They do to a certain extent Roo, as i've found when i've tried to create new accounts and get told i cannot have a certain name because it's too similar to another.
But Lil i do hope you can do something about this silly girl, reporting seems a bit harsh for what is obviously a dumb kid neutral

What annoyed me was that person who pm'd tried to "gently" let me know that chain letters shouldn't be passed on and that one could get one's account "banned" for it... argh.

Though the pm was nice, it came across like a patient parent attempting to correct an annoying toddler. I kindly pm'd back listing the full name of the likely suspect and indicating the adult me wouldn't be sending those types of pm's, thank you very much.

My concern is are the mods really going to pay much attention to the fact that the names are similiar before harshing on me. sad

And thanks ladies, for letting me rant. heart

It is concerning, that similar names are allowed - I see varieties of the same name, e.g. "User" or "~User~", because somebody was determined to have a particular name, although the original was already taken. Another friend has changed her name recently, because there was someone with a similar name, who apparently had a less than spotless reputation in Gaia - and the backlash was affecting my friend. You just hope that the Admins/Mods will check thoroughly before issuing any warnings, etc., to innocent users.

That's pretty horrible, Lil Brat. At least you handled it in an adult and kindly fashion. Just reminding people that there's a difference between Lil Brat and Lil Brat-with-Tildas or Lil Brat-in-Brackets or whoever she is.
People may not grasp it, but when you remind them gently, they'll understand and you'll have made the world a slightly better place.

That kind of thing happens in politics all the time, too.

Then we can find those freaks who are sullying our names, shave off all their hair and glue it back on in the wrong places.

Today's Vehicles ~ nothing is accessable to fix for yourself... why back in my day you could replace some of this junkies yourself... and when certain less expensive things went out, the car didn't continue to try to go in a self-destructive (100x more expensive) manner. stare

Too much snow, too long of a driveway, and only a shovel to get us out...

My daughter is shoveling snow into a pile that is as tall as her on both sides of the driveway

We need more snow. I wish we could take some of yours Lil-Jo. We're 8.5ins below normal rainfall here, and I'd much rather get snow than rain. I'd take either though. .....And if it's gonna be this freekin' cold, we could at least have snow so we can enjoy it.

My complaint of the day is that I had to separate from my husband again to visit/take care of my mom. My husband is in Colorado and I am now in California for the next six months.
I'm not complaining about taking care of my mom, my complaint is that I can't handle it. My mom is now diabetic and I am helping her get her out of control glucose levels to calm down. They go from very low to very high often.
My mom is obese and losing weight so she can have a gastric bypass operation. Because she has been overweight almost her entire life, she has few friends, and none of them like to be active or do things. But my mom wants to travel and have good friends she can count on and share memories with. She is very lonely and lives in a big house she inherited when her father died.
I am here to help and to keep her company. But I don't want to live with her and take care of her like she did for her father when he got older. I want her to lose some weight so she can be more active and not be lonely. I want to get back to Colorado and see my husband. I hope I don't change too much in the next six months.
So that is my complaint for today!

Here, here ~ totally in agreement. Big hugs to you and Harbone. And hope your mom gets her diabetes under control. My mom has it too, and has always been overweight. Her weight continues to climb and she's not been very active, topped with depression, she only goes out to go to work. Very concerning for me, but not much I can do as she won't listen to me. Hopefully your mom has reached the place where she's ready to take care of things. 3nodding

Bless you Umberella for what you are doing for her, I realize it is hard and not what you really want to be doing, but you are a wonderful person for it. Keep your spirits up.

Good luck, Umberella, with all the issues with your mother. It sounds sort of like my mother's situation, and we're starting to look into getting some kind of help for them. Just remember to take care of yourself so you'll have something to help other people with!
