Thialona Will you teach about green and white teas as well as black? Actually, I am more likely to focus on greens and whites- I like them better. Open pagan festival held in Washington State in July. I haven't been in ages, but when I did go- it was an amazing experience.
Quote: Also what are teasans? Is that just herbal teas? Herbal infusions. Tea is made from two specific plants.
Quote: Sorry for all the questions. Good luck with your workshop! No need to be sorry for questions. And thanks for the well wishes.

Red tea is a teasan. It doesn't come from the actual tea plant camellia sinensis, but from a South African bush called rooibos (I've heard it's pronounced "roy-bus"). The blend I have, Madagascar vanilla red, by Celestial Seasonings, tastes a little like maple syrup to me, but that could just be some odd combination of the vanilla flavoring and the red tea.

Thialona Excellent, thanks for the info! I prefer green and white teas also. For me it depends on my mood.

Not completely accurate.
Do note that both Camellia sinesis and Camellia assamica are "tea" and that in some Asian countries, they call "black teas" "red teas", because instead of naming it from the dried color of the leaf, they name it by the color of the infusion.
However- you are correct in that Rooibos is not a tea.
phoenix shadowwolf ooh you make things difficult. but oh so fun and delicious, too! Indeed.
Hey- if folks want to hit SummerStar, I'd be happy to hang out with any who show. Bonus points for folks who attend the workshop!
Fiddlers Green Well, as I recall... There was a time... When the art of growing Tea was considered somewhere between Geomancy (Feng shui to get the propper growth) and Alchemy (propper steeping, drying, ect). Also, go into some of the Beverage's Mytho-history, include legends where the drink is prominent, along with a serving of the type of Tea it likely was. I intend to include the legends behind Cha Quan Yin and Dragon Well, as well as the references to the early Emperor who happened upon the drink.
Any others you could suggest?
