As Allure waited, the dragon slowly started to realize the sounds of fighting growing quieter. Would her team be coming soon? She could only hope. Though, Allure also noticed something else, the place she'd rested down in, she could feel a soft breeze... it was a chilly breeze, one to make ones skin crawl, but the dragon found.... familiarity with the chill. Looking around, she could only see darkness. Pure black thick enough to cut with a knife. Getting back to her feet, the dragon took a few steps forward, opening her maw just slightly to taste the air around her. It was odd... the blackness tasted off. She quickly closed her maw to keep from tasting the darkness any more. A few steps more and suddenly, the dragon felt her nose bump into something. Turning her head slightly she opened her eyes just a bit, shocked to say the least to see another Spiriake. No... perhaps not. As she moved so did the other, the dragon quickly realized this was a mirror of sorts.

Whether Daphnes was right or wrong about this knight business, at least the two were making fun of their precarious situation. Being quick friends, perhaps even brothers in arms the two set forth deeper into the second floor of this nightmareish realm. Though, their progressing through the fairly damp humid cave was short lived as Mogwai called out a question. Daphnes took a moment to think upon an answer. "Hmm...." He murmured. "Perhaps, because this is not like the real world?" He suggested. "Perhaps the ghosts here are simply unable to avoid any attacks, specifically normal ones like tackle?" It wasn't really logical to think about, ghosts were naturally unimposed by normal or fighting type attacks, so for Mogwai to be able to hit one, it could only mean this world was different from their own. "Aye, but don't worry about it to much. If ever you loose the ability to hit those ghost, you have me and my trusty fangs!" Daphnes finished, patting his chest with his free hand.

Radium's question rested up in the air as suddenly from the staircase below them, Piper appeared. Radium rose with a start, but quickly calmed upon seeing the kindly face of their timid dragon friend. "G-good to see you're okay as well." Radium replied with a small smile. "Ah, I hope they get here soon." She'd very much like to apologize for her behavior. It was so unlike her... Vivace seemed happy enough to reply with a 'hello' as if they were just passing strangers on their way to work or something. Well, perhaps it was simply Vivace's carefreeish personality? Either way, the reunion seemed to be short lived as suddenly form the darkness behind them something started to happen. Radium was turned just enough that through her peripheral vision she saw something sparkle. Eyes suddenly glowing with awe, the tiny mouse took a few steps forward only to stop at Vivace's side. "Look at that, guys." She mused, holding up a stubby paw. "So pretty...."

What a strange place… Mystery Dungeon Who are you people? Radium, Dotty, Ai, Vivace
☆ ☆【Piper breathed out in semi-anxious relief as her next Hurricane attack ripped open the Drifloon, the defeated balloon ghost letting out a long, farting wheeze as it flew out of control for a good several moments before landing and disappearing into nothing but smoke. And yet… she couldn’t help but feel that there was something off about all of this. It hardly seemed like the Drifloon had really done much of anything to try and actually attack her, if anything it seemed more like it had just been attempting to impede her and keep her from getting through. Even more curious was that it most likely should’ve been well defeated after just one Hurricane, yet it had appeared to be strangely resilient against what was typically a very strong attack… Unless the strength of her attacks were somehow being affected by this strange world they were in? As much as she would’ve dwelled on it for a little longer, right now she could see the path to the stairs was now open to her. She had to catch up with Radium and Vivace!
Sure enough, the pair of them were sitting at the top of the stone staircase as the Noivern approached and called out to them. She smiled as Vivace called out a breathy ‘Hello’ back to her as she came to settle down next to them, more than glad to see that they appeared otherwise unharmed. Radium seemed momentarily startled by the Noivern’s sudden appearance, but was quick to relax upon seeing that it was a friend and saying that it was good to see she was okay as well. Upon relaying the news to them that Dotty and Ai should be following along fairly soon as well, Vivace immediately jumped in with a statement about them being pretty strong. Piper was a bit taken aback by the Togepi’s rather bold assumption, considering that they hadn’t actually witnessed either of them fight yet… Still, the Noivern gave a small smile and a nod. ”Y-Yeah… I have f-faith in their a-abilities, they’re s-surely quite c-capable on their own b-but can be p-pretty strong together,” she agreed, in spite of Vivace’s conjecture the Noivern felt that there was some truth to the Togepi’s words as well. It certainly wouldn’t do for her to doubt the capabilities of the two Psychic-types without seeing more of what they could do, right? She nodded in agreement to Radium’s statement, their absent teammates should hopefully be coming along soon enough since they hadn’t been that far behind when Piper had entered herself.
Her attention returned to Vivace as the little one inquired how she was feeling. ”Ah… I-I’m feeling just f-fine, really, b-but… s-something about those D-Drifloon seemed r-rather strange,” she said, her golden eyes narrowing a little in thought, ”It’s s-strange that they d-didn’t seem to really a-attack at all… L-Like their only p-purpose was to j-just prevent us f-from getting through and n-nothing more…” She tilted her head curiously as she looked towards the pair, surely they had noticed it too, right? ”Th-They even seemed w-weirdly resistant to attacks th-that would’ve otherwise kn-knocked them out in o-one hit quite easily… Th-This whole dream w-world place just k-keeps getting s-stranger and stranger as we g-go,” she added, glancing back over towards the way they had come. The hordes of Drifloon were gradually diminishing as the parties of Pokemon pushed past them and headed for the stairs, which only further added on to the confusion of why the odd ghosts didn’t appear to be retaliating at all. One would think that they would put up more of a fight if they had really wanted to stop them from getting through… Assuming that they were perhaps minions of Darkrai himself, what exactly was his angle with this? Still, Piper hardly had time to dwell on it as she saw the sight of a familiar Espeon and Duosion entering the room. ”A-Ah, there they a-are!” she piped up, watching nervously as Ai managed to dodge before a Drifloon snatched her up, lending Dotty some assistance as she was surrounded by a glowing red aura before unleashing a pair of strong electric attacks at the ghost. The Drifloon was easily defeated, and the pathway to the stairs was now opened up to them. ”Hey! W-We’re over h-here, guys!” Piper called out to them, waving her wings around in the air a little to catch Ai and Dotty’s attention and signal them to where they were.
Anxiously waiting for the two Psychic-types to make their way over, the Noivern glanced over as Radium drew their attention to the new path that had opened up behind them. Sure enough, the way before them opened up into what looked like… a cave? It was pretty dark inside, save for many little star-like pinpricks of light where the weakened light from outside bounced off of what lay inside. ”Oh my… C-Crystals?” the dragon inquired curiously, blinking to take in the oddly beautiful sight that lay before them and nodding in agreement with Radium’s sentiment. ”L-Looks like th-that’s where we h-have to go,” she said, already noticing other groups pushing onwards and gradually being swallowed up by the darkness that lay beyond, ”W-Would probably be for th-the best that we s-stick closer together f-from here on out.” As much as going through a crystal cave hardly sounded unpleasant, it was more of what possibly lay beyond that made Piper a bit more unsettled. She wasn’t sure what exactly it was, but something told her it would be in their best interests to stay a bit closer with the group as a whole for whatever they would come upon next in their journey to find Darkrai.】☆ ☆

A new place… Mystery Dungeon Mogwai spies a new friend! Daphnes
☆ ☆【With their first test now completed, they were free to push onwards and make further progress to finding and putting a stop to Darkrai’s evil schemes. As they continued to venture together, Mogwai couldn’t help but feel more and more comfortable being in the company of Daphnes… Even though they had pledged to be partners at first, the Bewear still sincerely hoped that they could potentially become good friends as they performed their duties as knights and overcame whatever obstacles stood in their way together. Though… in a bit of an odd way, the Bagon was becoming an almost brotherly figure to the bear, teaching him how to be brave and fight against those who would otherwise hurt other innocents in spite of his reluctance and instilling knowledge about the intricacies of knighthood in him. Even though their initial meeting had been rather unexpected and they hadn’t exactly gotten off on the best foot, Mogwai felt that he had no regrets meeting Daphnes and would happily accompany his smaller Bagon partner to the end of their quest.
Strangely enough, the new path that had opened to them upon defeating and bypassing the guardian of the previous floor was a cave, already this was a vast change in scenery from the foggy forest they had been wandering through beforehand. The smell of dank and damp struck Mogwai’s nose as they entered, and it was hard to really see much of anything beyond where the weak light from outside filtered in… But in spite of the uneasiness that pooled in the bear’s gut, he put on a brave face and strode forward with Daphnes at his side as they left the first floor well behind them. Still, there was something about that fight that was still bothering Mogwai, and he tried to voice his concerns as best he could to his companion with what limited words he knew and gestures to accompany them. He listened attentively for any sounds that seemed out of the ordinary aside from the distant dripping noises of what sounded like water running off of stalactites while Daphnes took a moment to think. The Bewear hummed thoughtfully as the Bagon suggested that perhaps he had been able to strike the ghost when it otherwise wouldn’t have affected it at all because this place was different from the real world. Mogwai nodded as Daphnes went on to further explain that maybe the ghosts here couldn’t avoid any attacks, especially normal ones like Tackle. ”Mmmmmm… Maaaaakes seeeeeense… Thiiiis plaaaaace noooot noooormaaaaal,” he agreed, it certainly seemed sensible enough to him. This was a dream world, after all… it should only be expected that things here worked so much differently than they did in the physical world, as if any and all sense of logic and reality had suddenly been turned on their heads. Still, Mogwai felt like he could understand it for the most part, even though he was still trying to wrap his brain around the concept as a whole. That would certainly take some getting used to, especially if they would have to fight against more and more ghosts in order to get to Darkrai.
The Bewear gave a small smile as Daphnes reassured that he shouldn’t worry about it too much, and if he ever lost the ability to hit those ghosts then he could rely on the Bagon and his fangs to take care of them. ”Yeeees, thaaaaank yoooouuu Siiiire Daaaaaphneeees,” he said gratefully, more than happy to hear that his companion was willing to back him up if they ever ran into a dire situation. Still, the more her thought about it, something else about that fight against those balloon ghosts didn’t seem right… While they were weak and easily defeated, it seemed odd that they didn’t appear to make any attempt to counter against the attacks made towards them… ”Buuuut… Siiiire Daaaaaphneeees thiiiink iiiit straaaaange hoooow ghoooosts noooot fiiiight?” he pressed a bit further, unable to help but feel a bit nervous at how strangely easy it had been to bypass the Drifloon. Even if their attacks might not have been able to affect him due to his Normal-typing, Mogwai still found it weird how the ghosts seemed to be more intent on trying to block them from getting through than actually trying to fight back.
Turning his attention towards the path ahead, a glimmer from somewhere close by caught Mogwai’s eye, and as he turned towards it a sudden glow seemed to cut through the darkness ahead of them. The source of the glow appeared to be a mushroom of some kind, a soft, blueish colored light radiating off of it even though there appeared to be no other light present in the cave itself. As if on cue, more and more glowing spots sprang up on the path ahead of them, filling the cavern with an array of blue and green luminescence. More of those strange mushrooms made their appearance as they walked along, though the strange lights seemed to also come off of large and small patches of moss that grew along the floor, walls, and ceiling, and even the leaves of vines that appeared to be growing in through tiny cracks in the rock. ”Ooooohhh…” Mogwai murmured in fascination as he looked all around them, curiously reaching out and brushing a paw against a patch of the radiant moss, ”Puuuurreeeeeetyyyy… Moooogwaaaaiiii noooot seeeee theeeeese liiiiights beeeefoooore…” The Bewear couldn’t help but be intrigued by how they seemed to give off light of their own accord even with the lack of such coming in from outside, it was unlike anything he had ever seen before. At the very least they wouldn’t be wandering out completely in the dark from the looks of it, though Mogwai wondered what else they might come across along the way in this strange cave.】☆ ☆

How did I come here? Mystery Dungeon Another lost soul? Xiao Lan, Beltigre, Shade, and Daiki
☆ ☆【With their first fight completely quite easily, Fianna made for the stairs that had now opened up to them with Xiao Lan at her side. The Braixen felt quite confident that they had been able to defeat the Drifloon without really breaking a sweat, chuckling as the Noibat spoke proudly of how the fox had punched the ‘bad ghosties’ in the face and even trying to mimic a punch herself. However, the little bat dragon wasn’t able to pull it off quite as easily as Fianna had made it seem, as it ended up throwing her flight off balance until she was able to recover and correct herself. ”That was a pretty good try, keep practicing and I’m sure you’ll be punching those mean ghosts easily soon enough~” she encouraged with a smile, Xiao Lan certainly knew how to make light of even a rather gloomy situation like this. Still, as they moved to head upstairs, Fianna couldn’t help but feel that there was something off about that whole fight with the Drifloon… something that didn’t seem quite right…
Her attention flitted towards Daiki as he caught up, looking like he had just gotten finished with the most intense workout in his life. He insisted he was fine when the Braixen inquired if he was alright, the fire fox not exactly convinced in spite of his reassurance. Still, she decided against pushing further, figuring that they could just take some time to rest up when they got to the top of the stairs. ”Well alright… But if you need any help at all then please let me know,” she simply said, focusing on pushing onwards. ”Still… something doesn’t feel quite right about all of this… It seems even combat is quite different in this dream world, attacks that should’ve normally defeated ghost types like those Drifloon pretty easily in a single hit only did minor damage at best,” she remarked, not really talking to anyone in particular as she voiced her thoughts before she looked back towards Daiki, ”You noticed it too, yeah?” Even without any actual combat training, the Zoroark’s Dark-type attacks should have been powerful enough to just one-shot a weak Ghost-type right off the bat, and yet it hadn’t… Fianna felt that was more to blame on the odd workings of this strange world than on just Daiki being weak and inexperienced from lack of training, though she was curious to hear what he thought about it…
Xiao Lan, on the other hand, was more concerned about their teammates who had yet to catch up, and the Braixen shared in her worries as well even as she assured the little bat that they would wait up for Beltigre and Shade at the top of the stairs. She smiled warmly and gave Xiao Lan a gentle pat on the head as she agreed, though it melted away into a concerned frown upon noticing that the area around them was starting to grow darker the further they went. ”Of course, sweetheart, one moment,” she quickly agreed as the Noibat pleaded for her to light her stick again, ”Don’t worry… The nightmares won’t dare mess with you or else they’ll have to deal with Daiki and I.” Putting on a brave face, the Braixen reached over and gripped the haft of her trusty stick-wand, pulling it out from her tailfur and letting the sparks generated from the action light a healthy fire on the end of it. ”There we go… better now?” she suggested gently, though she couldn’t help but notice how the normally bright light casted by the flame seemed… a little less so than usual. It was then that she noticed where the path ahead of them was leading as they managed to reach the very top of the stairs, what appeared to be a damp, dark cave, definitely a bit of a jarring transition from the forest they’d been in only minutes ago… Beyond where the light from outside was able to reach, which was hardly very far, there was little else than pitch blackness as far as the eye could see. Yeah, that definitely wasn’t ******** ominous at all… yet it seemed that was where they had to go as other groups began pushing forth into the darkness. ”We should probably stick closer together as a group from here on… I’d hate for anyone to get lost in there,” she murmured, holding her flaming stick aloft as she peered into the cave, before turning towards Xiao Lan and Daiki, ”We’ll take a short rest here for now… As soon as Bel and Shade catch up, we’re going in.” She wasn't sure what to expect once they would start pushing forward into the cave, but if what had happened back there was of any indication they would have to be as ready as they could be to deal with anything that came their way.】☆ ☆

Dune was aaaall too happy to turn back towards the arch and follow Chickpea. Except, what was that coming down from the mist? "Chick-pea!" Dune launched himself like a little missile, followed by the loud crack of his wings slamming up and down. He hadn't really been able to reconcile 'go go go faster forward through the door' with 'omg scary enemy' and accidentally just bodily hurled himself at the threat.
The drifloon bobbed backwards, but then kept coming. Dune, meanwhile, had completely overshot it and was too far away to get back to Chickpea. "G-get it, Chick-pea!"
[ Dune + Chickpea encounter the 1st floor boss. Dune uses an attack (body slam) ]
Ai might have, maybe, noticed within a few moments that her opponent wasn't worryingly strong and conspired to boost Dotty up for a win. Not like she'd admit such a thing. "There," she said, shaking her head like she was dusting herself off, "-that's that then. Good teamwork," she commented, inspecting the downed guardian carefully. Before her eyes it dissolved into a dark smoke. It, and the mists barring their way, vanished upwards into the dark sky.
"Let's see if we can catch up now." She started up the steps, moving quickly. That battle had her thinking. It felt like it had been much, much too easy, worryingly so. What could that mean for the rest of their journey? On the other hand, she was happy that it seemed she and Dotty were compatible as teammates. Dotty had responded so quickly and effectively to Ai's request, and it was so often the case that trying to work in a team just, well, was worse than working alone.
A massive wing grabbed Ai's attention, and the espeon chuckled internally. She could hear Piper now, calling out to them. She hurried up the last few steps. "I see everyone's alright?" She paused. Now, how to put 'don't run off again for ******** sake guys' into a good, cooperative phrasing? Thankfully, Piper made a suggestion for her, so she just had to support the sentiment. "I agree with Piper, we should be careful about splitting up. Did any of you get the sense that those drifloon were holding back, somehow?" she asked, having missed Piper saying something very similar before she and Dotty caught up.

Ulani continued to stare forward into the foreboding dark that lingered before them. Unconsciously, as though somehow the light would help, her cheeks sparked with a bit of electricity. It faded quickly though, the humidity of the cave floor fizzled it out quickly.
Oi.
The little squirrel took a deep breath, trying hard to put on a brave face. She did jump a bit as Prim patted her on the shoulder, so caught up in her desires not to be scared. "Oh!" She chirped, eyes going wide at the offered hand. She gave a relieved smile and gently gripping Prim’s offered hand. "Thank you flower!" She chimed, grin widening even more as she felt some confidence return. "We’re gonna save the day and find all the berries!" She cheered, throwing her other free paw in the air. They were a mission and with her friend, they’d achieve it! "We should be careful though! Caves are… uhm… they’re dangerous! The rocks look really pointy…,"

Vivace nodded her head, pleased to hear that Piper was fine, before she proceeded to stand onto her feet and stretch her arms up; she wasn't getting ready to leave, they were still waiting on Dotty and Ai after all, but she had finally regained her strength and she wanted to be ready. "Those drifloon were strange," she agreed, finally able to put in her two cents on the matter. "I mean, why appear in the first place if you're not gonna fight? And where did they come from?" The questions were, of course, rhetorical, since no one on their team would have an answer, but they had Vivace thinking now. "Do you think we'll come across other pokemon like them? Trying to... block us from the next staircase when we come across it? ...If we do," she questioned/absently hypothesized.
She turned away from her thoughts upon Piper's excited cry, then watched as Dotty struck down one of the balloon pokemon and cleared the way for both herself and Ai; she knew they hadn't needed to worry! Though, maybe knew was a strong word, 'hoped' was far more accurate. As Piper's location call died away Radium piped up, and Vivace turned herself accordingly. Confused at to what was 'so pretty', her eyes widened when she caught sight of the crystals twinkling in the dark. "It really is pretty," she murmured in agreement. She almost wanted to see if she could try plucking one and taking it for herself. Almost.
But, Piper was already suggesting sticking together, and then Ai and Dotty arrived, and her desire diminished. For now. Putting on a smile, Vivace spun herself around to face her other two teammates. "You guys were awesome down there!" she complimented, as way of greeting, before making her way closer to Ai, trying to subtly hint that she wanted to ride on her back again. Those stairs had been hard, and... this way she could keep up with everyone again, and not run ahead, like she had last time.

"Huh?" One second he was in front of Dune, leading the investigation, and in the next his friend was nothing but a blue and black blur, rocketing ahead before gliding into something solid. Chickpea cocked his head to the side, utterly confused, but was quick to come to his senses when Dune called out to him again, this time a warning. "Oh! Yeah, okay!"
His target but a few feet away, Chickpea locked eyes with the purple balloon creature before snapping his head forward, his head-leaf taking on a sharpened edge seconds before, and released several, crescent shaped leaves at the drifloon. Two of the projectiles hit their targets, while the rest went on to lose their form and flutter harmlessly to the floor, and tore into both sides of its opponent. The sudden tears sent forth an explosion of air, strong enough to send the drifloon flying back, and then up, and then sharply to the left, before deflating to the ground in a crumpled heap.
Chickpea cocked his head to the side at the sight, most pokemon didn't usually.... do that kind of stuff when he attacked, but hastily summed it up to 'dream shenanigans' and raced over to Dune. He chimed, patting a fist to his chest. He made a face at the comment concerning the businessman practice going on, scoffing to himself. Sleazy even in dreams. Amazing.

If a bird could grin, Argo would be doing so now. It always felt good when he could get a favor out of doing something. Even if that favor was rather simple. "Okay kid. Hold this." he said, passing over his flute to the Eevee. The wingull was still outright ignoring the other two pokemon in the group. After Luna secured his treasure, he looped around the drifloon again, dive-bombing at the balloon pokemon with his beak. It took a second attack before it's hold on Luna was lost. While the other pokemon likely expected the opposite of Argo, he grabbed on to the eevee with his feet as soon as she started to fall, slowly gliding in a spiral down to the ground before Luna was standing safely. "So, that favor... Hold on to my flute for me and give it back later. That's it." he stated to the Eevee while preening one of his wings. He then pushed back off of the ground to start to glide back to the stairs that had shown up before them after the drifloon was dispatched.

Ulani
P R I M The Mute Florges
Prim gave a firm nod of the head, adding in her confidence with Ulani's. It was nice to know that her little friend was no longer totally preoccupied by the idea of just finding berries, though that was a very important step to their plan. Prim nodded her head again at Ulani's tale of precaution, eyes immediately falling to the stalagmites (was that what they were called? She had absolutely no idea) that hung from the lip of the cave, giving it the ferocious appearance of a beast waiting to chomp down on any unsuspecting pokemon.
...Which they totally weren't! The cave was just a cave, and those 'teeth' were nothing more than stalagmites, rocks.. whatever! Bundling up her courage, Prim began carefully leading their way into the cave, her body tense as she prepared for any sort of attack that might come, from the cave a pokemon hiding in the dark, or otherwise. She kept to a decent pace, not keen on throwing herself directly in the dark, and drag Ulani along in the process, or crawl along. Eventually, that pace got them to a point where the sun's rays just barely touched, and further ahead was nothing more than formless nothingness, where anything could be. Prim stopped, a frown on her face, to consider the best plan of action, before growing rigid as an electric blue glow suddenly... appeared.
There wasn't much intensity to it, it certainly wasn't a blinding light, and no sooner had it appeared did the light begin to peter out, softly, and became a soft ember before regaining its light. Prim, confused, turned to look at Ulani for assistance, her face just barely outlined in the soft blue glow.

Cling weaved his way up the stairs, slithering and leaping to take small bits of flight, though going up didn' tmake it very easy. He blinked as Dice tiredly caught up, smiling faintly, and laying down complacently to let his companion rest. "Would you like to take a rest?" he offered. He blinked, though, as the pokemon seemed to look past him, and take in their surroundings, before jumping to his feet. The klow turned his head to do the same, perking up some as he did. Honestly, he hadn't really looked when they reached the top, too preoccupied with Dice, and his bemoaning of the stairs. But he was right-- it was a cave.
"Huh... you lived in a cave, Dice? With your trainer? Or before?" he asked, looking around, and moving to follow the pokemon at a slightly slower pace.
