{{I think they got rid of the "reset avatar" option. I used that a few times to change my hair color "back in the day" when I had one of the basic hairstyles so that I didn't have to pay. They probably got rid of it because of that since they want you to have to spend gold to do those things. You can buy eyes in the salon now anyway. They seem to purposefully give you crappy choices in eyes and hair when you make a new character now so that you immediately have to spend on new ones. Depending on what you're getting, it shouldn't be too expensive. I managed to get Ryzan set up just using the gold he got for joining, daily chance, and the newbie "quest". I had to buy his first set of clothes, though.
As for the way I treat dame and iggies, they haven't given me a reason to fear them..... yet. And I brought you [Icy] to bed once! *cough* Although Psyzapp had to con me into doing it *cough*}}
*jerks awake and notices he fell asleep in the bar* stressed
