wow... that really sucks. You should make them listen to mcr and se how awsome they are. I donno how I would deal with that I'm lucky enough to have another mcr obcesser in my group of friends and we all respect each other pretty well. but we have gotten slamed pretty hard about it and never let them take you alive is basicly our motto because of that. and man we will never take any ones s**t. ever.

I love MCR.
And people who are all; Oh, thats an EMO band. -blahblahblah-
Its like, wtf? Seriously?
Why is it such an issue, even if they WERE emo?
What is the matter with me listening to them? Does it affect you?

]i actuly was going to post something about this before i saw this forum. Thank you for opening this conversation. i heard everywhere that MCR was an emo band, but that my friends is total crap. As Goth shadow said, My Chemical romance came to be to help SAVE lives, not destroy them. i saw a video somewhere about why they are not a suicide cult somewhere,let me see if i can find it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mR5-AIpmPdk Here it is. Back in seventh grade I had a group picture of MCR on my math folder.
And every time I pulled it out, someone would make a remark about them being emo, and that their music is s**t.
In writing class, I would use My Chem in examples and essays. I remember we had to write a book about the Holocaust. Frank and Micheal "Mikey" were my characters, and they ended up dying for each other in the end, so I used the cover for TCRSR as my book cover, minus the writing.
I was the best writer in my class, and I ended up sharing my work.
Oh god, that was hell.
People call me emo all the time. Just because I wear skinny jeans, fancy converses, and black nail polish, doesn't mean s**t.
Don't take anyone's s**t. Remember that.
And besides, it's their problem they haven't been exposed to the magic that it My Chemical Romance.

My friends ex called me emo just because I listen to MCR
And he always calls them gay emo faggots and crap
And my mom and dad call me emo cause I listen to them.
They say they cut their wrists and crap rolleyes
And both of my brothers talk crap about MCR
and make fun of me and call me emo just because I love MCR

This 10 year old hates MCR says their emo
And 1 day she'll be like "OMG I LOVE MCR THEIR THE COOLEST BAND EVER! NUMBER 1!"
the next day...
"OMG TABITHA YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT MUSIC IS! MCR SUCKS! THEIR GAY! THEIR EMO! YOUR EMO FOR LISTENING TO THEM!"
Shes 10 years old... I don't think she knows what emo is >.<

I get called emo girl and goth b***h at school because I listen to MCR. Yesterday, I was asked if I was emo, and when I said no, I was asked if I like razor blades!
