Uzumaki_Ito My television stopped working and I don't miss it. I have a DVD collection and a broadband connection. I would probably cancel the Satellite TV service if I was the one paying for it. There just isn't a lot of entertainment worth watching anymore, and documentaries can be seen on PBS so why pay for the Discovery channel?

Ok, yeah. The new versions of those do suck. Though, I hated the original Doug. I know I might get a few gasps from that, but I did not care for it. I can't remember why, though. I'd have to see it again.
They weren't cartoons, but who remembers shows like Clarissa Explains It All, Are You Afraid of the Dark?, All That, Kenan and Kel, Pete and Pete, Family Double Dare, Wild and Crazy Kids, Guts, Dinosaurs, Bill Nye: The Science Guy, and the like?

My daughter was nuts over the cartoon Punky Brewster. She liked the cartoon so much that I drew and colored a picture of Punky on her t-shirt. I still have it packed away in the closet somewhere. My favorite 80's cartoon was The Fraggles. All those little critters running about under ground. I also watched HeMan, Thunder Cats, Mask, Shera, Transformers, Snorks, My Little Pony, (Optimus Prime is great!) and a few more but I can't remember some of their titles. rolleyes When I see alot of the cartoons that are being out out lately I wonder where all the creativity has gone. Most times what passes for conversation in cartoons today are insults followed by or preceeding gas jokes. If find it all very isulting to kids and alot of that is not watched in my house.

G.I.Joe. I own every single volume published in my country, starting from 1989 until they stopped writing it. And some new volumes too.

Uzumaki_Ito I blame the Telecommunications Act of 1996 for all the crappy cartoons that's on Cable an Network Television. The what? o_O ^^; All I know is I watch most of what I watch by buying it on DVD, downloading it from some foreign country, or watching it on YouTube. Not much on American TV but stupidity for stupidity's sake, un-Reality TV, children's shows that ONLY children are able to enjoy, and the worst of American humor and/or immorality these days IMO. ^^; Tho the same claim could probably be said about any other country's entertainment and shows in other places probably just SEEM different.

I'm still a fan of Transformers, in fact I brought the recent version of the animated Transformers movie. The cool part was it came with closed caption so for the first time in 20 years my friend and I understood everything that was said in the movie and caught stuff we didn't see before lol
I was pretty excited when Peter Cullen was announced to do the voice for Optimus Prime in the live action movie, just hope he does it again in the 2nd movie.
Well back to the main post...I used to watch cartoons on sat morning literally from 7 in the morning until noon, I could flip between the channels lol
