reagun ban You got the charge on the ions reversed. As counter intuitive as it is, negative ions (anions) are good for your body and mind and positive ions (cations) are bad for you. Rock salt lamps do indeed emit anions and the science backs it up, afaik Ah, yes... Negative is good vs. positive is bad. I always make this mistake. sweatdrop Does science back the claim up though? Really? Somehow I have this feeling these lamps will be the lava lamps of the future. rolleyes Pretty, but useless. sweatdrop

As far as I know, yes. But I'll check the journal paper again when I get home.

Good. 3nodding I cannot seem to find any other sources, other then the ones who also want the sell the pretty lamp. I am getting curious, about how exactly the Ions are getting released. Warmth? Plain light? And how many do you need to buy for the needed positive ions? One is enough? neutral

BlueRoseTorn The storm kicked in about three hours after Isaac's plane took off. A tree was knocked over in his front yard, and hit the side of their house (and completely crushed this gorgeous wooden archway they had leading to the side yard). Luckily, the house didn't take any damage. His friend's apartment complex took huge damage, though. The building next to the one Graz lived in had a tree take the whole top floor off, and to add insult to injury, the tree then fell right on top of all of the car ports. I'm glad your power's back on. heart It took about a day and a half (if I remember correctly) for his family's power to be fixed. I really feel badly for the people that lost their apartments, especially during the holidays. That's just awful. A tree at my work (I work at a handicapped riding barn) fell down during the storm (tons of trees in the area did) and crushed the neighbor's barn. (The neighbor happens to be the riding program owner's mum.) There are branches and trees down everywhere and it's going to be a long time before it gets cleaned up, but noone I know was hurt. Even our hermit crabs made it through the cold of having no electricity without dropping any limbs, thankfully. XD

Happy Yule everyone!!! Last night was the shortest night of the year; it officially can't get any worse. whee
I spent much of the evening making Danish hearts for my tree. Two made it ONTO the tree, each with a candy. Unfortunately, it appears the truffles I got are too big for my hearts, so I'm just going to have to sacrifice and eat them so I can purchase smaller candies to go into the rest. Oh! The humanity! Oh! How I suffer for Yule! Woe is me! dramallama
