I have this beautiful brown shawl that I can't remember what it is made from. I want to say that it's kasmire, or some such...

Also, I now have Knitting Envy. Thanks. stare

uuuuuuh, cashmere. heart I bought a single skein of that for my mom's Christmas present this year and it set me back $40. But I wish I could work with it every day, it's the softest thing in the world. Comes from adorable goats, the softest of which live in Mongolia. And just about the only fiber more luxurious is Qiviut, and you can really only get that if you go to a yarn store in Alaska since the main distributor is the Oomingmak Musk Ox Producer's co-op. Which is great for supporting the local economy but not great for poor knitters.

I wonder how it is processed.

my scream has thankfully subsided due to some reading of Starhawk's The Fifth Sacred Thing.

anarchist collectivism + everyone is bisexual and polyamorous + pagan utopia + hilariously awkward and narm-y lime sex scenes + angsty, brooding men + blatant social critique + purple prose = excellence.

Hmm, I do have an old friend who raised Angora goats. I think I need to rekindle that relationship.

I really hate the fact that when the tep drops below 20F my lungs want to stop working. And if it's under 20F and dry? I just shouldn't leave whatever building I'm in, because I'm likely to colapse from coughing before I make it 5 yards stressed

My doctor theorizes that's why my cough has persisted for a full year. I've been trying anti acid stuff too, for possible acid reflux irritation.

The good news is, it isn't pnemonia. Cuz if it was, according to my doctor, I'd be dead already with how long this has gone for. So sort of mixed good news in that I took so long to see someone. Also the x-ray people would have called me by now if it was pnemonia or a tumor.

I've also been using a humidifier, which helps and drinking a tisane that's a blend of herbs (can't remember which), lemon and I think even honey is added in small amounts (I always add more though) to soothe my throat.

That would be a wonderful world.

Have they done any of the acid : contents tests?

I had a similar problem, and rather than it being a function of needing an anti-acid, I actually needed more acid when they reviewed the tests.

They didn't, unfortunately. My insurance coverage is spotty at best and it was a campus clinic.

I'm glad it's not pnemonia. I add honey to my rose hip tisane, sweetens it just enough and helps it go down smoothly.

My issue is a type of pnemonia, walking pnemonia. Basically unless I move to a warm, humid climate I'm going to have breathing issues the rest of my life. Which could at any time develope into full pnemonia. I take even a mild chest cold seriously. It's also something that puts me at risk for any type of surgery where I'd be under full anesthesia.

There's a home test that you might be able to do. Don't know if it's of interest or not.

An acquaintance says, "I feel profoundly sorry for the people who have let story nitpicking interfere with their enjoyment of Avatar."
A friend replies, "Mythic stories are timeless for a good reason!"

Yeah, because axes of privilege fuel and maintain many of them. stare

AFAIK it's combed from their underbellies in moulting season. Check out the yarn porn: From a website what sells qiviut.

It's on the lotto-jackpot list. Just one skein... just enough to make a hat or a pair of gloves... *dreams*

I don't know?

I'm not sure how much of it is social conditioning. It wasn't until very recently (i.e., when I got to college) that I began questioning my sexuality. It seems that I am not as straight as I thought I was.

I am also exploring the possibility of practicing more open relationships. If working open relationships look like what Starhawk has painted, I'm all on ******** board. I always felt trapped in monogamous relationships to a certain extent, and I feel like a lot of it was based on jealousy, domination, and control on my part. To "have" someone.

I meant that in the book that everyone is a practicing polyamorous bisexual, with exception to the Catholic nuns and Isis, a misandrist (sp?) ship captain sailor lady person.
