Severus let James, Sirius, and Remus go first so he could get the name of the address they were going to to return to the Shrieking Shack. He stumbled out and caught himself before he fell face first on the rotten wooden boards. "Well, that was an interesting experience."

Remus grabbed Severus' arm as he came out just to make sure he didn't fall. "Yes it was. But I'm glad that I got to rub it in my father's face that I'm more loved than he is."

Severus looked sadly at the ground. "You really hate him, don't you," he all but whispered.

Remus bit his lip at Severus' reaction. Did he hate Remus for the way he was acting? "Yes I do. He's the only person in the world I truly hate."
James frowned a bit. "Let's leave them alone Padfoot." He left hoping his friend was right behind.

Sirius nodded and followed swiftly, frowning as he left.
Severus bit his lip. He could understand hating his old man. Severus wasn't exactly fond of his own, but he didn't think he'd do anything like that to his father. Of course, his father was a drunk b*****d and probably wouldn't even notice if Severus came to see him on his deathbed or not. He told Remus that, sitting down heavily on a rickety-looking bed. "I just think it's sad, you know? To hate your old man so much to rub it in his face that you're gay is really sad."

Remus shook his head and sat down on a chair. "Severus don't you know me well enough to realize he had to do something really bad? And I wasn't planning on rubbing it in his face just showing him he was wrong. But when I saw he hadn't changed one bit that he still hated me when I've done nothing but love him for years I couldn't help it. I mean he's my father I tried so hard to be everything I thought he could want from me. But I couldn't change the two things that were the base of all his hatred. I will always be a half-blood and a werewolf. He blames me for that and has never let me forget all my life that it's mine and my mom's fault though he's the one who got a muggle pregnet and who wasn't watching his son during a full moon when he knew about werewolves. And if he had just abused me I wouldn't have hated him. But having to see him hit my mom and use magic against her when she had no way to defend herself it made me really mad at him. Then when he killed her last year and got away with it because muggle police looked into it and don't know about the killing curse it made me hate him. And I dispized him when he told me the reason he had done it was so that I would be alone because he found out she was going to leave so me and her would be safe. That's why I attacked him last year he had the nerve to confess all this to me the day I burried my mom. So I don't feel sorry for the way I acted today. And maybe I'll regret not trying one last time to mend our relationship one last time before he died in the future I think I could get over the regret quickly."

Severus sat in silence for a few minutes. "I... I never knew all of that. I can understand now why you would hate your father. I still think it's sad, but I understand now," he finally said quietly.

Remus moved over to him. "So does that mean you don't hate me? Because I really really like you Severus and i don't want this to end over something stupid like my father."

Severus looked up, his brow furrowed. "I never hated you because of your feelings for your family, Remus. It just made me sad, though I understand hating your father. Mine was a drunk b*****d that spent every penny we got on alcohol and never wasted a chance to beat me."

Remus sat down next to him. "I take it by your reaction to my feelings for my father you don't hate your's for what he did to you?" Remus wrapped his arms around Severus.

Severus shrugged. "It's not that I don't hate him. I just wish I had had a better relationship with him. I wish I had grown up with someone who loves me, you know?"

"Yes i know exactly what you mean because i feel the same way about my father." He sighed and laid his head on severus' shoulder. "I have to confess something. I lied earlier when we were at my father's place. What he said did hurt but I didn't want to give him the satisfaction of hurting me again. So thank you so much for standing up for me." He kissed Severus.

Severus blushed and looked down. "I suppose we should head up to the castle," he muttered after a few minutes. "No one knows where we are except Potter and Black, and I don't think they like me enough to lie or defend me just yet."
