? she dropped her hands from the mask as she thought. Then it hit her..though she wasn't sure. She flipped through the pages. She found a chest. She pointed to the chest. It looked like one that her father kept in the basment..though how long ago that was..she wasn't sure.

He looked at the photograph intensly. It looked like it was taken in the basement of THIS house. He got up and ran downstairs, not trying to be rude, but trying to figure out if it was still there. He looked around and there it was, dusty and cobwebbed. He easily opened it without a key from the age getting to it's brittle wood. His vampire strength ensured it's opening easily. He saw a bunch of junk and... a key! A bright golden key. It seemed to not have even rusted, almost magically. He picked it up and carried it back upstairs. "This look like it?" he asked, quite confident about it.
