The Second Ex World Grand Prix

In the crowd sat Kayonis Echidna. "Whoa, that guy's good!" He said to himself. He watched for awhile and the crowd started to thin where he was the only one left watching. He took a mental note of everything. The speed, the angle of the ramps and the trajectory. "These could be useful." He said to himself. "Hey great moves!" He called out to the guy practicing. "Mind if I join in practice?" He asked.

"Sorry," said Flamingstorm,"I am done is hard work pulling of that amount of tricks for a few hours without a rest."
"Hey your Kayonis right? I saw you in the underground racing once," putting a name to the memory. "I am Flamingstorm and thats my little brother Lightning sitting at the table over there,"
"This your first official racing?" said Flamingstorm trying to be polite.
"Hey Flamingstorm," called Lightning,"I will met you at hotel room that we were given as racers." Flamingstorm nodded to him and then noticed Espio coming.
"Sorry to interrupt you Kayonis but we have got you signed in to the hotel for racers where you have the option of relaxing and staying. Your room number is on this sheet with all the details and your roommate is Manic if that is ok," Said Espio giving him a sheet with details of where the hotel is and what to do when he got there. "We recommend you stay at the hotel but the choice is yours,"

"Nice to meet you Flamingstorm." Kayonis said. He didn't know the underground circuit was popular here. "Yeah, I need a place to crash. um...hey, that hotel. Does it have room for three people to share? You see, Manic has a sister working in the pit area's, Sonia. She's going to need a place to crash." Kayonis said. He zoomed towards the practice road. "Hey, mind if I use this area to practice?" He asked.

"All Hotel rooms are 3 people rooms," said Espio."I will make sure she gets told that she can share your rooms," Espio then walked to Dessenger.
"Everything seems to be in order for your sign up,"Said Espio, "but you can have 2 more custom tricks if you want Mr Dessenger,"Here is your hotel room information your roommates are Flamingstorm and his little brother Lightning. If you want them to be changed you can join another room but the most is 3 to a room and you will have to share a room with at least another person maybe 2," With thatr Espio left to inform Dr. Eggman of the newest enlisted people.

"They are not Kayonis," said Flamingstorm,"I just used to race in some street races and happened to see one." Flamingstorm looked up at the clock tower in the distance. "I better get going to my hotel room Lightning will be waiting for me to sort out some food," said Flamingstorm and with that he got on his board and went off slowly taking a rest from the speed.

Cream came up to Saleana, "Excuse me Miss Saleana but I have your hotel details here," she said politely giving Saleana a piece of paper with information."Your sharing room 16 with Shadow and Rogue I think it was. If you wish to go with someone else you will need to tell Espio or me so we can get it changed," Cream bowed politely and hurried off to find someone else.

"Well we have the first race to announce," said Mighty (the Armadillo) on the speakers.
"The race will be tomorrow afternoon for Novice rank, please see the posters that will be put up all around and in the hotel front desk on request,"

The top 3 will move to the next round and the others will move to the play offs where they will be forced to win or be knocked out,
The play offs still lead to the finals for those skilled few.

Corning:Lowered slightly

Track layout:
It is a simple square with curved corners, All turns are right on the main corners but there will be cars parked on the track between corners 3 and 4
Type short cuts:
Speed:Second corner there is a rail
Flight: Half way to the 3rd corner from the second is a ramp leading to floating rings
Power:Able to knock cars out of the way for slight boast on the straight between corner 3 and corner 4 (Also can slow non power types down)

Allowed to do a test run on the track: No and no warm up lap

“No more screw-ups. I’m going to prefect my trick if it’s the last thing I do all day,” Saleana said to herself as she glared at the ramp. She had been trying to perfect her Chaos Rain trick all. She was able to get the two back flips in but the three hundred and sixty degree spin was the difficult part. Saleana was just about to start when she saw Cream the Rabbit. She handed Saleana a piece of that had all of her hotel information, told Saleana what room was hers and ran off to give out more papers.

‘So I’m sharing a room with Rouge the Bat and Shadow the Original,’ Saleana thought, ‘Hmm. This should be interesting.’ She heard the announcement about the race for the Novices. “Novice? I’m a Novice,” She said to herself and ran to the hotel to see the poster.
As soon as Saleana got to the hotel, she read the poster over and over.
“Okay,” she told herself, “Tomorrow. I can do this. I can win this race and if I don’t, at least I tried. Well better go find Room 16.”

Kayonis bummed his trick a third time in a row. "Darn! Not my day." He said. The announcement came on the loudspeaker. "I'm in that devision." He said to himself. Manic appeared moments later. "Yo Kayonis! Good luck tomorrow!" He said. "Thanks bro." Kayonis said. "Hey sorry I didn't show up to race." Kayonis said. "Ah no big deal, I had to get the hotel sat up anyways." Manic said. Manic had been watching Kayonis for a bit now. "Mind if I make a suggestion on your trick?" Manic asked. "Why not?" Kayonis said. "Instead of going full speed from the beginning off the ramp, give yourself a good pace and then at the ramp, blast off at full speed. That way the shove off gives you more of an edge." Manic explained. It made sense so Kayonis tried it and it actually worked. He was able to nail his trick and still have a little time for and addition if he wanted, but he wasn't going to push his luck. "Wow thanks!" Kayonis said. "Anytime. Tricks are your specialty, not speed so any time you think you can nail a trick go for it." Manic said and ran off.

Dessenger saw flameingstorm enter the hotel room "Hey wait i knoe you." he said to flameingstorm. "You beat me in the last compition at westopilos

"Dessenger right?" said Flamingstorm. "I remember you now," as he thought back. "That was a few weeks before the first Ex World Grand Prix I think,"
"I heard your to share this room," he said motioning to Cream as she skipped down the corridor to the stairs.
"Bro whats taking so long to open the door?" said Lightning as he saw Flamingstorm right by the door. He rushed towards him and saw Dessenger.
"Dessenger this is my little bro Lightning," said Flamingstorm as Lightning stopped behind him. "He is a little shy around others," explained Flamingstorm as Lightning watched Dessenger. "and a little scared about his first official race tomorrow. Lightning go inside the room and find the room service menu," thinking a bit more about his rumbling belly now. He watched Lightning go out of earshot. "Can you not talk to Lightning today as he might find it hard with all he has to think about and we need to get up early tomorrow," Flamingstorm asked and then he went inside to order some food.

"Whats wrong Shadow,"asked Rogue as he was acting strange even by his standards.
"It is this Saleana person,"he said thinking about it,"I can not remember her but I think we are linked some how as it is like how Maria haunted my mind before at one point,"
"You could be right about you being linked to her as she was put in here with us in this room and normally it is done by family or friends unless they need a room for someone else who is alone,"Rogue said thinking it over. "Maybe ask Omega when he has a free moment. At the moment I heard he is preparing score sheets and checking all the records for the tracks of the contest," and with that they say on 2 of the chairs in the hotel room in silence.

Dessenger went out in front of the ramp "now im going to master that new trick of mine the cyclone rampage." said to himself set himself on his board he started of slow then accelarated to top speed "NOW" he yelled doing a triple backflip and landing down on the ground missing the landing ramp "Ow." he moaned quietly "need to work on that one if i want to beat flameingstorm."

It was not very late but Flamingstorm and Lightning were asleep at about 8:00PM. They were to wake up really early as Flamingstorm had the whole day planned tomorrow so they could be ready for Lightning's first race.

Dessenger walked into the room at about 11:00 bruised and with scraps and cuts He climbed into bed with a smile on his face knowing that he had mastered his new trick

The sun was going to rise in about quarter of an hour and Flamingstorm and Lightning were getting up (it is about 4:45 AM) they went around quietly not to disturb the sleeping Dessenger and were out the door at 4:55AM.
They got a breakfast from Charmy (the bee) who was in charge of over night refreshment last night and they quickly eat their chill dogs which would help to keep them awake a little.
"Ok bro the plan is that we get in a lot of racing practice today mostly in the morning and then you have a nap to rest for an hour or 2 getting up for lunch then a little bit of a warm up then your ready for the race," said Flamingstorm as him and Lightning went to a road where they made a small race track.
"I have made it so all turns are right turns like on the course but I have put some things in the way so you have to weave in between them for that practice and to keep pressure on I will be racing right next to you staying at your pace," said Flamingstorm as he returned to the start of the mini course, "there are also a few ramps placed up and a rail so you can practice grinding a little,"
With that the 2 would be practicing for hours on end.

Shadow and Rouge had spent there night in the bar ordering soft drinks (mostly but a bit of alcohol slipped in from time to time not enough to get tipsy) they had talked for a few hours and just been relaxing a bit delaying the meeting of Saleana unsure of the connection. Omega would be busy for the next few days as the first races required a lot of work.

Sonic, Tails and Knuckles had spent their night partying for the first half and had gone to sleep just past midnight.

Jet and friends had gone to bed at about 11:00PM what they did is unknown as they were in their room all night.

Silver Blaze and Amy had gone sight seeing but they returned at 10:30PM for a late meal then they went to bed in high cheer.  

[Saleana Faye]

“14, 15, 16!” Saleana exclaimed to no one but herself as she shoved long black quills into its normal ponytail. The two red quills, just not long enough to go into the ponytail, draped over her shoulders. She took deep breath in, opened the door and found the room bare.
“Wonder where the other two are? Oh well!! Wow… this room is beautiful,” Saleana said with a yawn. “I better get to bed… well get into my PJ’s then to bed.” Saleana went to the bathroom and put her Pajamas, which were pink bottoms and white t-shirt that said “Sega” in blue letters, on. She took out her ponytail and jumped onto the bed.
“Mmmm, this bed is like my bed at home… one that lets you sink into the soft cushiony goodness,” Saleana whispered as she fell into Dreamland by 7 o’clock that night.

5 o’clock the next morning Saleana was up, dressed, and was ready to take on anything.
“But first I’ll take on breakfast, then I will practice,” she said, shoving her quills into the usual ponytail and running out the door.
