Naoko's piano...it nearly made him want to fall into a dream-filled sleep. It was so sweet and soothing to him. Naoko's playing always made him want to drift off into another world.
Naoko's singing, however...
Ryu could feel his breath catch in his throat as he heard his beloved take to the lyrics as if he had been a vocalist all his life. Sure, he had heard Naoko rehearsing this in the studio, but it hadn't sounded ANYTHING like this!
It was so beautiful...painfully beautiful...
And, somehow, bittersweet.
Then, it was over, and time for the main event.
Stepping out into the spotlight, the lights dimmed to an ominous red, smoke billowing from all sides of the stage.
Raising his violin to his chin, Ryu clicked his boot heel against the stage three loud times as if knocking on the door of hell, then he set into The Devil's Trill, playing it out with every twist and turn, each note perfectly summoning the demon from the depths.
It was absolutely palpable, the energy rising, the audience on the edge of their seats.
This was it, this was the rush, the magic he had been waiting for.
This...was the devil come calling...
Scarlet eyes snapped open at the height of the song, Ryuukaze's arm moving so fast it felt like it would burn up.
The light was beginning to rise in the back, the red becoming more like fire.
Just a few more notes....
And now...

"Daijoubu desu." Narcissus spoke calmly, winking at Shou. "Let us show the world... what dreams we can create together."

As Ryuukaze's haunting violin pierced the silence, Akihiko stepped forward into place, his booted feet resting atop the rising door that would pull him up onto the stage as if he were ascending from the depths of hell itself.

Then... as that last note struck... the black wings folded inward, shielding around his body, protecting him and hiding him from view.

The audience was still. Perfectly silent as that last note hung in the air...

Then came the music, a strange eerie sound as if something otherworldly were happening... Narcissus' body rose, his body moving not an inch... and as the flames rose, as the pyrotechnics on the stage spouted flame upward toward the ceiling, Narcissus' wings uncurled in a flourish as the music began fully now, the guitar striking hard.

I believe that the reality that continues to revolve out from the era of chaos
Is the only thing that will seize my hand
In a world with no pain
I can only continue to search for a real pleasure

The traveler whose foolish sins have piled up
Is filled with terror and panic, then closes his eyes
And continues to wander about in the darkness

Raising his hands up to the sky, Narcissus sang, his black wings unfolded in all their splendor behind him.
As the chorus ended though, he looked out at the audience, smirking darkly, as if he held the darkest secret known to man.

As the music played, Narcissus walked to the edge of the stage, his wings very nearly close enough for some of the lucky fans to nearly touch. Screams and shouts of adoration assaulted the musician's ears, and then he walked back to his spot, taking a deep breath as his pitch rose drastically.

I stabbed you
And smiled silently
Because even if you cry
You'll never recover

Pitch returning to normal, he raised his arms to the sky again as he sang, almost cursing the heavenly forces as he sang.
Of course... he was a demon...
A mortal enemy of heaven.
A dark soulless creature who craved nothing but the purity in the world... and to watch that purity fall just like his own kind.
Why was the demon summoned? Why was he here? Who... would be his prey this day?

I only was watching you intently

And as the song ended, the flames continued to flicker and burn around him. Narcissus stepped back into the shadows, the firelight illuminating and twisting his features into dark nightmarish shapes.
And as the lights dimmed, as the fire died away... the demon vanished into the darkness.

Charity Event - Back Stage

Shou let himself be sucked into his role as he heard Ryuukaze's music trill. It was a beautiful yet forboding tune that gave the angel cause to be unsettled. Shou felt the wings curl and spread as Narcissus came on to the stage. At least Jaz and Crew were on their marks. Ah, he really wanted to hire Jaz's people but he had a feeling that Narcissus definitely wanted to keep them.

The music pulled him back in. Dark...and filling his ears with the beginnings of Hell's entrance into this world. Yes, below him was a souless marauder that he must return to the pit or the innocent of this world could be brought low with it.

Ah...to be an angel. The last bastion of hope in a world gone mad. But was this angel pure enough to drive the darkness back to Hell?

The lighting snapped as the demon disappeared, flames dying replaced by electric blue lights swirling up through fog that became the clouds close to earth. Greens, golds, and blues twinkling through as the Angel stepped off his platform and came into the view of the audience.

Shou's fans held their breath as the first notes from his lips poured forth. Pure and angelic the sounds almost incomprehensible in the mystery that was undoubtedly Shou's magic brought alive. The wings curled and he flew over the stage in slow moving descent to the earth below his last note holding for just a moment.


His toes lighting on the earth below as the lights streaked like blaze of falling stars through the lifting clouds and white banners. And Shou's fans went wild as the music changed to a heavier and robust beat that pressed the audience in the front rows to the edges of the stage.

Above a masterful light show of religious symbols, wings and streaming ribbons spreading on the screens and changing into shooting stars flickering until they met up with the lighting rig which took over to spread the light around the stage. All the while, Shou sang...

His movements across the stage brought him close to the audience several times as he poured his heart into the music. But as the music ended, from there, lights flickered as the wings pulled around Shou as the colors of the electric lights streamed from blues to purples then red as small demons tore at the stars tossing them down. Red lights streamed down in waves to the floor as fire erupted once again to offer Narcissus the stage.

Even as the tiny demons threw the stars down... as the blue lights faded and the fire returned... the fog clouded the stage.
Until a small light... a woman actually... began to step through the fog as if lost.
From across the stage, Narcissus stood. His black wings were wrapped around his body, allowing however, for his expression to be revealed as he watched the beauty step lightly.
Out of the fog came the demon, wings folding back to reveal his form to the woman. One lithe hand reached out, as if beckoning her to come to him.
She was enchanting.
But... so was the demon...
And then those beautiful lips parted... and the music which had been building in the background, gave way to lyrics of love and of a want to be free...
A want to be with such beauty...

My eyes are not,

By the time the song had ended... the dazzling beauty was in the arms of the demon. She was held safe and secure within his dark wings.
In reality, she had clipped a harness of her own, beneath her costume, to Narcissus' own harness.
The one beckoning hand took her chin, tilting the woman's head back. As the demon's lips descended on her own, claiming a sweet kiss, they were both pulled backward and fell into hell, the harness keeping the woman securely in Narcissus' arms to create the illusion.
As the flames died away, the stars began to return to the sky... tiny demons retreating.

Backstage, the woman unhooked her harness then hurried to her next place, ready for Shou's song and her performance as his love interest this time.

His XfantasyX girl wandered back on the stage and acted as if she were a bit confused from the demon's tempting offer. She danced a little as the song started to rise up and Shou appeared from the right standing upon a higher platform where the lights captured him exclusively. His words poured out alluring and beautiful.

Taking off from the platform in the middle of the song he landed beside her, and took her hand to dance as he sang to her. The lights around the stage streamed upwards forming green, pink and blue flowers surrounding them and mixing with clouds in a radiant display. Shou's face appeared above on the cameras capturing his smile as he sang to her and then how he spread his wings to show her the 'garden' of people. He in turn sang to them to draw the fans back in to his magical realm.

The lights streamed out to the audience this time from above revealing faces of the fans. Just before the end of his song he did not fly with her but pulled her gently close and walked with her through the 'garden that lit up and dimmed behind them until the ....demon lights threatened upon only one side of the stage.

Shou let go of her and gave a thumbs up taking a quick sip of water as he turned back around. Soon he and Narcissus would share a duet....That was one thing that Shou very much looked forward too.

Out in the audience the fans were opening up their secret Shou bags, The lucky ones of the rare bags got tiny wings to wear! Some white marked with the dust of Heaven in glitter...some were black marked with the soot of Hell. Many fans squealed in excitement, including Izzy who found a black pair of wings in his bag. He was truly amazed by the performances so far. Utterly amazed.

Backstage while Shou was singing... Narcissus had fallen into a dilema...
A big one.
About a minute before his song had finished, his eyes had refused to focus properly.
Now... everything was so blurry that he hadn't been able to undo the clasp which connected the young woman to his own harness and, instead, had been forced to get a stagehand to help them.
Embarrassed a bit by that, but more worried about his physical symptoms, the young musician leaned against the wall, his forehead on the cool stone, as Shou's song continued.
Blinking over and over again, nothing seemed to clear up the sudden fog which had filled his vision.
At least nothing worked until everything just went dark.
But Shou's voice was still strong... the change in scene hadn't happened yet.
Feeling sick to his stomach, it took everything Narcissus had not to vomit right there... instead, he closed his eyes, taking deep soothing breaths as he tried to just calm down.
So he couldn't see... that wasn't going to hurt too much...
Oh who was he kidding! This was a disaster!
Body shivering slightly, Akihiko wrapped his arms around his chest to try and stave off the sudden chill, blue eyes opening to the darkness again.
A stagehand had asked him if he was alright, to which Narcissus just nodded and replied that he needed some water. Once that was in his system, his body seemed to react positively and the slight tremors stopped.

By the last verse of Shou's song, things were blurry again for Narcissus' vision. He couldn't focus in, but he could see shapes.
That was all that mattered now.
Glad to be free of that momentary blindness, Akihiko moved to take his spot at the side of the stage, another stagehand fitting a saber around his waist for the big battle scene over the girl between angel and demon.

Just as Shou and the woman had left the scene, the music for the next song began and Narcissus strode out onto the stage amidst the flash of flames and the clash of thunder.
He searched, blue eyes scanning, acting as if he were looking for the woman... the love he longed for so deeply.
But...
He couldn't find her...
Even turning to the audience, he called out to them, asking if they had seen a beautiful maiden.
"I laid eyes upon her just the other day, in this very place. She had promised to return... to meet me here once more. And yet she is nowhere to be found!"

Narcissus fans hollered for the demon telling him where she had gone. While Shou fans screamed that she shouldn't go with him. It was a mixed review from the audience and back stage Shou grinned because he knew this might happen.

Lights on the left had little demons making hand signs to cheer the audience on for Narcissus's side while on the right, little angels of light did the same for the Shou fans.

Suddenly, a pink light appeared on the maiden as she drifted onto stage...flitting closer to the demon. Very torn between the two entities. She danced a little closer and of course this drove the crowds on both sides wild!

Seeing the beautiful maiden suddenly appear, Narcissus smirked and reached a hand out to the woman.
The demon was oblivious to her indecision, as well as to her other suitor.
"My dear... I promised to take you to another world with me... we can be together for all eternity... just you and I..." Narcissus spoke, walking slowly toward the dancing woman. "Please... will you not lay your hand in mine once more?"

Shou watched and waited until the maid had been thoroughly tempted, he wasn't about to let be taken by the demon. The guitar's first notes were struck and he felt for his sword had also been strapped into place and the lights hit him as he started to sing.

Hand out stretched he faced the demon as the aggressive words were lured from his lips.

He moved in closer and his wings raised provocatively as he came to meet the maiden in the middle. She turned to looked at him, her indecision obvious to everyone in the audience.

Upon seeing the angel, Narcissus drew his sword, pointing it toward the heavenly being as his own wings stretched out wide about him.
Of course... Shou was very VERY blurry to the musician's eyes... but he knew the blocking for this by heart.
If he'd been blind, he'd have still been able to pull off the act perfectly.

Thus, when it was his turn to sing... he advanced forward, every intention to pull the maiden away from the being of light and shield her behind his own darkness.

The Angel drew his sword as he sang while pushing the maiden further to the side of him as he advanced. His XfantasyX girl backed up enough knowing the the distance marked on the stage to avoid the wings as Shou brought the Sword of Light around to meet Narcissus' blade.

He finished his part of the chorus but very aware of their blades. The fantasy filled him and sometime he felt he could lose himself to that fantasy, however, as many times as they rehearsed, he knew exactly where he had to be and when. The screams from the crowd reminded him of who they meant to entertain. Even so, he kept his eyes trained on his target and could feel his body adjusting to the weight of the wings preparing for the return swipe from the demon's dark blade.

Meanwhile inside central control, Jaz's crew pushed the special effects to their limits creating the swarms of small demons and angles colliding on streams of lights while the various close ups of the two stars displayed opposite of each other. Lightening bolts streaked across the event hall through the light rigs along the sides. It looked like both Heaven and Hell was swarming down in a great battle.

Behind the band the lights flickered a dark red pentacle from Hell that spun until revealing a cross. These images swirled and changed as each consecutive note came from the various instruments from the band. Occassional shifts of the images on the screens started showing Naoko, Ryuu, Yammi playing at various stages of the lyrics.

Still standing in the wings beside Michi, Hayato was glued to the performance now going on on the stage.
Naoko was a vision to behold...and watching him out there did stir in him a sort of want that had become so very familiar in his life.

The things he could do....bindings and screams....the ultimate culmination of pleasure and pain...

For a moment, the vocalist closed his eyes and pinched the bridge of his nose as one would if overcome by a sudden headache.
Looking out at the show again, he focused in on Shou. The angel was off and on the stage, but the stage didn't seem to really come alive until he was out there.

"That....that is true beauty..." he whispered, though one couldn't be sure if the star was speaking to Michi, or to himself.
One thing was for certain, Hayato was absolutely taken by Shou, and nobody else.

As Shou advanced, both angel and demon sang as one, their voices blending to give the audience a sound that had never been heard before.
Heavenly voice mingling with the vocals of a demon, thrown from heaven itself. It was impossible to tell who's voice was more beautiful, more captivating and... in that moment of their chorus, not one person in the crowd could have distinguished who sang...
Because both demon and angel were in perfect vocal harmony.

Blades clashed as the pair continued to sing.

What are they risking? What will they leave behind?

The battle above was stirring, the song sucking the audience into the fray and fully immersing the entire room in the fantasy.
It was even clear that the musicians themselves were in the moment, because even Naoko was throwing his heart and soul into the performance.
That much was clear as Narcissus heard the piano's tune, notes helping to cue particular strikes of sword upon sword.
Which was good, since Akihiko was still having problems completely discerning shapes. Though... it was getting slowly better.
Of course now, he was beginning to notice a strange fatigue in his body, the fake sword seeming even heavier in his hand as they fought.
To the close eye, the demon was beginning to sweat as the two fought, Narcissus' forehead glistening slightly in the light of the flames.

Nakai had joined both Hayato and Michi in the wings, watching the set, his guitar still slung over his shoulder.
"Sugoi desu ne..." the blond spoke, standing right beside the raven haired vocalist. "I had no idea they complimented one another so well..."
His own amber eyes were fixed on the scene, completely oblivious to the fact that Hayato might freak out about the Naoko look alike.
But... Kai couldn't stop starring.
Naoko on stage was beautiful, and Ryuukaze was enchanting. Of course he was admiring Shou and Narcissus as well but... he knew the other two better and... well... they captivated his attention far better in many ways.

At first, Hayato didn't even look to see who had joined the small gathering, only responding with his first thought to the statement he heard.

"Nn...compliment, perhaps....but I find Shou to be superior to Narcissus in every way." he replied, still rapt to the action on the stage. Of course, he had automatically assumed Nakai was speaking about the two vocalists having it out over the princess, the thought never crossing his mind that he may be referring to someone else.

Hayato hadn't wanted to look away from Shou, not even for a moment, but he felt the need to look at this person beside him, as though it might be important.
As soon as his eyes set upon the figure of the blond, he immediately wished that he had just kept looking forward.
Standing right beside him was Naoko...though that was impossible, as Naoko was on the stage at the moment.

Wide-eyed, he just stared, believing that he really, truly had gone completely mad-hatter this time. There was no way that there were two of Naoko....unless he was hallucinating.

"Son of a b***h...." he said, staring, looking back and forth between Nakai and Naoko, out on the stage.

Pausing in his ogling of the musicians on stage, Nakai focused on the man beside him, "Wha... oh wait, yeah... the whole, 'I look like NAKO' thing, ne?" the guitarist laughed slightly, "Obviously I can't be Naoko-kun because he's out there and I'm here. Plus, he plays the piano and I play the guitar... two while somewhat similar instruments are quite differnt." he smiled pleasantly, holding out his hand. "I'm Nakai and you must be Hayato, ne?"
