That doesn't really surprise me. It's an old series from the 80s-ish.
Sci-Fi/Fantasy in the sense of D&D meets cyberpunk.

It's a great series. A bunch of books, written by a bunch of different authors.
If you don't like one, try another. You'll probably find someone you like. xd
