Im watchin Queen of the Damned yet again right now...

I've got it on DVD. It's ok, but it's not a patch on Interview with the Vampire. Queen of the Damned just isn't anything like the book and I think it let it down. Stuart Townsend is alright as Lestat, it's just that Jessy is a minor character and doesn't have an obsession with Lestat in the book...and Lestat isn't even made by Marius. It's an alright film, it's just that I'm a big fan of the books and since Interview with the Vampire really conveyed the book well, I was expecting the same from QOD, and it didn't deliver. I hate it when people turn books into movies stare

That movie is very confusing, David Lynch is a bit surreal. Another one I had to watch a few times before I got it was 'A Tale of Two Sisters' a Japanese horror movie, I think its based on a Japanese folk tale.

I watched 'Marie Antoinette' last night - what a disappointment! I read a lot about Royal history, her's was a tragic life and they left the later part of it out completely. Does anyone know if there was a reason for this or was it just watered down for a younger audience?

I've not seen Marie Antionette. But on the subject of dumbing down movies..I watched Pride and Prejudice with Kiera Knightley. I don't like that kinda film but my mum likes them, and as a kid I watched the TV series of it that was made by the BBC. That was actually pretty well made. I watched the film though, and it was so dumbed down it was rubbish...what was worse, is that they often quoted a line from the book every now and again, and it didn't sound right amidst so much dumbing down.

You mean you haven't seen it?
Please just watch it once to enjoy it before you have to analyse it to death.

Has anyone seen Night Watch?
It's a russian film that has been subtitled, and was based on a trilogy of books written by Sergei Lukyanenko.

I've not seen the film but I really want to. I've read the books. The movie is an action/thriller/fantasy/horror movie...everything all mixed into one. The action and special effects look brilliant. It's based on 2 sot of "police" groups...one side is the Night Watch and one is the Day Watch. One side fights for Good and the other Evil.

If you want to watch the trailer for the sequela to Night Watch, which is called The Day Watch, you can see it here:
http://www.empireonline.com/futurefilms/film.asp?id=17104#trailer
you can get a taste for what sort of film it's like.
