Grabbing a few strawberries out of the nearby fruit bowl upon the desk, Rei walked with her companion Angelo down the hallway. She took a left turn up the stairs to the second floor, then headed forward. On the way to the fifth door to her right, quickly eating the fruit before tossing the remains in the nearest trash can. Rei opened the door to the nursery and stepped inside. She slowly walked towards the wooden cradle on her left, picking up the infant boy who was no more than a few days old, wrapped in a medium sky blue blanket. The boy had fair skin, medium brown hair and bright violet eyes, asleep in her arms with one hand gripping her index finger as if out of habit. Princess Rei turned around to face her friend with a small, shy smile on her face. She wanted to speak, but was overcome with joy to utter any words. Perhaps in truth, being a parent wasn't as challenging like she thought. Rei made sure to check the records while she was thinking about it, knowing it had been quite a long time since Akio's patient file was updated.

Time seemed to go by rather slowly the rest of the morning. Princess Rei did her best to tend to a few patients as they came in. None had complained once as she dealt with their injuries while keeping an eye on her infant boy. It was the least she could do to help. One of the teenage boys she'd worked with however, acted a bit rude as he spoke a few angered words in some language Rei wasn't familiar with. She guessed he must have been a foreign traveler by the style of his clothing and accent. Regardless of his sour attitude, Princess Rei did her best to clean the young teen's leg injury, followed by applying an herbal ointment she made with a clean cloth. "I suggest you hold your tongue young man. You don't ever want to get on my bad side." Princess Rei told him firmly in warning, keeping her voice low so she wouldn't wake the baby. Eventually, the teenage boy did as she instructed, for no further did he try to speak again the rest of the day. When one of the doctors came by, Rei had the boy sent to an empty room to recover, escorted by the doctor. She let out a small sigh in relief, hoping she didn't have to deal with such a person again the rest of the day.

Turning her gaze to her left, Princess Rei noticed Angelo had come by. He seemed to be busy going to check on a patient, likely the one she'd dealt with a moment ago. "Um, would you mind getting me a fresh bottle of milk please? It's probably been a while since he was last fed. There should be some kept in the ice box near the nursery." Rei had inquired, unsure of what more to add. She hoped it wasn't too much trouble, considering how slightly busy things were. By this time, Rei noticed little Akio had begun to wake up from his long nap in her arms. He didn't seem very talkative, but mostly quiet while looking around. Princess Rei leaned down to lightly kiss her son on his forehead, allowing him to grip her finger with his tiny hand.

While her companion left to deal with the patient, she could hear some yelling down the hall. Princess Rei was a bit surprised to also hear Angelo yelling back at the teenage boy, by which soon the loud noise quickly ended. The language did sound foreign, but she had no idea what was being said between the two. Once little Akio finished, Rei placed the empty bottle down on the small side table and carefully adjusted her grip. She noticed he was still wide awake, looking around curiously. Rei tried to think of something to keep him occupied, but seemed to run out of ideas for the moment. 'Hmm, maybe Akio would like a story?' she thought curiously, though wasn't sure what would sound appropriate for an infant.
