Here is part of the beginning of my Space Marine army of Black Templars.
I still have to sand and final coat the shoulders before adding the symbols.

All comments and critique welcome.
I need to start experimenting with dry brushing and inks with the next ones I do.
I used to do a lot of painting of fantasy figs for D&D and used to drybrush but somehow overlooked it on these heh.

the paint job is excelent, althought the paint seems a bit thick. You have done an extremely awesome job on the skin and facial detail too. I'm not a big fan of the gloss coating but that is a kind of personal thing. other than that they are really well done!

The model itself looks great, but even the best model looks mediocre without a good base, of which yours seems completely bare. wink

Thanks nikkigurlie (love the paint job on the CF by the way) and DarkElf27.
The gloss coating was something I was experimenting with after seeing a few armies done in that manner at the local hobby shop.
I use it to preserve all of my D&D figures so thought I would give it a try.
Still not sure how I feel about it.
As far as the bases I am undecided how to finish them off.
Grassland, gravel, grass/gravel combo, 'urban' or possibly even a snow flocked base and add some silver/white highlights to the models themselves.
Any suggestions would be welcomed.

Nice work King Kento.
The figure itself is very odd looking but the paint job looks great smile

Would love to see more of the detail in your Tyrant, Poodle dude.
Try experimenting with different picture taking setups.

As to the gloss, they DO have a matte coat that won't make it shiny, if that's more to your liking.

What I used was a Clear Acrylic Sealer with a matte finish.
I think it may just be the camera and lighting that makes them look glossier than they actually are.
I'll have to try snapping some pics of my DnD minis and see if they come out with the same gloss look.

Firstly, I think I said it was a transfer but I may have forgotten. That was one of the few instances i ever used transfers, way back when i first started, now everything is freehand. And trust me the salamanders symbol is not fun freehand.

To everyone who commented, thank you very much on the compliments. Im happy with how the color went, I wanted a ghostly look so I figured grays, white, black, and shadow gray worked.
