beaulolais-I didn't read Ciardi's translation, I read inferno translated by allen mandelbaum and the other two translated by Henry Longfellow. Out of those two, I prefered Mandelbaum. His translation seemed to flow better than Longfellow's, at least to me. 3nodding
PoemAtGunpoint- It depends on what versions you read. My copy of inferno has 317 pages( it had the Italian version also) my copy of purgatorio has 188, and my copy of paradiso has 177.
