Nice! So how does co-op work with that game? Is it started separately, or does it add one person or another into an already-in-progress game?

No, it´s "hot-seat" co-op,
you can join another players game and vice-versa.
Everyone can start a new game from the very start with no problem
and the enemy difficulty scales to the amount of players are on the game,
while also matching mob´s lvl to the highest one in the group.
Naturally, the game will warn if you join an "unmatched" group,
but you can join it with no problems.

Max cap is 50, not sure if it´ll increase like it did in the original borderlands dlc,
so far I haven´t noticed any changes and we got 3 dlc´s atm. :/

Well, I'm game for either game, as my agent has pointed out. Not sure where I'm at with Borderlands 2, I do know that with Space Marine I'm around level 33 I think.
