A flash of gold was all the impetus it took for Dani to speed off across the pitch, and she quickly realized just how close Ivy had come to snatching the Snitch out of the air. She had to admit it, Ivy was doing quite well, and nearly would have won an actual game almost as quickly as Kenny would have. Dani leaned forward on her broomstick, coaxing her mount to greater speed as she did.

Nina ran down the grounds towards the pitch. She was so late. Why was she always so late?! Maybe it was stopping to talk to Celaena? Well yeah... The girl had wished her luck and told her she was going to miss playing. Nina had to force Laena to tell her why she wasn't going this year, and Laena was talking about being super focused on NEWTs... Nina hadn't bought that bs. Not for a second. But when the bells rang the time, Nina fled down the corridors. Why was she always so late again? Sprinting down the grounds led her right onto the pitch and into the field where she grabbed a form and then sat down and stretched a little before absolutely sitting and watching what was happening. She figured she might just be too late but then her eyes fell on one particular chaser and they went wide. Axel was here? Why was he trying out? What was going on here?! She could barely remember him saying something about having been a quidditch geek but she hadn't really thought he'd tryout again. She smiled a little. Of course she didn't look her best, but this was a sport and one she loved. Now just to see if Pru would let her try... No matter how late she actually was.

As Dani raced across the pitch to intercept the Snitch, she caught sight of Nina arriving late for tryouts. Briefly she was reminded of how Alex and Bella were always late for tryouts, and then realized she'd yet to see Celaena show up to play. 'Don't get maudlin,' she told herself. 'Concentrate on your task.'

Pru groaned as she saw movement on the pitch below, but knew she'd be stupid to turn Nina away, not when she had so many years of experience. Still, she irritably called a third quick timeout and flew down to greet the sixth year somewhat grimly. "You can play beater for the Red Team," she said simply, took the girl's form, and flew back up into the goals, calling the time in. Her ribs were killing her. Of course the one time she really took a hit, it was from a second year.

Chessie kept up the search. She though she'd seen a gimmer just before Ivy made a lunge, but it disappeared quickly and Chess internally rolled her eyes. If it was this difficult to even fly, let alone find the thing, how was she expecting to catch it? She had to remind herself that it was very early in her quidditch experience, and kept on looking.

It was impossible to tell them apart but hopefully she was protecting the right one. If she managed to block the bludger she'd send it straight back at Aster.

Ari watched the ball switch hands several times until it finally ended in one of the late comers to the game. She shot towards the young boy hoping to end the war of stealing between the twins. She reached forward hoping to knock the ball loose from the opposing teams chaser.

Jake was so excited that he forgot to keep an eye out for the flying canonballs until one crashed into his arm. "Son of a motherless goat!" he swore, blinking away tears. One of the other chasers sped up and stole the quaffle, just to add insult to injury. "Owowowow," he whined, cradling his arm. He'd just gotten the cast off, too! Okay, not just gotten it off, but it seemed like it! He hadn't even climbed a tree this time!

He sniffled, but then started drifting after the ball again. The other players didn't seem to mind getting hit much, so he wasn't going to whine. At least the nurse would fix it later?
