[LOC] Lightseekers Settlement

The machine fix didn't go as smoothly this time. Tsarzi got it up and running but the impatient idiot that was supposed to be using it tried to start the thing before her hands were clear. Her brows were furrowed and teeth bared as she recoiled, skin catching and tearing but at least not losing anything to the gears.

"How much of an idiot are you," Tsarzi rapped off tersely, quickly gathering her hip wrap around her injured hand and holding it tight with the other. Lupos was quick to approach when he heard aggression starting to color Tsarzi's voice. And he was none too please with the scent of blood that hit him beyond oils and upturned dirt and trolls.

The offending troll looked incredibly frazzled and exhausted, caked with dust that said they'd been here a while. Determined to see something finished or not, if you hit the point where your judgement had you making calls that were injuring your team of workers, it was time to leave.

The combined force of Lupos hovering and Tsarzi's sharp words got someone else to pick up machinery operations and to drag this twit to town hall for a proper dressing down.

Hand freshly wrapped, Tsarzi frowned lightly as she tested her range of motion. Those gears caught the side of her hand, so any large motions were a bit of a problem for now. It she held her palm nice and still, she could move her fingers individually, for all the good that would do. She could feel the automatic aggression at being injured for someone else's stupidity simmering still. Best to put that away, it wouldn't help. Unfortunately she couldn't do much either right now. She checked by the livestock pens to check the feeding plan and helped update a few others on the recent changes made.

Given the state of her hand, there wasn't much lifted Tsarzi could do on the roadwork right now. What she could do is go find out why most of the work crew were in a big cluster. Some investigation found it was some kid and a really, really soft lusus that loved attention. How mundane. Tsarzi was ready to start snapping at people to get back in gear when she was targeted by the thing. Irritating as it was, some of her ire was soothed by taking a moment to appreciate the soft coat. Many of the trolls working here had been at it a while too and probably needed a break. She could allow this, for now. After so long though, she started barking at trolls to get back to work or clear out and get someone else to take over.

This hand thing was going to get frustrating fast, Tsarzi could already tell. Spreading feed one handed was taking way too long, trying to groom or clean up or anything else just ate up too much time. She blew a sigh through her nose. An irritating set back caused by someone else being stupid. She'd mostly be doing management for now it seems. Time to make sure someone gets over here and does a better job.

Tsarzi spent time monitoring and getting road construction back on track after a lusus having an allergic reaction stumbled into the road and started lashing out. It was handled easily enough but folks were a little lost on how to get back on track. Tsarzi aw to that problem and got things running smoother than before. There was a lot less slacking around the settlement these days, with steady and strong progress on all fronts. Less halts due to lack of morale or laziness and more too much thinking or broken down parts, unforeseen troubles. Progress was being made though, visible progress everyday.

Management wasn't quite as handy for chores as it was with the larger projects. Chores were supposed to be simple enough that you didn't need someone hanging over you giving instruction. But there was fine tuning adjustment, some supervision that could befit and Tsarzi could do that. She found a newer pair of volunteers with the animals today and spent some time showing them the ropes.

Having heavy involvement with constructing the greenhouses and lusus quarters, Tsarzi knew a thing or two about construction coordination and the order of the process. That recent experience came in handy. Construction materials were placed in an orderly fashion and handed down a line and passed up to where it was set into place, an efficient little blueblood watching over and correcting the process as need be.

When Tsarzi passed by the animal pens, she noticed suspiciously matted fur on the livestock and that their pens hadn't been properly cleaned. She frowned lightly as she stalked off to city hall to hunt down whoever was supposed to have been by last to see to the animal care.

Work on the road was carrying on fine and the machinery was set aside for the moment. Tsarzi took the opportunity to grab a few trolls and teach them some basic repair and troubleshooting so that if any minor hiccups were hit and neither she or the more qualified mechanics are around, they had at least a basic understanding of what to try to get things running. There was extra attention given to safety protocol as she stared the trolls she was working with down. If she caught any of them screwing around with this stuff an not being safe, she would make sure they regretted it.

Tsarzi took the chance to cool her heels a bit but still be of use, distracting the livestock and giving them some attention while some other trolls went about cleaning and laying out food. Stressing wouldn't make her hand heal faster, but it made it no less a nuisance.

Nictor gladly handed off the tools he'd been asked to hold and shuffled along as Hemera's motions, relieved to be moving away from the parts of construction. The noise was unpleasant and drowning and the fear of getting run over or caught in gears or knocking into it would probably never completely go away. Nictor, more than anyone else, was perfectly aware of how he seemed to draw accidents and problems to himself.

Nictor blinked a couple times at the unexpected inquiry, drawn out of nervously scanning his surroundings for hazards in favor of one of the rare topics he was quite knowledgeable about.

"Oh, uh, w-well, it's, uh." Oh man where to even start. How do you make honey? That was a pretty long talk, he thought, so was she asking for a simpel answer or a long one? "I, uh, w-well, Bee's h-heavily i-involved. I-i-it's not s-something trolls c-c-can r----eally do on th---eir own. B-but, uh, m-me and Bee are w-w-working on a way f-f-for me to b----e more i-involved."

Oh wait, why did he bring that up, that would require more explanation on top of the first question she asked. He didn't even properly answer her question ahhhhhh. Nictor grimaced a little, trying to regather his thoughts that were trying to scatter out of his reach.

Before he could make any real progress though, they were halted by another volunteer, given some quick instructions on where to go, and had bags of gravel foisted on them. Oof, those were heavy oh wow. Nictor huffed a bit has he hoisted the bags, feeling the strain of weight but had a good hold and wasn't at risk of dropping it for now. but uh. now he had to get it here without dropping it.

Sephos Arbola

Yes, Sephos had seen the young blueblood working on the road when he'd come back to the settlement to work. He'd worked alongside them - but he'd been perfectly happy to work in silence, that being his natural, stoic state.

He joined the line this slightly rainy night, passing construction materials to the next troll ahead of him. It was cooperative. It was productive. It was beautiful.

He gave the troll (he thought their name was Tzarzi, but it was pretty immaterial) a respectful nod in greeting when he saw them next - and got back to work.

Sephos couldn't help but worry as he started to hear about the impending launches. People he knew and cared about were going into space now, far far away from the comfort of the soil beneath his feet.

He planted a plant for each of them, and hoped that, like the cycles of seasons, they would return...

Tsarzi found her time spent laboring on the road tonight with an older greenblood in her midst, one she recognized from the meeting with Panili. Sephos. She was still doing more coordination than heavy lifting with her hand as it was, but Tsarzi took some time to observe him. He worked peaceably but efficiently. She could appreciate the silence and the diligence. Head of greenhouse development but still putting in time for the rest of the settlement. All of this boded well in Tsarzi's book.

She offered a returning nod of acknowledgement when he noticed her. She could work with this.
