Neither is their's... as fluffy as such a group sounds, they should be able to embrace that they don't speak for everyone, all unique snowflakes and all. wink
It's a No True Scotsman.

No Real Witch would ever curse someone!

Easy work arround, the person who did it wasn't a witch, let's call them something else, doesn't mean the event doesn't happen...
How can they not... nevermind, I answered my own question. sweatdrop crying

Mr. Darks are often a tool of individuals who have a muddled sense of "Self v. Other" and they often take the form of "experiences" that differentiate them as individuals from the world around them.

Part of the uproar over the movie when it first came out was that they were all "It's super-real because we used a real live Wiccan consultant!" and then they pretty much did whatever they wanted with it anyway. I think it was some nauseating chick from the CoG that consulted for them, but I don't remember for sure.

The rest of the uproar over the movie had more to do with the influx of dumbass teenage girls who then flooded any witchcraft-related web forums with "OMGZ HOW DO I TURN MY EYEZ A DIFRUNT COLOR?!" or "I DEDICATED MYSELF TO MANON NOW I HAZ SUPARPOWRZ" type posts. I was in middle school at the time, and being the only pre-existing pagan (as of like, a year before that point, so not long at all), I had to deal with this crap in class too from girls who suddenly wanted to be friends and talk about the sooper kool spell they just cast. Blah.

The movie itself is just dumb and hilarious, it's more the circumstances surrounding it that people have issues with, and the complete morons who think it's just like reality.

Yeah, that's pretty much what we told them every time.

Want your eyes a different color? OMGZ, the magic of science! Colored contacts!

Want your hair a different color? OMGZ, the magic of science strikes again! Hair dye!

It's a good example of peer pressure to fit in with the 'outcasts'.

To this day, I am greatly amused with the "Anti-Social" Socialites.

According to the extras on the DVD (yes, I admit I like, and own the movie xd ) They did lots of research of Wiccan magic before they made the movie, and, one of the lead chars, the woman who plays Nancy is a practicing Wiccan.

Rather like Madonna is a Kabbalist, then.
