With the quaffle in tow, Jordan headed down the pitch. Honestly, he thought he was doing pretty well so far. Not only did he (just barely) avoid a bludger, but he also beat Shui for the toss up. Hopefully, the rest of tryouts continued with this luck.

Lucas was pleasantly surprised when Roland made his way over to him as he hadn’t any idea his friend was trying out for Quidditch. The fact that Luke had no idea was arguably his fault since he didn’t even bother asking. “Hey!” he exclaimed. “My mom told me quite a bit about it,” he began. “Essentially, there are four positions: keeper, chaser, beater and seeker. The beater and seeker positions seem to be the most fun – though my mom said chaser was. Chasers score on the other team while keepers block their shots. Beaters get to hit bludgers towards other players to try and knock them out of the game, and seekers win the game by finding and catching a little ball called the golden snitch.” Just as he had finished explaining the four positions and Roland filled in his form, their attention was called. Once in the air after warming up, Lucas watched the other players before deciding to target Shui, who had tried to go up for the toss up.

Saffron mounted her broom and ascended into the air and completing the three laps around the pitch. As the quaffle was released, she watched Shui shoot after it, only beaten by Jordan. That was who she flew after. As she grew nearer, she reached out to steal the quaffle, hopefully successfully.

The blond didn't think the first time he felt bludger pain would be his own fault, but it happened. spaceRoland didn't feel particularly prepared for actually having to block the shot. Then again, every other position didn't even get that option, seeing as they all played active roles in the game. He just hoped he didn't make an utter fool out of himself as he darted after the ball, hoping to stop it from going through the hoops.

spaceRoland caught the ball. Then froze for a second in utter shock, because that had actually been pretty easy. Probably beginner's luck, but he wasn't complaining. He wracked his brain trying to remember the names of his chaser teammates. "Uh! S-Saffron? Catch!" he called out, passing the ball to the red-haired girl. He guessed it was lucky she reminded him vaguely of his sister, with the red hair and plant name.
