Olan blushed as he was placed on Dustynn's back. He hadn't expected this, but it was probably better than being carried bridal style. He stared at the vines that now seemed to die away from the ground before the gang leader closed the door and locked it.

Curious and wanting to know if it was safe to stand, Olan touched the ground, which now felt normal. He then got off Dustynn's back, glad to be standing again without having to worry about what would happen. Smiling in delight, he walked around in circles, enjoying the feel of the ground on his feet.

The purple haired boy looked strangely at the younger boy, shaking his head with a small smile gracing his features. What a kid. You really never know how great it is to be able to walk until it's taken from you. Dustynn didn't even know what it felt like to not be able to talk, so he knew that Olan would be incredibly pleased when the Demon gave him his voice back.

Then the thought hit him. What if he never gave it back? That would be horrible. Olan would be a mute his entire life. It would clearly back up Dustynn's story that his younger brother was a mute, but would it really be worth it? The gang leader loved the boy, and having to live with him being mute was something that he would gladly do for him; but was it really worth it for the other boy?

Olan, noticing some thoughtful atmosphere around Dustynn, walked over to him with curious and worried eyes. "What's wrong?" he mouthed. He was sure that there was a problem going on in the gang leader's mind. Whatever it was, it may be directed at him. Perhaps Dustynn was worried about the Demon? It would be reasonable if the Demon was bothering him, since the gang leader liked Olan and the Demon seemed to be after him.

Though he didn't know why, Olan couldn't help but feel sad as if whatever Dustynn was thinking may be about something negative. What was it? His not being able to speak? The Demon coming after him for a reason unknown? Maybe both? Either way, they were both possible and most likely candidates for any negative thoughts were going through Dustynn's mind.

"I-It's nothing." Dustynn muttered, reaching out his hand for Olan's. "We're never going in my room again, understood?" He asked, not allowing his eyes to find the younger boy's figure. He knew pretty well that the Demon was probably going to find a way to come out, but it seemed that everything bad happened while Olan was in his room. It was just a stupid precaution.

"By the way, what did that Demon tell you anyway?" The young gang leader asked, finally turning to face the younger boy. "Why he keeps on disappearing when I show up, why he keeps on coming... why he wants you..." Dustynn said the last one with clear disdain.

At hearing Dustynn's questions, Olan shook his head. He didn't know how to answer them, nor did he knew the complete answer. All he knew about the Demon was that he was somehow afraid of Dustynn and he wanted Olan for something... terrible. Being the "Devil's vessel" Olan had some power that he didn't want. People always seemed to treat him like a feared, sadistic prince or a pest.

"I don't know the answers. I'm sorry," Olan mouthed, looking up at Dustynn to make sure he can see his face. "All I know is that the Demon wants me for something and he's afraid of you." Hearing the strangeness of Dustynn's voice was also causing Olan to be afraid.

"Oh, I see. Understood." The purple haired boy smiled lightly, finally arriving in the kitchen. "Are you hungry? You haven't eaten anything since last night, and it's almost noon." Dustynn remarked, looking up at the clock hanging above the stove.

As he went about making lunch for himself, he kept on pondering what Olan had said. The demon wanted Olan for something... and he was afraid of the gang leader. What was there to be afraid of? Nothing much if Dustynn thought about it. Maybe the answer would come in time, when the Demon would face him himself.

As if on cue, Olan's stomach suddenly growled, and he blushed in embarrassment. He had never really thought about how long he had gone without eating or drinking. No wonder he felt tired all the time.

'Well, it could have been worse,' Olan thought to himself. 'Actually, everything could be worse, so I should be relieved that I'm only here instead of wherever the Demon lives.' What exactly did the Demon want? Perhaps to help him rule the world? Nah. Olan wasn't known throughout the world. Just New York and possibly some other places.

"What do you want? There's pizza, sandwiches... I can make you anything you want really..." Dustynn muttered, bending down to look into the fridge. There was bread, soup, cold pizza, chicken, steak; all kinds of food that Dustynn knew had been from yesterday. To be in a gang, going on a diet is like asking someone to shoot you. Any and all food that was in the fridge was eaten within a 24 hour period, no questions asked.

"Sure... I'll take a pizza if you don't mind." Marissa smirked, placing her elbow on top of Olan's head. "So... how'z the little mute boy? Still can't talk, huh?" She asked, ruffling his hair a bit with her other hand.

Olan shook his head to answer Marissa's question, though it hurt because of the elbow on his head. He wanted to ask her to remove it from there, but what if she doesn't want to? Then he shouldn't say anything, or in this case mouth anything.

Now, thinking back to Dustynn's question before, what did he want? There were a lot of things in the fridge, but they all looked a bit unfamiliar to him. Maybe because all his life he had trouble affording things similar to those just sitting in the fridge. It was strange to him, actually. One day he was all alone and always being pushed toward death and now he had somebody who cared about him and would do anything to pull him away from death. For being a cursed boy, this change seemed to be a blessing.

Dustynn glared at the older girl, lifting his shirt up slightly to reveal the knife in his belt. "You will get off of him, or lose that arm entirely." He said calmly, a smirk gracing his features. He reached all the way into the back of the fridge to grab the box of pizza before he closed the door.

Marissa growled quietly at the gang leader, but got removed her elbow from the younger boy's head. She walked over the young gang leader and grabbed the box, walking away from the two boys as she began to eat a slice. "I'm fine with it cold."

Dustynn made a 'tch' sound with his teeth. "Women... and she wonders why I dislike them." He muttered, going back into the fridge.

As Marissa walked away, Olan sighed in relief, though without his voice the sigh was very airy, and then he took a seat. He was already missing the ability to talk, but maybe he'll get it back before long. It's not like it's the end of the world or anything.

Letting out a silent giggle, Olan smiled a bit. "Well, you can't expect everyone to know why you dislike one category or something," he mouthed. "It's quite natural."

Getting off the chair, he walked over to Dustynn and began to take a peek at the contents of the fridge. There were so many things in there that it seemed impossible to choose, but his attention was leaning mostly toward the steak. It was very strange, since he usually wasn't the kind to eat meat without anything to go with it, for example lettuce.

Dustynn laughed with the boy's mouthed reply. "You're right... I expect too much out of her." He said softly. He was quite surprised to see Olan next to him, looking into the fridge. He also saw him eyeing the steak, so he took it out. "You want this? I'll make something to go with it." He smiled kindly.

The door slammed and the smile disappeared from Dustynn's face like someone had streaked an eraser across a pencil drawing of him. Lorin and Kaisin were walking in with the rest of the gang, probably looking for something to eat.

"Well, well, well Boss. Playing 'wife' for your little boyfriend?" Lorin asked, a smirk touching his lips. Dustynn glared at the young man, but shook it off, closing his eyes and smirking himself.

"Well... if you don't want me to play 'wife' to Olan... that means that 'mother' isn't going to be making you lunch; is that what you want?" He asked, opening his eyes and glaring playfully at Lorin. He grimaced, turning away with embarrassment. "Good, now shut up and sit down." Dustynn ordered, scooting Olan over to a chair in the corner of the kitchen.

Olan took a seat at the corner, though he didn't know what for. Maybe to keep him away from the rest of the gang. Well, he wouldn't mind sitting with them, though. At least they're not so bad as the Demon that kept harrassing him for a reason he wouldn't let anyone know just yet.

Now, back to the scene at hand, Olan couldn't help but let out a silent laugh. It was funny, at least to him, though he couldn't picture Dustynn playing the wife or something of the sort. Older brother would probably be more accurate.

Dustynn set about making lunch, setting it on the table for every one of the gang members. Marissa was probably still mad at him, since she hadn't come down at all. Lorin glared at Dustynn the entire time he was cooking and serving, which made Dustynn give him his food last.

"Here you go sweetheart." Dustynn smiled evilly, using a higher pitched voice as he set Lorin's food down in front of him. The young man's patience snapped and a fist came flying at Dustynn's head, connecting with his eye. "Hmph... I guess I deserved that." He muttered with a small smile, placing one hand over his now bleeding pupil.

He slowly got up and walked over to Olan wit his food, giving it to the younger boy. Then he disappeared upstairs toward the bathroom, where Marissa seemed to be waiting. "You screwed up, didn't you?" She asked, expecting the gang leader to nod. He did, then went into the bathroom, running water over his eye.

Olan grew frightened as soon as Dustynn left the room and so he immediately and quietly followed, stopping when the gang leader entered the bathroom. He was scared of being left alone, especially with the gang downstairs. One reason was the Demon, who would always appear when Dustynn wasn't there, and another reason was because Olan was afraid of the gang.

Half-expecting the ground to begin to burn, Olan cautiously scanned his surroundings. The hallway was still a little dark despite the morning light. Was it natural or was the Demon going to appear again? So far nothing was happening, so the answer seemed to lean more toward natural. Of course, he can't say for sure.
