Unable to tell the Kagami clone from the original, Obei would keep her same tone and voice. It wasn't that she was stupid, just inexperienced. She had walked in on another person, the clone having switched from talking about food to the same cheery demeanor that she had since they last spoke.
"How was your training? Are you strong yet?"
"Train good. Feel stronger." Obei commented. Her metallic fingers flex a little, balling into a fist before returning to an idle state. "Want to know. Where find weapon? Obei use one good. Want large one. Club." It was a long shot but maybe there was one lying around she could use or at least Kagami would know where to find one. If anything, it was a nice side activity besides murdering people all the time. She reached down to the gourd on her back and took a long swig before continuing on. "Kah-Gah-Mi need help? Obei ready." Her sniffle didn't go by unnoticed either. "Need blanket?"

If she liked her ramen? Lady, please. Depending on the identity, she was talking to the second, third, and fifth best ramen chef in the guild world. Only that Toso in Arashigakure was better than her at cooking probably, if she was being honest. It wasn't squidboi's fault she never paid any attention while she was working there. Another had come, Obei apparently, but Megumi didn't stick around any longer than she needed to. It was the kitchens for her.
Hokai, so she had her demands with a job on the line. Shrimp ramen was easy as, after all. Pretty much the same as all the rest of the ramen she made to be quite honest. It all really depended on what the Institute had on hand for her. [Kitchen Preparation I: 1/2]
It wasn't Ichiraku, that was to be sure. Megumi set about washing the dishes. Wiped down the counters with rags and alcohol. Got all of the knives out and extorted some sharpening gear from a nearby. She picked out the best looking pots and bowls for the set up. Presentation was key, after all. [Kitchen Preparation I: 2/2]
Cow bones were placed into a bowl full of water, and she set those aside. Then she took two pots and filled it with water. Then the water was set to boil; one of them quickly, another slowly. She dropped noodles into the slow pot. Lastly the vegetables she needed were set on a counter. [Food Preparation I: 1/4]
She took the cow bones out of the bowl and to the sink. She poured out the water and rinsed off the bones themselves. Then she dropped them into the high heat pot of water and closed the lid, letting the bones boil quickly. She made sure that she had garlic and onions and leeks nearby. Carrots were refused, again, and told the cook who suggested them to go flip burgers [Food Preparation I: 2/4]
Once the bones had boiled, she poured them out into the sink and rinsed them off. Using the same pot, she threw more water into it. Then hse added the bones and garlic into the pot. After hacking the onions and leeks up she threw those in too. She set them on a low boil, and covered the pot. [Food Preparation I: 3/4]
Lastly was the meats, so some shrimp and bacon were acquired. The latter was placed on a board and cut, thrown into a skillet. Once it was crispy, she took out the pieces and threw the shrimp right into the grease along with some seasonings, especially garlic and a bit butter. She had time to wait on the noodles, since they were wheat and thicker than most, just letting the seafood slowly cook. [Food Preparation I: 4/4]
Broth complete, she poured a little in to a bowl. With just a fork and a few passed she loaded that thing with noodles. Then came more onions and leeks, staying away from vegetables that she didn't tolerate in her foods. Finally she'd add the bacon and shrimps with a bit of chakra through her fingers, still sizzling, and a bit of seaweed. It seemed like a habit, but she had once again forgotten any kind of egg, but said screw it. [Actual Cooking (E)]
Since time is weird, the half hour at most she'd spent in the kitchens translated to next to naught back at Kagami's Office, where Obei was still waiting. Hell, the two of them could share. There was plenty more where that came from, since single serving ramen wasn't really a thing unless you didn't want to eat for the rest of the day."Ta Da."she'd announce with a giggle, walking right up to the desk with a passing knock to the door, setting the bowl down away from the paperwork and nonsense. Clenching her fist two metal chopsticks flew up from between her fingers, set down right next to the bowl. It wouldn't take much focus for the Kogarashi leader to notice they were no mere eating implements, but folded chakra steel throwing needles, which didn't need to be sharp, so they perfectly doubled as utensils. After only the first bite she'd feel her total chakra capacity spike, too. Not by much, 5 in fact, so it'd might hard to tell for certain, but the feeling would be present. Not that the dog girl waited for Kagami to even take a bite before she asked"So when do I start?"

__ When Obei mentioned needing a club Kagami began to think of where she could acquire one within the Institute. A club was certainly fitting of Obei, that oni girl was not the subtle type. "You're a gem, a blanket would be good." Kagami would never turn down the prospect of someone serving her in some way. Whether or not she truly needed the blanket remained to be seen. Truth be told, pitting the two great nations against each other in a world war was stressful work. "As for your weapon, go find that Karleen girl and ask her to make you one. She has blue hair that covers her right eye." Kagami resumed reading her papers for another half hour as she assumed that Obei disappeared to find her a blanket. When the girl set the table for her at her desk she enjoyed the aroma of the meal. Normally, Kagami would force one of her guards to taste the food first, but if worse came to worst then the shadow clone would just poof. She glanced up when the white-haired girl spoke of when she would start. Kagami's mask was stoic as she faced the stranger but, internally, she appreciated the confidence. She used a Chinese spoon to taste the broth and appreciate the ramen's aromatic nodes. It was traditional to taste the broth first, after all. She used the crafted chopsticks to shovel the noodles into her mouth with urgency. Seeing as how Kagami skipped breakfast, she was eager to satisfy her appetite. She smiled as she tasted the delicious noodles. She then used her chopsticks to pluck the shrimp out and place into her mouth. Once the deeper twinges of hunger were satisfied, she wiped her mouth. She returned her attention to the girl and would withhold giving an answer for now. "What's your name? Where do you come from?" She asked these questions with squinted eyes. It was not an everyday occurrence that a total stranger walked into the Institute to cook her delicious food. There must have been a catch in this arrangement somewhere.

Just as the man had stepped off to train, the blue haired witch of the organization would make her feeling known. Her loathing for Takumi. Not that he didn't expect it as she had pierced his flesh in an act of passion, taking what she wanted. Her whisper in his ear caused him no emotional response. He was actually somewhat perturbed she thought he cared so much. Takumi's mechanisms were much more intricate than to be overtaken by such a small set back as death. To think, she underestimated him to the point where she didn't expect him to have planned for his own death. " I would think, dear Kagami you had more understanding of perception...having such a prowess with illusions." His face remained unchanged, letting her step back towards the husband she had acquired. While some variables had changed, everything was within the scope of his abilities to control.
It seemed Kagami was distracted from Takumi's presence as Masato began to engage the creatures created for him to train upon. After several minutes the man had completely annihilated the forces mustered to oppose him. He watched in awe, this man's raw power was incredible. Even without tapping into his demon, Masato was able to repel thirty creatures of massive sizes and varying abilities. " Kagami...is this the man that accompanied Taylor in Uzugakure?" He recalled her report, recalling her saying he could be a problem later...but with the tides turned it seemed he might be an invaluable asset to them. He would await the answer as Masato would approach the group again, completed with his training.
Sweat beginning to form on his brow as he let the earth settle around him, His giant Susano'o disspelled. He would approach the group once more. He had utilized but a handful of his skills, relying mostly on his strength and speed to destroy the creatures. His gifts were used mainly to supplement the skills he used physically. He arrived, standing before Sandayu. " Well then. What's next?" He hadn't heard Kagami's screams not to destroy the armies as he was actively engaged in destroying the creatures...not that it would've stopped him.

No mention was made of the weapons conjured, nor did Megumi see any fluctuations in Kagami's chakra other than what the ramen provided. It was a clone anyways, which she had slim patience for dealing with over the years and ages of Kages. Some slack would be given since she did kind of want this job and that she was curious about demon. So far she'd only met the Kyuubi's hosts. This woman came across like one who'd look a gift horse in the mouth, giving Meg the inclination this wasn't just some regular hangout of ninjas."Yamahana Megumi. My family comes from the Floodlands, but since I grew up and started cooking, I move every few years. I've even gotten the chance to work in the ninja villages. Honestly they've been the best customers. So many stories."The tales and travels of all her aliases were one in the same really, with slight variations depending on her transformations. She went with the wind and her whims all the same. That wasn't going to be enough to satisfy this person's nature by a long shot though, and made herself at home by taking a seat, her hands in her lap, eyeing her own chopsticks so she wouldn't forget them later."A few ninjas would teach me some of their simple slight of hand stuffs, or you get really good with knives in the kitchen, or get fancy chopsticks as a date gift. I can even make a little chakra to put in food, though I'm not very good at it. No need for you to be shy though! __ The Kogarahi forces were nearly finished disposing of their fallen comrades when a massive gravitational force was created on the far side of the abyssal plain. A moment later, the massive creatures that Masato had been tasked with defeating were utterly crushed. Almost the entire army was once again struck in awe by Masato's overwhelming presence, but this time it was his power alone that earned their attention. Likewise, Sandayu was impressed with how well his brother handled his first trial. In fact he was glad that it wasn't too terribly difficult for Masato to overcome. Kagami was significantly less appreciative of how he handled Takumi's monsters, but at least her concern was in vain. No further casualties were suffered to the remaining forces there in the Kamui dimension, aside from the lingering dissonance between Kogarashi's leader and Takumi, who carried himself less like the rat she described and more like a snake biding his strength for a more worthy battle. Sandayu appeared disinterested in their bickering, but was no less wary of it all the same.
Sanda smiled ever so slightly toward his triumphant brother and gave him a respectful bow of acknowledgment. "Well done, Masato. You controlled your fear and channeled it into power- your own power." He looked to Kagami for a moment then back to Masato. "Before we proceed to your next lessons, there is news." Sandayu briefly hooked an arm around Kagami's waist and maneuvered her to stand presented between the two brothers. "Kagami Hari is my wife. Our partnership is mostly sustained on our shared desire for vengeance against the shinobi nations." He emphasized that keyword as admittance to himself and her that there was in fact more to his opinion of their union. Than the original business offer. He wasn't great with words, but he trusted that she wouldn't misunderstand his intent. His gazed moved up from the top of her head to meet his brother's eyes. "Use her as an object of your hatred and frustration for your inadequacies, but know that she is not for you to harm." It was doubtful that Masato would understand now, but this designated rule too was a test for him to understand his own power. One day, he would hopefully pass this trial too.
After making this declaration to Masato, and giving him time to process and understand it, Sandayu addressed Kagami. "Kagami, I must continue my brother's training and further reinforce our army. Is there anything else you need of me before I proceed?" As one in full control of his mother's power of creation he was glad to grant her anything she could ask for. A side glance shifted to Takumi as well, "Or you, perhaps?" The scientist wouldn't be allowed to use excuses regarding supplies or materials, and successful results were expected more than anything else. He was free to work however he saw fit as long as Kogarashi's goals under the rule of Kagami were prioritized.

Obei remained quiet, comitting the name to memory. "Kar-Lee-Nuh." she said to herself before standing up and beginning to slowly wander outside the office. Her stoic gaze wandered along the corridors before she moved away from the office and toward somebody that would actually point her in the right direction. A passing guard would be stopped by her, the towering woman kneeling own. "Want blanket. Know where find?" He silently pointed the way to the supply closet as Obei would hurry and fetch a clean looking blanket. After she had stepped out, the nearby guard would be stopped again. "Obei look for Kar-Lee-Nuh. If see, let Kar-Lee-Nuh know." After that, the woman set off and returned to Kagami's office just as she was testing the meal prepared for her.
Her thudding footsteps approached Kagami and gently placed the blanket around her like her mother had done to her. Obei hesitated for a moment, but gently removed her gauntlets, each falling to the floor with a heavy thud. The oni's hands were a cool blue color, a dim, pulsating light coming from them. Kagami might even feel how cold they must be as the giant's hands laid the blanket over her. Once she was done, Obei picked up both of her weapons and equipped them once more. Each hand fit perfectly, balling into a fist once before relaxing.

__ Mirie scrambled about the Master Smith's workshop. He had tasked her with various cleaning tasks for the time being. Right now she was on dusting duty. Miri spared no effort in working from high to low. "Hmmn mm mm mmmnmm~!" She knew she just had to get everything out on the ground so she could sweep it up later.
Every nook and cranny she could find was hit with the feather duster in hand. The smith was busy with his work. He didn't really want to have to micromanage a prospective apprentice anyway. If he had to tell her what to do with little things like this then he wouldn't bother teaching her diddly squat. "C'mon lassy, d'ya really call that sweeping!?" A gruffly-toned scolded came from in between the clangs of hammer on hot metal. The target of the scolding was none other than a strawberry blond-haired hopeful apprentice. "Y-yes Master! I'm sorry Master!" Mirie found a well of energy and motivation in that moment and she better committed herself to each sweeping brush of the broom firmly grasped in her hands.

Just as Mirie put the broom away she heard a small bell ring at the front of the workshop. She looked around like she were confused. "Lass, go see who that is." Then it struck her as far more obvious than she initial realized. "Oh of course, Master. I'll take assist your clients!" Mirie stumbled a little as she rushed to the front to greet the guest. A young man stood alone around the middle of the front room of the workshop and called out, "HELLLLLOOOO!? Anyone ho-" Mirie tripped out through a cloth dividing the front and back of the facility. "... home? Uhh... you okay there?" He asked while Mirie pulled herself up on the backside of the counter.
Mirie managed to get back firmly onto her feet and replied to him, "I-I'm okay! How can I assist you!?" Then she JUST remembered that she hadn't really taken the time to greet him, "OH! Welcome to our-" The smith yelled from the back, "MY WORKSHAP, lassy!" She perked up and corrected herself, "Ah right. Master J'gord's Workshop!" Mirie sighed heavily, knowing full well that she totally botched the first part of that customer interaction. Thankfully, he still bought something and seemed to leave satisfied. 'This is so much harder than I thought...' She was a little discouraged but pulled it back together to push on.
It wasn't like she had any other options to pursue. This had to work out or she was really as good as a goner. Mirie spent the next while wiping down the surfaces up front. She also took some time to polish some of J'gord's pieces to make sure they looked that much better for the next customer. Mirie would continue from where she left off before. She headed into the back and the smith took a break from hammering to talk to her, "Look'ere lassy. Ya've got to keep your wits about ya if yer going to work 'ere." Mirie stopped to listen, of course, and she bowed apologetically after hearing her teacher's words. "Yes! Certainly, Master. I will try harder, I promise!" She rose up from her bow and he just shook his head a little.
J'gord sighed and added, "No, lassy, don't try harder. Try your best. Never do less than your best or y'll just never do enough every time." Mirie just stared back at her teacher with deep inspiration embedded in her gaze. She was nearly brought to tears before she responded with newfound purpose, "Yes! I will do my best, Master!" Mirie took her newfound purpose and respect for J'gord with every step moving forward. She wasn't making any nifty tools or anything yet. However, that was fine. She was learning a lot. Mirie moved on to her next task. For a while she would just focus on picking up any tools or supplies that were laying around.
The tools she recovered were either returned to their individual homes or put aside near the smith for his convenience. She tried not to hover too much, but she couldn't help but take a few pauses to watch him work while she busied herself. He was really diligent and seemed to put the same amount of force in every single blow made against the metal he was molding. 'Whoa...' __ Kagami was not bothered by Takumi's response. She felt satisfied just by tormenting him and stripping him of his pride. She was completely secure in her understanding of perception. When Masato approached them, Kagami re-examined the army and noticed that they seemed unharmed and that the meathead only killed what he was supposed to. She refrained from apologizing for the misunderstanding as that would feel like a defeat in some way. When Masato approached them and Sandayu pulled her in close she wrapped both arms around his abdomen in an affectionate embrace from the side. She stared at Masato and spoke to buttress Sandayu's point. "Now that we see each other plain, Masato, I'd like to make it official that the past is in the past. After all, we're family now, my dear brother-in-law." Kagami enjoyed toying with Masato's feeble mind so she savored the moment of this reveal. A wicked smile peeled over her face as she might watch him squirm. Truth be told, however, she was loyal to Masato as her husband's brother so long as he followed in lockstep with them. "I really should get going." Kagami said as a response to Sandayu's question. She now waited for him to get her out of this drab dimension. When it was just the two of them alone it was a paradise, but when it was crowded it was dull and somewhat irritating.
She felt the blanket being wrapped around her as she continued eating her ramen and listening to Megumi's story. She shivered that Obei's ice-like fingers. It was like getting the blanket had a price to it. Kagami preferred to wear revealing clothing which sacrificed her ability to stay warm. She glanced over at Obei when she asked if Kagami needed more hope. "Hope? What do you mean?" She asked for clarification before returning her full attention to Megumi. Kagami supposed that she might as well continue to engage with her in conversation since she made her such a delicious lunch. The woman may be spoiled, but she had a sense of propriety. "What do you think of the villages?" She asked the question flatly before slurping some more noodles. She would not answer the question of who she was just yet. Kagami was far from shy and she was her own favorite subject of conversation. "You should know who I am." This was all she would respond with. Kagami certainly believed herself to be a famous revolutionary leader and expected others to know of her. This was especially the case for someone like Megumi who walked into the Kogarashi Institute and enterred the office of its leader.

Friend to it's former member. It was worth watching to him. Was his apperance simply the whim of Sandayu, or something more? As the demi-god would wrap up his time in the dimension, he would ask if his wife and Takumi needed anything before he departed with his brother. " Ah. Yes there is, actually." He said, reaching into his robe to reveal a small rolled leather case that contained several empty vials. A syringe would be provided. " I require a blood sample of each of you. After seeing the potential of your creations, I could easily augment each of the soldiers with some of the attributes of it's strongest members." His fox like smile masked his face as he provided the tools for each of them to remove their own samples. "Everything else I need is available in this dimension."

His brother's praise was appreciated. He felt a sense of belonging he had not since his time with Monk Anji. He would nod with confidence in gratitude. Then, his brother's gaze met Masato's. His words, using her as an object of hatred and frustration. It was what he had already done. It was a pillar to found his resolve upon. He would use his hatred of loss and his disdain for the woman to fuel his training. Masato would nod silently, his eyes moving over to Kagami as she spoke to him now. Her words were ironic, even to Masato. He refrained from laughing. After all, this family had a tenancy to kill off one another. It was most likely a family nobody would gladly bring themselves into. What he hadn't thought of was the contradictory words of his in-law against his brother's. Using her as a source of hatred was impossible if the past was forgiven. No, Masato would long hold onto this grudge in silence, for now. The blonde man who was related to Chie asked for blood samples. He would shrug, volunteering a sample of his DNA into the vial." One brown eye and two dull amber eyes gazed up at the massive building that was the Kogarashi institute in awe. Coming from deep in the mountains and on her own for the most part, Mao had never actually seen a building quite like it. Standing just outside the front doors Mao couldn't even count the number of wings it seemed to have on one hand. Tetsu slid his head underneath Mao's chin gently shoving the young girls mouth shut. "Stop staring and go." He hissed quietly in her ear. "Right..." Mao muttered, but remained where she stood. There were more people going in out of the building than she would have ever dreamed of. For a moment she was slightly intimidated by the crowd. Having come from a fairly sheltered life away in the mountains it was slightly overwhelming. She placed a hand on Tetsu for reassurance before making her way into the Institute.
It was bigger on the inside. Mao made her way into what appeared to be the library. If the rows and rows of books lining shelves, walls, and in every nook and cranny were any sign. 'Alright...where to begin.' she thought. She stepped down one row of books, searching for anything she felt she could work with. Though she never knew her mother, the fighter of their little family, Mao's father had known enough to figure out the nature of her chakras. Pulling one text from the shelf with a title about a raiton technique, Mao continued down several more rows. During her search she found at least one set of books or scrolls containing a katon and a fuuton jutsu as well. Her father shared her duel nature chakra of raiton and fuuton, but the katon was hers'. Her mothers. It was the one of the few things she knew about her mother. Mao treasured the fire like a small gift because she felt it brought her a little closer to her mother. Though it was slightly strange as she had not been born showing any indication that she could use any fire style. It had only manifested later in her life. After certain events happened.
Mao's hand lingered on the spine of a book of low level genjutsu books. She knew the concept of using genjutsu and what it took, but for some reason she just couldn't bring herself to pick up the books. Keeping the three books she had already picked up, Mao made her way to a smaller section. It only had a few books to it's name, which slightly disappointed Mao. Nevertheless she scanned the few titles about the Kuton clan looking for one that would server her purpose for training. She could remember what her father had told her about the clan's jutsus but it never hurt to brush up on some things. She didn't want to accidentally harm herself or someone else after all in the process of training. She finally spotted a book that had at least one of the techniques she could remember and looked around to pay for her books. After a few moments she managed to find a librarian and went to pay the fee for the books. The librarian quickly informed Mao that they had recently opened up the information to the public for free and she could just take the books. Somewhere in his coils Mao could hear Tetsu's muffled laughter. Mao muttered her thanks for the information and turned around before her bright red face could be seen. "You'll get scolded for taking that money for sure now." Tetsu muttered as Mao made her way out of the library section. "You'll get scolded for not stopping me, you know." She said, holding the books close to her as she walked.
Mao quickly determined that just finding a place to train, such as a dojo, was a sort of training in itself in this building. She had made several wrong turns and found more dead ends than she cared to admit before she finally stumbled upon the Battle Arena behind the major building. It was by far on of the noisiest area in the entire area. Not just because of all the fighting, but because of the sheer amount of people there. There were several people milling about simply talking and then there were others engaged in, what Mao hoped to be, friendly sparring. She found a spot slightly off away from everyone else and knelt down on the ground to read them.
She opened the raiton style first and flipped it to a page that she had recognized. It was a simple technique that her father had shown her. The Heki no jutsu. It was simple enough. A basic attack that could be used in a number of ways. She placed the book on the ground, still open to the page, and read description that was there. It was basically everything her father had mentioned and showed her. Mao copied the hand signs from the book slowly at first, gradually getting quicker before. As she got more accustomed to making the hand signs Mao finally added chakra to the mix. At first nothing happened, but after a few tries small sparks of pitch black lightning flew off Mao's body. Tetsu hissed quietly, coiling slightly tighter against Mao to avoid the lightning. "Watch where yo-UUU!" Tetsu's words were cut short as a shock was sent up through his tail, zapping him right to his fangs. Mao instantly cut the jutsu short as Tetsu's whip like tail smacked into her face. "It was as accident! No need to get huffy." Mao said as she set the snake on the ground. Tetsu simply hissed and took a spot on the books she hadn't opened yet. He was smoking slightly as he patted the open raiton book with his tail. "Well, next time you use that remember not to use it when I'm with you!" He scolded the young girl with his fanged bared slightly.
"Now try this one." Tetsu said as he nudged open the futon book. Mao helped her little companion open the book fully and flipped pages until she found the one he was speaking of. Instead of a strictly defense based jutsu, like Heki was, this one was a bit more versatile. The Tobidougu Soujuu no jutsu could not only give her a better defense, but also a better offense. Like before she practiced the hand signs before even thinking of adding of chakra to her training. Tetsu remained coiled up on the fuuton book keeping a careful eye on Mao. Confident that she had the seals down, Mao stood up, pulling out one of the kunais she kept at her side for protection purposes only. She faced the one training dummy that was over in her little corner and took a practiced aim at it. Using just one hand to preform her jutsu, Mao threw the kunai aiming directly for the dummy's chest. A dark wind seemed to form the kunai in midflight as Mao flicked her hand to the side. The kunai followed the motion just before striking the dummy. It flew harmlessly past the target and landed point down in the dirt just a few feet behind it. "Two down." Mao said with a smile on her face as she looked down at Tetsu. "Two more to go." he said showing his fangs in a way that only Mao knew was a smile.
