Her hand was well dressed and she changed and cleaned the wound as much as she should. within a few more days, she should be fine to use it again so long as she was careful not to tear it back open. She spent her time checking on the fences of the animal enclosure, taking notes of weaknesses and places that needed patching so she could wrangle some trolls to take care of it before it became a problem.

The thought of any part of him to be made to melt on purpose, even if removed from his body? A catastrophy." She rolled her eyes, though smiling. "I'm glad the two of you can work together on this endeavor. It sounds very sweet, in a way."

Mera noticed Nictor's bag problems. She, too, received a bag, but perhaps Nictor received more because he looked a little more beefy. On her end, there weren't many problems, probably because of those various disparities.
"Would...you...like some help?"

Sephos Arbola

Building, building... Moving earth was hard work, and Sephos knew it. To his great dismay, however, not only was he sweating as he moved the dug up earth, but one of the trees he'd planted was being smothered by it. It had been small - too small for others to see - and it was now unable to find the light... poor thing.

He dumped the dirt elsewhere for use elsewhere - it had may uses.

After that dirt was moved from the road, he set to tending to the tree - he dug it free, painstakingly, from the dirt and used his own strength to move the dirt elsewhere. He covered the dirt with mulch to protect it, and washed and watered the seedling so that it could grow. As best it could, anyway - Sephos just hoped that the poor things's roots weren't damaged...

He wanted it to grow. So badly.

Sephos Arbola


Off in the distance, Sephos could see the lights of the city. They looked pleasant, so far away, but they disguised a hive of bustle and construction. A place of trolls.

But then, was that so bad? Sephos disagreed. He understood that commerce was part of the ecology of the settlement, and that they needed to connect to the city to bring in more resources. Just as water was needed for a forest, and plants, and animals carried by the wind.

Connection was necessary, and so the roads were built. A troll was a part of this connection - he was a part of this connection.

So he worked on the road to the city, knowing it's purpose was valid.

Sephos glowered at the small testing field in concern. When Panili had told him that this was how he could help - through plants an agriculture - he had suddenly realized, upon his return to his hive, that he had just the thing to start with. He'd been breeding a wheat strain since Valaon's farm had burnt - not from her farm, but just to see if he could make a tougher strain. Hay, he had heard, was not a bad building material, but what if it was tougher? With a more water-resistant outer coat? So that everyone could be dry and warm? Why not try?

So, he did, but it hadn't been growing well in his cavern nursery.

He'd then tried it in a field - and it was not, it appeared, growing well there too.

He'd give it more time, he decided. Plants required patience, and breeding especially required patience.

Tsarzi made a mental note to keep better tabs on the road crews assigned to the fringe sections of the road. It would seem that quality control was a little lacking out here. Flat expression taking on a sharp edge, she stalked down the way towards the group that appeared to be kicking a bean filled bag to each other. No. She was not pleased at all. They probably wouldn't be either when she was done with them.

Tsarzi caught a couple of other kids milling about near town hall. They were new volunteers, unsure what to do, so Tsarzi brought them along to water the crops and give them a rundown of the general workings around here.

"Euah, what in tarnation do ya think yer doin'!?"

Tsarzi's expression pinched slightly in irritation before she promptly smoothed the emotion away and looks towards where a commotions was starting. There was some gruff redblood having a go at a rather belligerent looking teenager. And there were some beams on the ground next to them. Tsarzi took a deep breath and made her way towards the arguing pair. The redblood was yelling something about lack of coordination and foresight and slippery fingers. The teenager still had one hand resting on a nearby ladder. He'd probably dropped the beams and it nearly struck the older volunteer. The least Tsarzi could do is bully them out of the work zone. That teen wouldn't be going up on any higher construction again though, she'd make sure someone saw to that.

Light work for her hand. What would count as light though. Most of the work around here either took a good bit of strength or dome dexterous fingers and wither was likely to cause an issue. There were some relatively light menial jobs that needed doing that she could handle though. By all the newly constructed buildings there were stretches of land where the grass had dies out or been torn up from the heavy foot traffic and supplies taking up ground space. She could get some good progression with that before her hand was liable to be in any danger.

Over at road construction, Tsarzi was itching to get hands on again. She was able to help pour and spread gravel so long as she used her injured hand to control the spill of the bag than support the weight. She remained generally careful about her hand, despite urges to take on heavier tasks. She didn't need Lupos trying to pull her out of work completely.

In the livestock pens, Tsarzi discovered one of the cattle seemed to be lethergic and acting down. Tsarzi considered the beast and called Lupos to check from a distance if he thought the beast was sick. Such a lusus inside the pens would cause a fuss for sure. He conveyed that something smelt off before retreating away as the animals were already acting skittish from him so close to the fence. Tsarzi got the cow moved away from the rest and went to alert someone of the possible sickness. Best to catch that and quarantine now than let it spread.

The shelter was a little slow tonight. The volunteer count had dropped a bit with the recent business going on with the military launching pods into space to try and clear out the orbital debris and dead ships. Tsarzi herself was taking part in helping with the ground operations, but that wasn't going to prevent her from coming to put in her efforts for the evening before dawn hit.

Watering the plants didn't just mean the outdoor crops, but also the seedlings planted around the buildings and walkways. Tsarzi had a meticulous pocket map o the settlement she was referencing to locate all the different plant starts and make sure they got proper attention to caox them into growth.

Tsarzi brought a cooler with her when she arrived at at the road work site tonight. Hydration had been a bit of a problem, working farther and farther from the center of the Settlement where most resources like water and food were prepped and handed out. So, she brought water with her tonight, and saw a marked rejuvenation to the trolls working. Seems it had been a good decision, they didn't need anyone passing out.
