As a note to all Asatru people in general:
Wagner is FANTASTIC! Ok he changes the myths (slightly) and the gods' names but wow is that stuff so much fun to watch. The Nibelungenlied is just pure genius and in the version of Das Rheingold that I was just watching Loki (Loge) is done exceptionally well. Not to mention that Wagner makes the music and themes fit the gods exactly. Plus it's better than watching any modern thriller. Screw special effects. Music and Opera wins! blaugh
Also way better than Tolkein any day. Tolkein can't make pages sing.

missmagpie Nuri The stairs are not your friends. Not even for Led Zeppelin? Ohhhh...I dislike that song. And I am not even sure why, I just do. Something about it makes my skin crawl.

deadmanjake missmagpie Nuri The stairs are not your friends. Not even for Led Zeppelin? Ohhhh...I dislike that song. And I am not even sure why, I just do. Something about it makes my skin crawl. It's a tad obnoxious. And way overplayed. And the recorders at the beginning only make it sound hokey. I think most people are sick of it at this stage. Cheeese... Ooh the third act of Das Rheingold is on. Gotta run!

Absorbing information in M&R is a lot more difficult with him around.

Nuri The stairs are not your friends. But the bottom of the stairs is a great shelter! That's where you get protection from the terrible secret of space!

AngryRobotsInc. I went to the troll account's profile, and looked at it and looked at it. For just about five minutes. And then, I go, "Ohhhhhhhhh!" I never would have figured that out on my own. sweatdrop I was like "What did Triste do...?" given I don't spend a lot of time in M&R and then I remembered the fluffy y'all were tossing around on the "Worst things" thread. That's funny. lol "It's an anagram."

Well, it's "funny" in that half of us would probably have realized who she was and called her on it faster if we'd noticed that "This Nectar" is an anagram of "Triste-chan".

Someone suggest a good book dealing with any pagan subject, preferably something about the "old" as opposed to the "new" that is in some way scholarly (meaning it ain't bullshitin' me). Anything - just give me a title smile
Re: Re-Con photos: I guessed everyone right, but that's because I saw everyone's picture at least once from this thread, and others in this guild blaugh Did you all go to a zoo? or is that a wildlife preserve? (The wolf or doggy pictures) [I've never seen a wolf in real life, just a timbrewolfXhusky dog]
I though you were all having a costume partay or something? No costume pics? cry

I just realized that when I think "Good Lord" I think of the Dagda and Lugh, in that order.
My brain is weird.
