Member Updates

I definitely don't want the member updates to be 'hidden' in a subforum. I don't see using the front page in that manner as clogging.. It'll show how many people are active to hopefully help bring in more people. We'll have to make sure the title is labeled openly somehow so people know what it's for.

I have to admit I forgot all about the Member Status thread back in Nov and didn't remember til it was mentioned sweatdrop

No, I think we need to keep them on the main page. What we'll have to do is create only letters of active members to keep it to a minimum. What do you think?

Yes, only active letters sounds great. Whenever a new member with a new lettered name comes in we'll make the thread for them -nods- It'll cut down on the number of threads for sure.

I agree. That seems like it'll work perfectly. :] And this way we can reserve maybe even a couple of posts per username in their corresponding status thread, hopefully that way avoiding the posts from getting to their max. character limit?

Oh, yes, maybe a few posts depending on their activity.. though I know with mine I have been doing yearly 'cumulative' updates on my progress.. I'm such a character limit breaker lol.. I've referenced to my Member Journal for more info on the finished books specifically 'cause of the size of everything -ponders- I'd like to keep that intact.. on mine at least. It's more compact that way. For people without consistent daily updates it probably won't be needed though.

So far, so good! I'm really enjoying this challenge. I'm not writing a lot, but a little bit a day is just what I need to ease me into things (and it's also perfect considering I have such an unpredictable schedule with exams, papers, film screenings - not to mention the thought of moving back home and the prospect of 2 weeks of solid travelling with friends in, uh, oh, about 30 days. whee ) Gawd, I'll be back in England in exactly 45 days. Aaaah!
