Two Types Of Asians?

It kind of pissed me off, because I'm Vietnamese.

When I first saw those videos, I laughed so hard.

Well of course it's not right but come on, there are stereotypes for every race.
I agree that we should all stick together, but I don't agree that there are "so few of us", because I think we people a lot of countries. eek

Whatever. It's a just a stereotype; a broad generalization. Some stereotypes are typically true, they just usually have a negative connotation....

When I think of Asian people, I divide them into two groups, and then each of them into two groups.

West Asia vs East Asia

In WA, it splits into Indo-centric countries like India, and Arab countries like Iran

In EA, it splits into (North) East Asians like Koreans, and South East Asians like Thai people.

Some people don't fit perfectly into one group because of the geography. Vietnamese and some Southern Chinese people are almost like South East Asians, but are generally more NE like, and people in places like Bhutan, Nepal etc. are sort of a mix between the two main groups.


Also, I don't think Western colonialisation (or oppression if you prefer) stunts a country's growth. Hong Kong was one of the Four Asian Tigers, and it was a British Colony, and it's one of the most important trade centres in the world.

Well in the united states all the asians stick to together because they are a minority there. In REAL LIFE asia, all asians hate each other because of intelligence, land, and political power. Of course not all the asians hate each other but most of em do. The best way to take down an asian country is with another asian country.

Jungle Asians (Southeast Asians) Vs. Civilized Asians (Induistrialized Asian Country)

I dont know why. but there are some people who categorize asians into these two categories. :/ even a famous asian comedian(korean) said stuff about this saying how he doesnt like jungle asians.

i'm not sure if it was just me but i always saw being asian and having asian pride as ASIANS STICK TOGETHER. there r so few of us anywhere really *besides asia...duh* so i always thought we should stick together.

im chinese and i speak korean, i live in america but im still not used to saying people who dont live in SE asia, but still live in asia, are asian. thats cuz i grew up around my SE asian(ers)

That's sick. I believe if you're an Asian, you're an Asian. There's no "Jungle" Asian. We're all civilized. ^_^

I think what they're trying to get at though is people usually don't see, for example, East Indians, as really being Asian, so they slap on the term "Jungle Asian." As I said, that's sick.

But, anyway, I'm about 90% pure Japanese and the last 10% Korean, so I guess I would be considered "Civilized"...
