Remus looked up at Sirius. "I'm sorry. I fail at being a parent. Will you lay with me and hold me?" Remus pouted and wipped at his tears.

Sirius lay down next to him, holding him gently. "You don't fail, love," he whispered.

"I couldn't keep a baby safe for nine months. How is that not failing?"

"My mum miscarried three times before my parents had me. Do you think she fails at being a parent?"

"No." He said softly and barried his face in Sirius' chest.

Sirius murmured softly to him, rubbing his back. "I... I love you, Remus," he whispered.

"I love you too Siri." He nuzzled him. "I think I'm going to sleep now. Maybe I'll feel better when I wake up." He took the sleeping draught and curled back up with Sirius.

Sirius sighed once Remus was asleep and ran a hand over his eyes. "And we had just come to an understanding, too," he groaned to himself.

James sat down on a chair by the bed. "That must be tough. But maybe it's for the best. I mean you two are still young. You'll have chances to have a family together later. Now you should enjoy being young."

Sirius dropped his hand and glared. "You think the emotional damage is worth it?!" he hissed. "You think it's okay because we get to "enjoy being young"?"

"Ok I'm sorry I said that. I'm just trying to find away to make you feel better mate. I've never had a friend miscarry before."

"Yeah," Sirius grumbled not unkindly. "I know. Me neither." He sighed and shook his head. "I don't know what to do for him."

"I don't know. Probably just being there for him is mostly what you can do and if he needs anything else he can ask you. Do you need anything? I mean I'm here for you two and I'm sure Peter, Lily, and my parents will be here for you as well."

Sirius sighed. "Your parents do too much for us. I don't think we've ever told them how much we appreciate it."

"They think of you and Remus as two more sons. They know they're the closest to real parents you guys have. They like to be there for you."

"We should still do something to thank them.. Remus and I should, I mean. Peter, too, though no-one really knows anything about his private life. Have you ever found that intriguing? We've known Peter practically forever, and none of us knows anything about him."

"Yeah doing something for them would be good. I just ment don't withhold that Remus miscarried from them. They'd want to know." James nodded at Sirius' question. "Yeah I find that odd. You think he's an alien or something?"
