  • Home from college for good! =D And we even got to write today. So exciting! It took us a while to get back into the swing of things, especially considering we had left off last at an awkward conversation.

It also doesn't help that we spent over an hour debating a word to describe a character's personality. XD (We never did figure it out...)

Definitely looking to change the title. Had this in my head for a few days now but haven't had time/chance to sit down and write it. It's only planned to be a short story at the moment but plans change, as I've so aptly exhibited in the past.

Also, I know a few of you have self-published and I was wondering if any of you knew which site was best to use? I'm looking for one that's preferably free and easy to use (doesn't require too much paperwork and such).

Good to see everyone's doing well biggrin

As I thought, too busy.. and I slept most of today heh

    Ah good to hear cre8ive
Me I prefer Lulu.com but I haven't tried out many other sites
The only thing they charge is for print costs and shipping, but they often have coupons to use that knock down the pricing from 10% to completely free printing/shipping. As for eBooks those are completely free for 'free' versions and just $0.99 for any other price range (thats due to credit card processing fees). Once you figure out how to use the website it's amazingly easy

By print costs do you just mean if I wanted a copy of my own book? Everything else is free except for their special features and such?

Yes, you pay the printing price if you want a copy of your own book. That's different than the sale price. They provide an ISBN with a corresponding barcode, or you can bring in your own. If you know how to format the interior of your book you don't have to pay for someone else to do it. If you know how to format the cover of the book you can do it yourself as a one piece cover, or you can use their free designer tool to make one yourself. Listing on Amazon is free for print books. Listing on the NOOK & iBookstore is free for eBooks. You can purchase expanded listings for print books, but you don't have to. They have listings for book tours & events that you can buy too for marketing.

    You're welcome ^^
It might take a little time to explore all of the options (they do have quite a bit, but I only currently use two..) and figure out how to use it, but I do like them quite a bit myself

Chanthar - it does indeed mean graduation. cool

That's very interesting, all that talk about self-publishing! I'm nowhere near that point yet, but I know in the future I'm going to end up looking into it if an actual publishing company doesn't want to work with me. I hope it all works out for you, cre8tive!

Right now, I'm stuck in the limbo of the back of my mind saying "you want to write. Start writing!" and the rest of me not having any motivation whatsoever to start. It's very sad.

Removed a bunch of partial scenes to the next chapter, so this update is smaller than it looks like. I'm close to making that 50k!
