Pru checked her watch. Their time on the pitch was running short, and she still needed to confer with Joel about the team. She had an idea of the lineup, and she was pretty sure he would agree, but in case he didn't, they had to have time to debate. "Alright!" she yelled. "I'm calling tryouts now! I need everyone to help put away the equipment while Joel and I discuss the lineup. There's healing potions down below for anyone who wants them." She waved Joel over, a pensive look on her face.

  ✮ Sɛƈօռɖ Yɛαʀ Gʀʏʄʄɨռɖօʀ ✮ Gid slowed to a stop when Pru called an end to tryouts. He finally let himself realize how out of breath he was, and just how badly his shoulder hurt. He nodded at the Captain, then looked at the healing potions she'd mentioned. With all the nimbleness he could manage, he flew down and grabbed one, struggling for a moment to open the bottle, before drinking it. It made his shoulder feel funny, so he made a face at it. It didn't hurt, it just wasn't normal. He flew over to where the team was posted, and read the list through. Everyone was expected, until he got to the third Chaser. His own name looked foreign, but he blinked a few more times before beaming. He had made the team! Gid flew to the bench and hurriedly got off his broom, standing once he had his crutches. He hurried over to Rhys, shoulder aching a bit as he walked quickly toward his friend. "Rhys! I-I did it! I made the team! Not the reserves, either! I did it! I really did!" He was grinning more than he probably ever had, completely stoked to have made the team. He never thought it possible to have made it. And he did it on his own merit! Sure, he hadn't been the best, but he tried with every ounce of his ability, and he did it!

The weather was decent, for Scotland, anyways, and she had higher hopes for her team this year than she'd had last year. ...Or the year before. She had more experience as a captain now, the team had more experience working together, and while they hadn't exactly had a winning streak last year, they hadn't humiliated themselves the way they had the year before that either. She wanted at least one good Quidditch year before she graduated. Preferably two in a row, this year and next, but she'd settle for one.

  ✬Ƭнιя∂ Ƴєαя Ɠяуƒƒιη∂σя Ƈнαѕєя✬ Gid hopped happily onto the quidditch pitch, ready to start a new year. He had made some great memories playing this very sport last year, so of course he was back. In fact, he'd figured out non-magic ways to practice his spot. He'd even gotten his parents to help! Not that it was terribly hard, given that they were both happy he'd found a constructive use of his free time. Plus, it would give him a way to negate stress caused by more classes this year! Perfect planning! He smiled over at his Captain, hoping she was just as eager as he was. The teen grabbed paperwork and filled it out, smiling all the while. Fianna Grey
Gryffindor │ First Year │ Eleven Years Old │ Single │ Position
It was with great anticipation that Fianna rushed out to the pitch to tryout for the Gryffindor Quidditch team. While it was true she was only a First Year student, and barely had any real experience on a broomstick, let alone actually playing the game, but none of that mattered to the little eleven year old witch. She was determined to prove she belonged on the team, and could play the game even if most of the players were older and bigger than she. As far as she was concerned it wasn't the size of the lion in the fight that mattered, it was the size of the fight in the lion that did.
The only downer in her quest to make the team thus far was her inability to get a real broomstick for tryouts. School brooms were ... okay for Flying class, but one couldn't expect a Seeker to get anywhere on one of those old rides. Linny refused to part with hers, reminding her the rules required First Years to use school brooms not privately owned ones ('man, I know she's a Prefect and all, but jeez, she could make an exception for her little cousin, you'd think,' she thought), and Hannah needed hers for her own tryout.
Still, Fianna tried to look like she could take on anybody. She wore her emerald green Irish team jersey over a pair of jeans and a well worn pair of sneakers. Her long red hair was pulled back so it wouldn't fly into her face, and tied with a red and gold ribbon.
There really weren't a lot of kids on the pitch when she got there, and none she really recognized, which was hardly surprising, as she was likely one of the youngest students there at tryouts. She said, "Hi," to the captain as she picked up a form, and started filling it out. "I'm hoping there's a space for me on the team." Here was where it would all begin for her.
