I salute Toonami in its glory days. I lost its luster around 2000. From then on it just ran straight downhill into a soup of One Piece and Naruto crap.

toonami was so awesome. got to watch the best shows. and when dragon ball z continued past the freeza saga, it was a monumental event at my middle school, EVERYONE talked about it.

Toonami was what first got me into anime hardcore. I spent hours watching some of the best shows. I miss tom and sara and that sweet ship. They changed without asking us, and now sadly like so many other things that which we love always gets taken from us. This new robot is not my tom. To even call themselves toonami anymore would be a sin aganist cartoons. cartoon network has fallen hard, and i dont think that it will ever recover.

Agreed. I remember T.O.M, Sarah, The Absoultion, The Invader, and all of the other things that made Toonami great.

I remember racing home from school every week day to watch sailor moon. When Moltar announced them showing the "lost episodes"

Toonami today is nothing like it was back then, so perhaps it is good that it is coming to a close.

Anime-wise though it was replaced by when they moved anime to adult swim so they wouldn't have to edit it as much. I actually can't believe they ever showed Tenchi Muyo on toonami. XD

I watched it way back in the days when Sailor Moon and Gundam Wing were on. I appreciated when anime went to Adult Swim because it had less editing. But it doesn't matter now, most of what I want comes from the 'net now. wink

I can't believe Toonami is gone. I think I will feel the effects later though, it still hasn't hit me.

Toonami brought anime to me. It was something new that I had never watched before. I remember watching it when it first came out in 1999 and I was hooked until we lost our cable. But seriously, I always looked foward to watching it when I was a teenager. I think it was something that kept me sane through all those awkward years of high school. And it also propelled my fangirlyness of Heero Yuy.

But getting back on topic. I'm sad to see it go. Moreso sad for the younger ones (well not really, they don't know what they're missing) who won't get the experience I did. I think it's awful they tried to market to the younger crowd by changing Tom's appearance. He was fine the way he was. :[ I guess all we have is Adult Swim. But that doesn't make me feel better...

Trust me, it doesn't mention HALF of the show's I wanted it to, but that covers about the first three years or so of Toonami.

I know, It hit me at a later time too. And it first started in 97 (Not that I'm really counting or anything. Hell, I thought it was older than that).

Toonami WAS great in the beginning. I didn't even realize that it was taken off.

I loved my Toonami. I remember when it was Sailor Moon, Reboot, DBZ, and later, Gundam Wing, Tenchi, and Outlaw Star. I also remember when they started to do Midnight Run for uncut Gundam Wing.

I quit watching it when it started to run shows I didn't like/got a job so I couldn't watch. It was great when it was good, but just like Adult Swim now a days, just really sucks and needs to be put out of it's misery.

A lot of people still haven't from the one's I've talked to. I guess people expected it to end with more of a BANG than it did (pun not intended).

I did the same thing, I'd ocassionally flip on to see what the new lineup was (Like DICE, and Zoids). But really, about 04's when I stopped watching.

actually I enjoyed Dragonball more than Dragonball Z.The only objection I really had with Toonami was they rarely (if EVER) showed the complete series!I mean is it too much to ask to go to the very end and not cut it when only a few episodes are left anyway?
