Trocks345 I used to be hated for liking MCR. But that was like. Two years ago. (I'm an MCR fan of three years.. The first year they weren't big, the they released Helena. xd )
Now everyone at my school doesn't care. Atleast, if they do, they don't express it, because they know that I won't really fight back, but I'll make a good point that will make them go "O_O" or something. wink
It's just something you're going to have to live with if you really care about 'em.

yer i know! its just ridiculous, people can be so shallow and ignorant and... GAH! it makes me angry just thinking about it. i know how it feels to have people say that to your face. i dont really have that problem tho, a lot of my friends like mcr and other bands like that, like BCE and others. and even if they dont like them they're all 'oh yer, i dont like them much, i prefer... whateva' you know. like they won't say that they suck or anything, they'll just say they're not really into that sorta thing, then they'll explain why, then suggest what sorta stuff they like... i think everyone should be like that, then there's no arguements over it! but people who arent like that and say they suck or whateva, those people aren't worth talking or listening to!

ugh.
people always start thinking that I'm such a "vampire/demon" person just because I listen to MCR and a bunch of
other metalcore bands with screaming and all those other typical things "ghetto" people hate.

and there's just almost no one in my school, or even my town, that has the same interests as me and my friend, that we either
get called lesbians, devil worshipers, or "emo" people. even my mom is starting to think I'm some weirdo.

OMG, I get so into this topic.
Ok, this is my opinion:
Music is very expressive and personal. Every single person should be able to listen, write, play, and make WHATEVER kind of music they want and desire to. I think it is COMPLETELY wrong for anyone else to judge or say anything for that matter about the music someone else listens to. Also, it shouldn't matter WHY someone listens to the music they listen to either. Whether it's because of the lyrics, the instrumentals, the band members, whatever. IT SHOULDN'T MATTER. If people want to be judgemental and ignorant, let them. Hopefully, they'll eventually open up their minds and realize the music THEY listen to is not the only kind everyone else has to.
There.
That's what I think on the subject.

I know how it feels. I was shopping once, and this guy, I don't know, he walked up to me. He was so grody looking. He was like, 'Dude, you know, emo's dead now, and MCR is too, so you shouldn't be in Hot Topic.' He seriously pissed me off, but I didn't say anything. I had a feeling i'll just curse him out..so..that's why I kept quiet. It happened before. So I'm avoiding it.

music bashing is just pure ignorance, i tell people who say they don't like my music that i'm not forcing them to listen to it or like it-so don't talk s**t about my choices in music unless i talk s**t about yours-cause there is NO point in music bashing !

carrieXchaos a while ago a kid and i wear talking about music and he asked me what i listen to so i told him mcr, p!atd, Fob, green day, pencey prep, beasty boys, madona, cobra starship, afi, daft punks, the academy is, gym class heros, boys like girls, paramore, the killer sand a loads of other stuff. those are just some. he said "DuDE they all suck!" me: why? him: thier all whiny and thier sound sucks balls me: ....well just becaus you dont like them doesnt mean you have to go and be a a fart face him: fart face? pfft dude, go listen to some good music me: i already am it basicaly went down hill from thier pisses me off. he asked then he starts bashing me for it. i mean i would understand if i asked him "what do you think of the music i like?" but he asks me then started bashing me for it! if you arent gonna be polite dont freakin ask! pisses me off. erm...does he even listen to the music? Mcr doesn't whine, at all, PATD(RIP '!') is like dance music...greenday doesn't whine, they complain affirmatively, pencey prep-never really listened to them much but Frank was in it so it had to rock, Beastie Boys are old school and kick a**, madonna= pop princes...pip princess= not whiney, AFI is probably more punk than that guy could ever be(especially their old stuff) not a fan of the academy is... gym class heroes, theyre sound is gnarly...its unique...boys like girls is amazing even though his whiney comment could classify his voice(not trying to be mean im a fan but you have to admit...) paramore is amazing, i will not be challenged on that fact, adn the killers are too cool to whine... and...best for last...Daft Punk is ******** TECHNO...how can techno whine? or suck balls? techno is GOD....

As far as I can remember there's always been a pb with the music I (used to) listen to and me being criticized for it! (ex : Eminem : too controversial; Nine Inch Nails : too weird and making you depressed; Linkin Park : too sucky, too screamy, not even good; etc etc... and now MCR : too weird looking and too much copying other ppl's music).........so I'm getting kinda used to it! stare
Now I either just don't react or tell them to f dramallama cheese_whine burning_eyes ninja k off if they don't like it cuz I don't care if they don't, and if they do...well, great, they're my new friends, haha!

(We're friends) so he says MCR sux and stuff...meanwhile...almost all of the Beatles r dead and hardly anyone listens 2 them.....at least hardly any of the people I kno. So yea we got in2 a lil arguement, but we're still friends. Now I call him, "Beatles" and he calls me, "MCR" lol. its hilar. Don't get me wrong The Beatles r pretty cool, but wen someone says MCR sux....i automatically get PISSED domokun . lol even though MCR doesn't kno me I'll always stand up for them cuz I luv 'em 2 death and always will! heart heart

I'd say Revolver, the White Album, Sgt. Peppers and the Lonely Heart Club Band (of course), and Abbey Road. Those albums really show why they are as inspirational as they are. Ohh and Rubber Soul too. F-it just listen to everything they've released. I catch a lot of crap from my Dimmu Borgir fan friend about the music that i listen to, but i cant really say anything back to her because i like her stuff too. cry But other then that no one really cares anymore. But off course once the new CD drops people will hate them again. I swear the anti-scene people follow the main scene closer then the teenies do.

I get crap from people about what I listen to. My best friend told me last year I was her wierdest friend in school b/c I listen to punk rock. I've heard lots of s**t b/c I am a Hanson fan. I hear crap everday from my sister b/c I'm what she says "Obbsessed" with My Chemical Romance.

Yeah. Luckily, no one at my school confronts me about it.
My 'friends' on the other hand, *which 9 times out of 10, I don't even understand why they're my friends* are always calling me 'emo' and 'goth' because I listen to MCR.
Never let them take you alive.
When someone does that to me, (note, I'm a very confident person,and don't give a s*** on what other people say about me...lol) I'm just like "okay. F*** you." lol and leave. It's stupid, and I realize they won't stop...just...ignore it.
If YOU'RE happy with yourself, and love the music you listen to because it makes you feel good, happy, ect, they DO IT! More power to you.

Here's what I have to say.
Music bashing has gone on since probably the beginning of time because every person is different with different opinions. And what does that mean? It's gonna keep going on. Probably until forever, unless, a) this world ends {which hopefully won't happen, but with all this 2012 speculation... nevermind, I won't get into that}, or b) the world becomes a utopia, which I doubt will happen. Someone bashes me? I wait for their rant to end. I ignore them. Usually, they either get irritated that I won't respond to them, or I will just turn to them, and very calmly tell them to "******** off" and then walk away. I've been called goth, emo, punk, etc, etc, for what I listen to and what I wear. Every time I go out, I get stares from everyone, one time this parent actually shielded her child's eyes and gave me a death glare. I gave her a "what the f**k you looking at" kind of look and flipped her off. Me and my friend laughed about that for so long. So funny.
But anyway? It'll never end. Try to argue? They continue. It fuels them. Don't argue. But still, don't take it. Do you get what I'm saying?
