Zain was born in the northern most alps, a place untouched by many but seen by lots. Both his parents were monks, his mother soon abandoned the monk way of life to go become a farmer while his father became a swordsmaster of the small village near the temple of monks. He taught Zain up until he was 10 the ways of swords, adopting two swords that use to be one whole sword. At the age of 11 he had a chose, choose to become a full fledge monk of the temple or become the best swordsmen in the small village. He spent most of his life to learn to be both but now he had to choose one. Instead he left, he kept the way of being a monk and never showed anger or loss of emotions. He was a happy man traveling to lands, training in swords but always keeping his ways. He finally traveled to a land of Snow, Yukigakure at the age 12. He settled down and became a ninja, graduating the academy fast and proving his loyalty and skill to become a chunin. Zain had adopted the name of a monk he knew well, Hakemoto. It's unknown how he became a Jounin before the day he was promoted he set off to find a new style of sword practice. Now he is 19 and has returned to Yuki to continue being their Jounin. After a year of returning to Kumo Zain celebrated his 20th birthday, still the same as a year before, he has not grown much except he looks more tired and his hair is still unmanagable. He still failed at growing a beard.
He was married to Fuji before she was killed by assassins who attacked Zain's home which was a sacred monk temple in the mountains, having his only home destroyed, he is wandering drunk and injured, saddened by his wife's death and that he was unable to protect her. |

Kenshin was born to the Sakagawa Clan from the Land of Iron. His father, Sakagawa Musashi, was a prominent leader and made trips to the Sunagakure very often because of the ties he had to a Shinobi there. This Shinobi in question, was Kenshin's mother. She gave Kenshin to his father on his third birthday because she understood the importance of him being trained in the Way of the Samurai, but she requested that he was to be sent back to Sunagakure to be trained in the Art of the Shinobi when he was old enough to be considered a Samurai.
During one of the times that he made a trip to Sunagakure Musashi stopped by the blacksmith shop in Sunagakure. The man gave him a Daisho pair that were better than any other swords he had ever wielding, or seen. For this feat Musashi dubbed the man Masamune, a fitting title for the blacksmith. The man's real name was Satetsu Sanshi, the current Sannin of Sunagakure. This fact was unknown to Musashi, but he respected the man greatly.
Kenshin finished his Samurai training three years ago at the age of thirteen. For two years he was sent to a Buddhist Temple to study under the Monks and become a Monk himself. During his time there he practiced Zen and the fact of clearing his mind this added to his Samurai training to further increase his resistance to Genjutsu. For one year he was at the Buddhist Temple until he was sent to Sunagakure to receive his Shinobi training like his mother requested. He graduated the Academy in two years. Kenshin does not claim his Shinobi heritage, but rather his Samurai one. |
