Is the comic about a werewolf of some kind? (Just asking cause that's the impression I get from the shadow.)

Its not, but my friend actually said something very similar to that so I think I should have defined the shadow better : P

Oh. Sorry. xD Yeah, I would say you would have to define the hand so people can recognize the fingers. Maybe try and make sure the shapes of the knuckles or finger sections are more distinct?

One thing is besides the first pic, and your website front page pics, is all of these are very hard to see. So my suggestion in addition, (or even without) to Errol's suggestion, is using another color background besides white.

I love the picture you did for your website. It's very magical. And over all I think you have a very god understanding of proportions and elements.

mm RESURRECTION.

Some cartoon styling I am trying out. Needs some polishing but I am pretty happy with the characterizations so far.

I'm so jealous of how simple and natural you make the figure stuff look. Hehe. I get all frustrated with the shorter poses. Then again, I'm over a year out of practice.

I think your life work is wonderful. There's not much to say besides keep doing it and keep experimenting with it. Try other media like the accursed china marker/grease pencil or work from a toned page and pull out the form with highs rather than chiseling with darks.

The cartoons have some great shape variation and charm. Don't let the shape flow affect your structure and gesture too much though, because it looses motion and charisma. You're doing amazingly well though. I love it.

Ive been trying out more cartoony stuff just for fun, it seems pretty derivative but I am charmed by the cuteness of it right now.

I've been going to life drawing every week, and I can definitely feel some improvement (I hope anyways!). I've been trying out watercolors and for the summer session I'm practicing gouache.

I went people watching yesterday and this is what i came up with :3 It was pretty fun, its amazing what you see about people when you are really being creepy and gawking :p

You draw gestures so well! And the gouache works look nice. I hear that medium is really unforgiving. (Non-transparent, right?)

Did you draw the people-watching sketches from memory or just as you were people-watching?
I find it hard to capture action or expressions when they only last for a few split seconds.
Haha, and I love that guy's suspicious expression. XD

I usually draw my unsuspecting victims when they're sleeping on the train. lol.

@Yamiko,
Thanks! the gouache, well, its just like any paint really, like a better quality poster paint. Too many layers and it will flake - but with some water you can still get some transparency. I wanted to start practicing with it mainly because I dont have time to do oil painting right now, so I get more of that painting experience on a smaller scale :3

for the people watching, it was more like my friend and I were looking for interesting faces and shapes, and someone would pass by fairly quickly and we would try to jot down what we remembered, like a fat chin or small nose or something. (I remember the first guy I saw was like an Indian Michael Cera so that is what I tried to draw, haha). We settled down later in a food court so there were more stationary people. But yeah, I was definitely trying more to draw different face shapes rather than trying to get a real representation, just to practice getting some variety. I hate it when I draw the same face over and over!

I love your alternating use of black on white and white on black. <3 Your panels flow quite well into each other as well; I guess you've been drawing for a looong time now since you are pretty good!

The only thing I'd suggest improvement on is the sketchiness of the lines in some parts.. Just a bit more polishing and you could already make a webcomic!
