Shawna Crystal It's interesting how many of us are people who joined years ago and went inactive for a spell. smile Haha, yeah, I was just thinking about that. I was active 2003-2004, then I went through a long period of inactivity. Now, I am back again!

I went inactive for the longest time, because of something the site did. I spent day and night on here. And one day, i found a pink giftbox floating around the forums. I clicked it, opened it.. inside? Nitemare headband. Sold the thing for a ton of cash. I bought the rest of the items that i wanted for my dream avatar. It wasn't much, but it was my dream avatar then-- I donated to a lot of people, bought a lot of art with my leftover cash, that sort of thing. And then, gaia did a rollback, because someone found a glitch and was spreading botted gold so fast that there was no way they could get it out of the economy. So they rolled back three days worth of activity. Including the first day, when i got my nitemare headband. So there i was, with like... 30,000 worth of art, that was paid for before the rollback, that i had to raise money for to pay for again. I had less than a thousand gold to my name, at that point. I paid back the gold, and quit gaia, for about two years.

oOo_Nightowl_oOo Welcome to the guild with the rest of us 'old fogies' (where the hell did that term come from anyway question ). Kals is questing again!
"an old, dull fellow," 1780, Scottish foggie, originally "army pensioner or veteran," perhaps connected to fogram (1775) "old-fashioned person;" or from fog in obsolete senses of "moss" or "bloated fat" (1586).
... in case you actually wondered. And thus another facet of my geekdom is revealed.
Check sig for details!

I'm 23 and joined up July 2007 when I came here through a popup ad. It's nice to finally have a place where people don't think I'm a ***** when they get an answer about my age. XD

I'm 21 and I am absolutely sick of the immature little brats runnin' about. Especially in the towns, which I frequent a lot, when they come up to you goin': "HI! Wanna be friends?" When all I want to do is collect trash on the ground, bugs, and gold.

To start, I'm 28 years old, and have been a member of this site since 07. What I don't get is you don't make any lewd comments or anything, but the younger set seems to think that Gaia is just for them, and us older individuals don't even belong here, unless we are ***** (even thinking of people that think of kids that way gives me the freaking willies. ugh! *twitch*). That is very messed up to me.
I haven't been really too active recently, except for logging in to get my Daily Chance every other day. One thing I was wondering, is what happened to the better rewards we were promised on the Daily Chance? They certainly have not improved in my opinion. I personally am okay with the new layout, but they should have left the Gaia title with the wings and pink and blue, it did truly mark this site as Gaia, not some bad knockoff.

I'm 22.I've been on gaia since june '07.when I first started I didn't meet as many rude younger people as I have more recently. I don't even like going in towns anymore cause they seem to be everywhere.I only play games if its my room or and friend's room that is password protected so young rude people can't come in and annoy us.I used to play in rooms without a password but the rude people that come in if you don't put password on was getting to be too much. In my day young people weren't so rude.We had manners and respected are elders and showed respect even to people our own age.

Kiwinga1 In my day young people weren't so rude.We had manners and respected are elders and showed respect even to people our own age. People never crumble in a day... I remember those days.. I'm only 23, but still I remember those days. Everyone showed each other respect no matter their age. Now, they just don't care. It's sad, really. I never really had a problem with all the young ones annoying me. I've only been on Gaia since December of last year, but I've had my fair share of run ins with the "annoying ones".
...it's a slow fade.

MarZzmatrix Going through my photobucket, i found a picture of my computer, that i had to show off here. Check it out, it's old gaia. Wow, I remember that. It was all bubbley and cheery and everytime I logged on, it made me feel slightly better due to the softness.

Shawna Crystal MarZzmatrix I remember when i started Gaia, back in 03. Everyone was mature and it felt like a real community, not just a whole bunch of random people all screaming at the top of their lungs. I remember when the chatterbox didn't move at a thousand posts every few seconds, and you could refresh the page and still be able to find your post. /back in my day... I also joined back in '03, but the younger generation seemed to find it as early as I did and I was driven off by seeing more and more of the same spam (for lack of a better term). Gaia started off as a place of quality where you could speak as an intellectual equal and did not have to strain the eyes trying to read l33t sp34k. My name's Becky and I am a 5th year college student (graduating May 8th! about time!) majoring in elementary education. I found this guild due to a community spotlight and jumped at the chance to be around my peers. Last week I was in the rally and a young girl started speaking to me. She said that she was 12 and wanted to know my age. I replied that I was almost a decade her senior. She started asking if I was 16 or 15. I had to explain that a decade was 10 years. She apologized and stated that I was 10. I stared in shock at my screen before stated that I was 21. I knew the term decade when I was in lower grade school. What have they been teaching in schools? It's interesting how many of us are people who joined years ago and went inactive for a spell. smile Isn't Gaia's minimum age 13? Anyone underage, I report. One less brat with a slight chance of getting better... though at least it'll be delayed.

I have been coming here since Jan of 04. I was accused of being an hacker by an former friend that got in an argument with me over something stupid. Anyhow... I got this account and I honestly joined because I thought it would be cool to hang out with people around my age. I saw this in the spotlight and thought of it for a while about joining and I figured my other guilds are slow and lazy...I decided to come here because this place is awesome!! I would love to just chill and talk with people around my age it would be awesome.

I've been on here since last October (friend told me about the site) and in Towns you always manage to see someone saying, "wanna cyber?" It's also hard to manage a decent conversation here anymore which is why I wonder towns either early in the morning or late at night. The younger users seem to want to entice "internet fighting" which is pointless.

I'm 22 and joined this site in November of 2003 when a friend I made through a chat room happened to mention it to me. Back then I couldn't get enough of this site, due to the fact I was quite the loner in high school and craved some form of communication with anyone. Sad to say though, most of the people I knew back then all vanished due to drama they inflicted upon themselves because of this site (it was really silly) and the people on here now days don't seem too keen to getting to know anyone better than they have to... Which kind of makes me sad because I always enjoyed finding people on here to be sort of "pen pals" with in a sense. It was always a place to find new friends and that's become so difficult. Now I'm not really sure why I stay on this site; probably the fact it keeps my art work up to par. sweatdrop
Anyways, welcome Brian. :3
