Amy smiled and quickly sat up in the bed. "Really? That's great! I love getting dressed up. Good thing I brought some wigs... I'll be right back!"

She grabbed her suitcase, the only one she brought, and quickly ran into the bathroom.

A few moments later, she came out in a wine-colored ensemble, complete with a bustle.

"Is this too old fashioned?"

*turns around while tying his tie* Ummm... I think that's a bit much.. sweatdrop Something a bit simpler would be better, I think.  

[Cuwen]

Amy was momentarily stunned when Karrie turned around. He looked so handsome! Elegant, yet subtle. She had never seen him in a suit before, and she liked how it looked on him.

When she registered what he said, she shook her head slightly to clear it and blushed. "Oh. Okay. I wanted to go extreme. I didn't know how fancy was fancy. Now I know to tone it down."

She smiled at him, gave him a once over again, and then quickly went back in the bathroom.

She came out again moments later in a white dress.

*sat down to put his shoes on while Amy changed again. When she came back out, he smiled softly at her* Much better. If it doesn't work, you can always change it, too... *chuckles and stands up, looking her over* I have a present for you. I made it earlier this week, and I think it'll look good with that dress.

*digs around in his bag for a moment before taking a box out. He takes a necklace out of the box, walks around behind Amy, and puts it on her*

When Karrie said he had a gift for her, Amy's eyes widened. "A gift? Karrie, all of this is more than enough! I can't believe you got me another gift..."

When he put the necklace on her and she looked in the mirror, her eyes teared up and she lightly fingered the heart pendant.

"Oh Karrie... It's so beautiful. And it's the splash of color this outfit needed. Both necklaces you have made me have hearts on them... This one is so elegant and gorgeous. Thank you, Karrie. You did an incredible job."

I made it earlier in the week with you in mind. Even before I made the hotel reservations. *lightly kisses her shoulder*

Well, are you ready for dinner? *stomach growls and he laughs nervously* I am.  

[Cuwen]

Amy closed her eyes momentarily when Karrie kissed her shoulder and played his most recent words over in her mind. He made it with her in mind. Was he trying to say something, like he had with Kits earlier, just hinting at it? He sometimes didn't come right out and say things, though she hoped that he would come right out and say what he was hoping he was thinking. She could hint at it at dinner, too, though. Just to get a better idea.

She turned and smiled at him when he asked if she was ready for dinner. She nodded and took his arm. When she heard his stomach growl, she laughed lightly.

"I know I'm in trouble when I even found that cute just now. And you look very handsome, Karrie. So handsome, in fact, that I would have no problem coming back up to the room early."

She smiled softly at him and then followed him down to the dining area.

Coming back up early sounds good. It's been a long day, and I'd like to just relax for a while. *escorts her down to the main dining room, where they are lucky enough to be seated near a window*  

[Cuwen]

When she heard Karrie say that he'd like to come back up early, too, she tried to keep her smile small and not break out into a goofy one. They had three more days of this. It was incredible, and Karrie wanted to go back up to the room early. Amy felt like she was in a dream.

Amy smiled over at Karrie when they were seated near a window. Everything was so romantic here, and she loved how elegant everyone and everything looked.

While they waited to order, Amy took a sip from her wine and then finally just blurted out one of the questions she wanted to ask Karrie.

"Karrie, do you think there's a difference between being in love and simply loving someone? I had this conversation with Kai once, and I think there's a big difference. I love my friends, I love Thistle, but I've never been in love with anyone."  

[Chef_Karrie]

*takes a sip of his wine* Yes, I do think there is. You can love a lot of people, like friends and family, but that doesn't mean that you're in love with them. It's a different kind of feeling, I think.  

[Cuwen]

Amy smiled, relieved. "I'm glad you do, too. I guess we see eye-to-eye on that. That's good."

She ran one of her gloved index fingers up the stem of her wine glass. "You... said you think it's a different feeling. I hope you don't mind me asking. You can ask me the same question, though I think you probably already know the answer. I just want us to be open and honest with each other. Umm, by you saying you think, does that mean you've never been in love before?"

She glanced up at him and then looked back down at her glass, too nervous to look at him too long.  

[Chef_Karrie]

*looks at his wine glass for a while before answering* I... I'm not sure. I've thought I was a couple of times, but then things changed. *looks up at Amy* So I'm not so sure anymore when I feel that way.  

[Cuwen]

Amy nodded, her smile dropping slightly. "Oh. I see. That's understandable. I guess you'll know for sure when you fall in love with someone. At least, I think that's how it's supposed to be. You know, a feeling you've never experienced before and you just know it's because you're in love with that person. At least, that's what I think it would be like."

She looked up at Karrie and forced a small smile.

*nods* It should be. Somehow, I don't think that's the way it always works, though.

*the waiter comes up to take their order*

Amy tried to eat her food when it arrived. It was very good, but she just wasn't that hungry anymore. She ate some of it, but mostly poked around it. She had nodded to what Karrie said about being in love, but she didn't comment on it.

After the meal was done, they didn't dance or anything. They just went back up to their room for the night.
