So, there were rewards in store for her if she showed Samson Oak a complete collection of Alola's variants. Or, was it Kanto's variants? Well....She'd find out. There was also the Oricorio reward and that was much easier to understand. It would be bothersome to catch the eighteen different variants, but a reward sounded great. She just hoped catching the Alola ones wouldn't be a waste of time.I also don't know if I can just catch and evolve them or if I have to actually catch the evolutions individually. I guess I'll find out when I show them to him.Depending on what the reward is, Skye may or may not do things a second time to get it. The outward push of air startled the few trainers that were around when Simon and Yveltal landed. One because of how large Yveltal was and two because he was still considered a legendary Pokemon. Smirking at their amazement Simon simply returned his friend thanking him for the ride before looking around. The environment was surely a lot different than any of the other regions he had traveled to and he wondered if there was even a place for ice Pokemon to live. Reports were that there were new variants of Kanto Pokemon in Alola, including new ice forms but it didn't seem cold enough for that type to live happily. Then again he didn't know a lot about ice types except for his Froslass and she was a ghost so that probably didn't matter much to her. Since this was a starting area Simon decided to hold back on Sandygast and instead focus on Rowlet and Litten sending them both out to stretch a bit and so he looked like other trainers just starting out, maybe a bit older. Taking out his Pokegear Simon switched the Pokedex settings so it would be aligned to the Alola one, getting updates from their network, things like that. Finally he sent a message home telling his family he arrived safely.

The heat hit Egan the moment he walked through the door to the lab, immediately warming his skin. The air conditioning inside the lab had lulled him into forgetting about the harsh sun outside and now his glasses were fogged with condensation and his forehead was beaded with sweat. "God, I hate summer..." Egan hissed, wiping his glasses with a microfiber cloth he kept in his breast pocket. His vision no longer obscured, Egan was treated to the sight the professor must have woken up to every morning. From the dilapidated porch cobalt blue waves could be seen crashing into the cream-colored shore, painting a picture perfect view. The view was the only thing that Egan enjoyed about this region so far; well almost the only thing.
"There she is," Egan muttered, spotting the girl from the lab. "Hey, Brat! Hold up!" The delinquent yelled as he stormed off the porch after her. "What did you mean there aren't gyms here?"

The warm sun came down on Elena, contrasting the cooler insides of the lab. Here were her first real steps on her journey to explore Alola. She couldn't stop grinning. The moment her feet hit the sand she set Poppy down so that the little sea lion pokémon could enjoy the outdoors a bit herself. It really was a nice day, after all. Elena was a bit surprised at the pokémon's ability to keep up with her and Mabel on land, but before the group of three could make it very far away from the lab they were halted. Her grin faded quickly.
"Hey, Brat! Hold up!"
Why was he bothering her? Elena gave a heavy sigh and turned around to see the sweaty idiot from before marching towards her. She rolled her eyes at his question as he neared. "I mean exactly what it sounds like; Alola has no gyms, moron," she answered. Her tone was exasperated. "Did you really come here without reading a travel guide or something?" He had to be kidding, right? There's no way he could be this unaware unless he lived in a bubble of self-absorption-- oh. Yeah. Yeah, that would explain it.
She moved her weight over to her left leg, cocking her hip and placing a hand on it as she spoke. Her skirt waved as she moved. "Alola has trials. Instead of gym leaders there's totem pokémon..." Elena tried to explain everything to his quickly, but it was a lot to sum up into a few words. She sighed again. "It's easier to just do it yourself than hear me explain it though. I've never done one either. I've only read about them." She felt a little lost in Alola herself, but seeing him made her realize that he was actually the one who was lost. She was going to regret her next words. "Do you need me to be your tour guide until you figure out Alola or something? You seem really confused here.."

The girl's remarks were scathing; it wasn't like he'd made the choice to come to this region. She was correct in her assumption however, he had indeed come to the region without doing any research on the journey over. Despite the feeling of annoyance from being chastised by a child, Egan listened to her curt explanation of the trials without lashing back. It didn't make any sense to him that simply fighting some trainerless pokemon would give him a "badge", but if that's how they did it here he'd do it.
"I've only read about them."
Egan's eyes shot up from the hem of the girl's skirt that had preoccupied him, narrowing as they met hers. She hadn't even done them and she was lecturing him? He could feel his eyebrow twitch with anger. This child had just lectured him on his unpreparedness as if she were an expert, but she had no real knowledge of it herself?
"Do you need me to be your tour guide until you figure out Alola or something? You seem really confused here..."
Wait, was she really asking him to travel with her? Maybe this was her way of trying to make it so she wouldn't have to travel alone. Whatever the reason, Egan wasn't going to turn her down. Despite her lack of practical knowledge, it would be useful to have someone around that actually knows what's going on. Besides, it may not be so bad to have some company in all actuality. "Sure, I'll be your chaperone. Kids shouldn't be traveling alone anyway." He responded, getting a small, satisfying dig in.
Egan began fiddling with the Xtransceiver on his wrist, opening the completely blank contacts section. "Alright, name and number," he said briskly, "if we're gonna travel together it'd be best we have a way of getting in touch if we get separated, right? You can put me in as Egan."

Her chaperone? Kid? Elena stared at him with a deadpan expression. It would be too easy to fire back with something about him being pervert who had intentionally sought out said 'kid', or to insult his intelligence by reminding him that the supposed 'kid' had still known more than he had, even if it was only through guides she'd read. However, Elena instead held her venomous words back, capturing her tongue with her teeth to keep them from spewing forth. Mabel reached a ribbon for Elena's wrist, sensing her trainer's agitation and releasing a soothing aura to help her keep a clear mind. The white-haired girl took a deep breath.
She knew. She could read him too easily now. He was embarrassed and covered it up with insults. She had flustered him by correcting his false realities about Alola. He was the kind of guy who needed to feel like he was better than others in order to feel good about himself. That was all, and there was no harm in conceding to let him feel better about himself and the situation. She was confident enough to not need the satisfaction of beating him verbally, although the idea was tempting.
Elena released her tongue from her toothy grip and lifted her wrist to fiddle with her own xtransceiver, breaking Mabel's gentle hold on her. She quietly pulled up her contacts list, filled with friends and family from a home that loved her. She plugged his information into her device, resisting the petty urge to label him as an insult rather than his name. "I'm Elena," she answered shortly in a soft voice before giving him her contact number and returning her wrist to her side. She gestured to the pink pokémon next to her with her other hand. "This is Mabel, my Sylveon--" the intertwining pokémon waved a ribbon slightly, obviously unsure of whether she wanted to interact with Egan. "and you watched me receive Poppy, so..."
Elena looked around Egan, her expression growing somewhat curious as she noticed his lack of pokémon by his side. "May I ask what starter you chose from the lab?" He seemed like a Rowlet kind of guy based on how overdressed he was for this Alolan heat.

Having typed Elena's information into his xtransciever, Egan closed his contacts list and returned his full attention to his new traveling companion; specifically Elena's Sylveon. "Sylveon, huh? I take it she evolve's from an Eevee, right?" Egan asked. He smiled as Mable waved at him with one of her ribbon-like feelers and pulled out his pokedex, registering the pokemon. He knelt down to be near eye level with the vulpine pokemon and held out his hand, palm turned upwards, attempting to coax Mable to come closer and sniff him. Once the Sylveon had inched close enough and sniffed, Egan gently scratched the her under her chin affectionately.
"May I ask what starter you chose from the lab?"
"Hmm?" Egan asked, his attention returning to Elena. "Oh, I chose a Popplio too," he replied as he stood up. He fished around in his pocket until he found the golfball sized container and pressed the center button once, causing the ball to expand. "Alright, c'mon out Popo!" With a gentle flick of his wrist, the pokeball was sent spinning into the air, releasing the "Popplio" inside with a flash of light. Popo turned to face his trainer, awaiting his instructions. "Show 'em how we say hello," Egan said, turning his attention back to Elena; the "Popplio" turned to face the trainer and her pokemon.
"So I've been meaning to ask, do you guys just let your pokemon roam free where you're from?" Egan motioned to Mable and Poppy. "Back home, we let em roam a bit, but typically they stay in their balls during travel." He said, paying Popo no mind.
Popo tried to mimic Egan's gestures as best it could, flailing its stubby flippers around to copy it's trainers way of expressing himself via hand gestures. It had gotten the motions down pretty well, but the facial expressions were where Popo really shined. As Egan talked, Popo mimicked his face exactly, morphing only its face to mirror its trainer's, soundlessly mouthing it's master's words. Popo made sure to keep it's back turned to Egan, so that only Elena and her pokemon would see it's prank. The plan had worked up until Egan noticed Elena's facial expressions.
"W-what's so funny? Why are you laughing? Did I say something wrong? Is something on my face?!" Egan asked, half panicked.

Elena was surprised to hear Egan had chosen a Popplio, but she did a good job of concealing that from him. She'd honestly pegged him as much more of a Litten or Rowlet guy based on his looks. Although now that she was thinking about it, the way he eyed Mabel and had jumped at the chance to take a photograph of the adorable Rockruff the professor had running around suggested to her that he might simply have a soft spot for cute pokémon like she did. Elena smirked at the idea of such a touch acting guy getting all weak over something tiny and cute, but she'd need to watch his behavior more to know if her guess was truly the case.
She watched as Popo came out of its pokéball, and at first glance the pokémon looked like a normal Popplio. She acknowledged the little blue entity with a smile before her attention was drawn back to Egan as he started talking again. Everything was fine until Mabel tugged on Elena's skirt and her gaze returned to Popo. As she took notice of the mocking antics going on in front of her, her eyes went wide in surprise, and despite her efforts to contain her laughter, a couple giggles erupted forth. Elena's right hand flew to cover her mouth and her left arm held her stomach as she soon doubled over at the waist in a fit of laughter.
"W-what's so funny? Why are you laughing? Did I say something wrong? Is something on my face?!"
Elena was struggling to explain. "Your-- Your-- Popo is a Ditto!" she managed to get out between giggles. "It's mimicking you!" She wiped away tears that had formed on the edge of her eyes. This was great. The professor must have given him a ditto by mistake. What a smart little purple blob it was to make its way out of the lab disguised as a starter. "I'm-- I'm sorry... To answer you though, no I usually only keep Mabel out because she's used to it. Poppy will go back into her ball once we reach the city. It's hard on her to keep up with my pace anyway." Elena wondered what Egan planned to do now that he knew his starter was a ditto. Would he take it back to the professor and ask for a real starter or keep the mimic?

Skye wasn't too thrilled to see a Magnemite cross her path. She couldn't use Jamimarie again because the Tropius was still paralyzed from her battle with Pichu. There was Blinky, but Skye wanted to avoid using him until the others were caught up because he was the strongest Pokemon on her active team. There wasn't any reason to risk overpowering him when there was already one Pokemon who had that problem.
As she debated whether to go for it or not, a strong push of air caught her attention and Skye turned. She expected to see one of her parents' Pokemon, but instead saw a Yveltal. That was a Pokemon she'd never thought she'd get to see. It was the one Flying-type Skye was actually wary of. Not to say she believed the species to be pure evil; however, even docile ones could potentially be destructive, even unknowingly or accidentally. Their attacks weren't exactly tame. Still, it was a beautiful creature and Skye's interest no longer belonged to the Magnemite. Instead, she focused on the trainer that rode in on the Yveltal.
Okay, so he was more or less a means to an end so she could meet the Yveltal personally, but if he wasn't entirely a tool. At the very least, the fact that he had a Yveltal and seemed to have a decent amount of control over it was impressive. But, Skye was a Flying enthusiast and was shamelessly protective of the type. She wanted to judge whether he was worthy of the Pokemon or if she'd have to do some rescuing. Well, legally, it was called stealing....But, since when did she sweat the finer details?
Approaching the trainer, Skye looked him over as she did so. He certainly didn't look like much; not that appearance was a factor. It was just something she noted."Excuse me. Sorry for bothering you, but as you probably already figured, I couldn't help but notice that Pokemon you had. That was a Yveltal, wasn't it?"
Looking up from his Pokenav as Litten and Rowlet hid behind his legs Simon noticed the woman. Throughout his entire time traveling the regions he'd met a few nice and a few not so nice people in all sorts of shapes and sizes. Simon had hoped that no one had seen his Pokemon, instead just felt the wind and thought there had been a gust from nature. Seems like that hadn't been how things went, returning Rowlet but keeping Litten at his side he gave a thin smile to the approaching person. “Indeed, my friend is a Yveltal we have traveled here form our home in Kalos to explore this region. I received a starter or two from here from my sisters and thought it would be best to train them here in their home region. Plus I've never been here before, are you from this region?”
Litten peeked out from behind's Simon's legs before gauging the height, bouncing in place a bit then pouncing up onto Simon's shoulder. He missed and clawed Simon's shoulder a bit on accident, wincing Simon reached up and pulled Litten into his arms instead. “Ouch bud, next time give me a warning okay?” Little looked a little ashamed but mewled in reply, “Liii.” Scratching him behind the ears he returned his gaze at the woman. From what he recalled there were no actual gyms on the islands but some sort of trial that people had to do. One to three maybe, per island then you faced against the leader of the island. It was more like more powerful gym trainers then the single leader. It was unique and different and as long as there wasn't a fairy type gym he wouldn't be too concerned, he still had nightmares about his defeats at that Kalos gym.

The guy was skeptical of her. Not all that surprising considering she was asking about his legendary Pokemon. Skye would have to play her cards right if she wanted any chance at getting up close and personal with that Yveltal. So, no mentioning her heritage and chosen career."As if....I only came here because it's the only region with a Flying-type starter. I'd have left by now, but my passion for Flying-types overpowers my seasickness. I want to see what kind of winged cuties Alola has because once I leave, I'm probably not going to come back."Well, that and the fact that she should probably partake in the Alolan gyms if she wanted their specific rewards. Which she did. Naturally.
Skye's eyes flicked over to the Litten that jumped onto the other trainer's shoulder, grazing his shoulder with its claws. That had to hurt. Litten was a Fire-type, wasn't it? She hoped its claws weren't like searing needles. Blinking at the new person Litten shook his white fur sending small bursts of excess flames into the air just missing singeing Simon's hair. Reaching up and plucking him off his shoulder he turned the little fire Pokemon to look him in the face. “That's it, timeout,” he said setting him down and returning him. Looking up at the person he frowned for a moment, “Simon I come from Kalos, thus Yveltal. Though its not the only Kalos legendary Pokemon to seek me out. If you get seasick why just fly with on of your birds or have you not completed any gyms that let you do that?” His eyes moved from them to the red Pokemon, she called it Belladona but that must have been a nickname, the Pokemon had said Reve which must have been part of its species. “I've never come across a Pokemon like Belladona, what is it if you don't mind me asking?”
Eyes leaving theirs at a moment Simon scanned the area, it was lush, just as he had expected it to be. Nita had gone on and on about how beautiful the area was. Since flying to a different region was so cold he excused himself to remove his pack and put away his jacket. Standing up he swung his pack back on. “I sense ill intent,” came a voice within his head startling Simon for just a moment. It had been such a long time since Dusknoir had spoken to him about things. It was nice to know that he was always around, like a protector of sorts. Touching the Pokeball he was in he sent out the large ghost Pokemon. Floating just behind Simon Dusknoir kept his gaze on the scene in a whole not just Skylar. Most people might thing that Yveltal was more impressive but that was just the status of legendary. Having trained Dusknoir since day one of his own journey Simon would be he was the more impressive one. “This is Dusknoir, I don't give my Pokemon nicknames so just Dusknoir.”

Skye shrugged, a tiny bit annoyed that he called them birds. There were Flying-type Pokemon that weren't strictly bird-like. Like Charizard, who was more of a dragon, and then there were the bugs. Not to mention Gyarados. But, she wasn't about to get into that. It was way too early for her to start geeking out; she didn't even know the guy."Since I'm going to be here a while, I'm not about to exhaust them. They're my crew, not my slaves. Besides, I don't have legal permission to travel using Fly yet. Even though one of my Pokemon has the move...."Which was, in her opinion, utterly ridiculous. Sure, she understood having to learn the move first, but if a Pokemon already knew it, she should be allowed to use it the way trainers often did instead of having to travel by foot. But, she wasn't about to argue with the law. That was a huge no-no."Hm? Oh. Her? She's a Mareve, but that's about all I can tell you. Don't know anything else about her outside what the database had on the species. And, it wasn't a lot because she's the only one I've ever seen."
Not that it mattered really. She'd learn more about Belladona's kind as she got to know her. Skye should also see to asking Pokemon professors and researchers for more information. Maybe she should try the PokeDex she got from Kazui sometime. Skye was suddenly taken aback when a Dusknoir appeared behind Simon. That was a surprise. She hadn't expected him to release a Pokemon."Something wrong? People don't usually release a Pokemon without warning like that."Of course she was concerned with why Simon had let the Ghost-type out of its ball. Ghost-types were notoriously mischievous as well as natural radars for trouble. She hoped it had nothing to do with her. Then again, she wouldn't be surprised."Anyway, I'm kind of impressed. I've only ever seen Duskull and Dusclops. Isn't Dusknoir a trade Pokemon? I'm not sure how people can trust others to trade evolve with. Seems stressful."
An eyebrow rose, who said anything about slaves? Looking at Dusknoir he shrugged mimicking her move without thinking. “If I had to label myself as anything it would be a Ghost type trainer.
