beaulolais-I didn't read Ciardi's translation, I read inferno translated by allen mandelbaum and the other two translated by Henry Longfellow. Out of those two, I prefered Mandelbaum. His translation seemed to flow better than Longfellow's, at least to me. 3nodding

PoemAtGunpoint- It depends on what versions you read. My copy of inferno has 317 pages( it had the Italian version also) my copy of purgatorio has 188, and my copy of paradiso has 177.

i just finished Mystic Warrior by Tracy and Laura Hickman.

the first 80% was fine, serious sword and sorcery, but then it suddenly got sketchy, dropped major characters, and took on a sour sarcastic tone.

maybe that was Tracy's contribution?

I'm reading Betrayed, the second book in The House of Night series. It's about a fledgling vampire who is special. She advances faster than the other fledglings in her vampire school. She is a High Priestess in training and the leader of a group called the Dark Daughters. I liked the first book better because Zoey, the main character, had a thing with Eric, but now she's juggling two other boyfriends - which irks me because she's just not that type.

Part of an absolutely terrific series. Deals with the multiverse, grief, choice, tradition, and memory. These books have little action, but are engaging all the same.

First two books are A Crack in the Line and Small Eternities.

I didn't enjoy Inkheart that much.
But I finished reading A School for Sorcercy, for the fourth time, today! I absolutly love that book! It never gets old, and its so complex and confusing it has taken me until this time to wrap it all up in my head.
