 Completely excited to actually be IN the film, Sergio only heard half of what the Red Knight said to him. As far back as he can remember, he’s been a HUGE fan of “lawyer” movies and shows. He’s seen them all! “A Few Good Men” with Jack Nicholson and Tom Cruise! “My Cousin Vinny” with Joe Pesci! “The Verdict” with Paul Newman! “Presumed Innocent” with Harrison Ford……OMG Harrison Ford…SOOOOO HAWT!!! emotion_awesome And as if that wasn’t enough, he gets to be in this movie WITH “G” and EVERYONE from the Club is there to see it live and in person!!!! After the shooting of this project is finished, he may as well fly straight to New York and jump off the Empire State Building because he’d die completely fulfilled. emotion_awesome He reaches under the table and pats the Red Knight on the thigh. You are so lucky I got out of that closet and know how to change clothes faster than the speed of sound, Mister Man. Don’t you worry about a single thing. I know ALL about you. In fact, I know so much about you that I could walk right into that little police station of yours IN COSTUME and your co-workers would SWEAR on an entire stack of BIBLES I was you. emotion_awesome

 Were this a real trial, Antonio would question the wisdom of allowing a stylist to serve as representation, but given it's a movie and everyone there were just actors playing roles, he didn't think much of it. The script revision he briefly skimmed through didn't seem to say anything about what the verdict should be, but The Don told him to take it seriously, so he had no choice but to play this ridiculous scenario out to the best of his ability. stare As such, despite Sergio's unprofessional entrance and opening statement, the man did present an obstacle that might be hard to overcome. All previous research on "he who shall not be named" from back before and during his brief stint as a part of "The Family" revealed him to be a masochist. It could be an uphill battle trying to prove such a submissive person would want to take full and total control of not just one, but four Queendoms. Even so, Antonio was sure he would figure out some way to spin it. Attention on him now to start the prosecution, Antonio stood and said, "The prosecution calls The Mad Hatter to the stand."

At first Lia was so busy focusing on playing juggling with her mini fireballs and getting better control of them that she totally spaced when hearing Hatter being called to the stand. The Knave had to smack her with his tail in order to get her attention and point to the front when he finally did. gonk
OH Shi-! She spreads her wings while trying to get up quickly and ends up blowing a gust of wind through the whole courthouse. sweatdrop Coughing politely and folding up her wings she decides walking down instead of flying over may be a better idea. Her tail swinging back and forth over the heads of other Wonderlanders and the G Fanboys and accidentally singeing hair or putting hats on fire as she stalked by. When she finally got up to the stand and found that it was easier to stand on her haunches than in the chair because she was still slightly too big. One of the Minotaurs came up holding a scroll in it's hand. Unrolling it the beast begins to read off the scripture as he has Hatter raise her hand. Do you swear by the All Mighty Deities of Wonder, do speak the truth and only the truth to Their Majesties and citizens of the Red Dominion that stand before you or be struck down by the Righteous Hand of Queen Red?
I Hatter Lia Angelina Contessa Louisa Francesca Banana Fanna Bo Besca Maddeus the 3rd of Teaopolis so do swear that if a single word of falsehood pass my lips may Her Majesty have full reign on my newly-leathered hyde. mrgreen Satisfied with her answer the Minotaur rolls up the scroll and motions to Antonio to continue before sitting down.

'******** idiot' she thought to herself, 'Moron doesn't even remember to address me as Queen of Diamonds, but refers to me by my real name. Someone doesn't know how movies work, obviously. rolleyes '
She snorted slightly at Lia's swearing in and mentally went over any possible questions Tony might throw around her when she would eventually be called to the stand.

As the Prosecution calls their fist witness, he looks over to the opposing table and gasps out loud when he sees the Queen of Diamonds face. emotion_jawdrop Oh dear God in Heaven above!! gonk She looks like the Tin Man from the Wizard of Oz!! emotion_facepalm Quickly covers his mouth. Maybe nobody will notice. ninja He had better pay attention as the first witness has been sworn in. Unable to help himself, he keeps glancing over to the Prosecutions table because she's just so……so……… sparkly. emotion_0A0

Though an odd deviation from your typical swear in, it actually wasn't the strangest he'd heard through his years, like the one involving a flying spaghetti monster emotion_eyebrow In any case, since the trial isn't legally binding by any means, it didn't matter if they made things up to swear by. Technically speaking, all testimony given would necessarily be false anyway given this is all fiction. As the Hatter settled in, he had himself another sip of water, then approached. "Miss Maddeus, how would you describe your relationship to The Family of Hearts?"

Hatter giggles a little, small bursts of flame escaping through her smiling teeth as she did and waved her talon in embarrassed dismissal. Oh. you. are. SO. adorable! MISS! Ha! A charmer just like the rest of your lovely family. *ahem* My ties to the Hearts Family started, oh how many years now? Well personally 5 but the Maddeus Clan has always had close ties to the Hearts for EONS. My great-great-great-great-great-great-great... She pauses seeing Antonio's unamused "hurry up" face she knew so well. sweatdrop Etc etc. Grandfather started as the Royal Hatter for their Majesty's ancestors. Over time it changed to where I currently hold the title of the Royal Alchemist for Her Current Majesty. I should hope that have the honor of being one of Her Majesty's closest confidant after all this time. I would do anything for her including laying down my life.

Everything seemed to start out well enough, Hauk tried running through his head what questions he would be asked and that's even IF the Hare character would be called up to the stand. Possibly to talk about Alice and his perspective, his relationship with the Queen of Hearts through Hatter, so forth and so forth. He kept mental notes as the verbal sparring began. He also made sure that he had enough room to dive if any of Lia's fireballs come his way. Although he was laughing inside at the fact that she got screwed by one of her own pranks for once. cool Been ages since that happened last.
Anira kept notes of her own on her copy of the script in case Psy would need it for any future scenes filming. It was only until after Lia was asked to be called up to the stand did she realized she should have thrown a fire proof spell around the courtroom and wondered if she might have to when it's TES's turn to testify. emotion_facepalm

Antonio thought to ask what her overall opinion of the accused was, but decided against it. In a real court, her personal feelings could hurt his case as it would imply a bias and she would be written off as an unreliable witness. Without a jury, that may not matter here, though it was still better to play it safe. "So, given your position, Miss Maddeus, would you say that you spend a lot of time here in the castle?"

talk2hand But OF COURSE! I am at Her Majesty's beck and call! Whenever she had an illness, Hatter is there. When she needs beauty advice, Hatter is there. When she needs a new toy to try with His Majesty in their chambers. Ohhhhohohohoho you better believe Hatter is there. twisted Crossing her arms around her chest in pride, her tail flipping back and forth flicking little flames around her and burning spots on the stand.

As soon as she mentioned "toy to try", he had to resist the urge to object to his own witness stressed That's his sister! He didn't want to hear about things like that! gonk He had to take a deep breath to keep from getting sickly as it also gave him flashbacks to having come across that porno of her and Gio when checking on how the film's viral marketing was coming along emotion_puke It created a slight, awkward pause as he struggled to maintain composure, but he managed to continue without too much delay. "Is it safe, then, to assume you have witnessed multiple interactions between Her Majesty and the accused?"

Raising a finger and opening her mouth, Hatter was about to ask "what kind of interactions?" when she got a mental warning from a certain wood elf behind cameras of "DON'T. YOU. DARE." emotion_donotwant
Promptly shutting her mouth and rethinking her answer she straightens up as much as a dragon sitting on her haunches could sit straight and leered her eyes at the Red Knight for a moment. emotion_eyebrow Yes, anytime both of us had to be within the Queen's presence for official Royal business I would see IT many a time. With all these little card soldiers running about I try not to notice them but this one was harder to avoid than most of Her Majesty's other servants. rolleyes

Antonio internally facepalmed at the noticeable change in tone. Again, if this had been a real trial, he would have had a chance to talk to the witnesses beforehand to discuss behavior so they didn't sabotage themselves like that. He would just have to try to take solace in reminding himself about the fact this isn't real. "And how would you describe the accused's behavior toward Her Majesty? Any peculiar changes in demeanor toward or the way he addressed her?"

Tapping her talon on her chin in thought for a moment, Hatter's flame on her tail lessened to a little flicker indicating all her focus was set on the answer. In the beginning..It was the well behaved "Yes Man" at the term is coined. Always did everything without question, got instant results if it came from Her Majesty. talk2hand The perfect puppy nipping happily at the Queens heels without a care in the world. It was only a just...just around.......oh my word. emotion_facepalm
She looks to Hare and Dory for assistance in the audience, waving her hands in clueless gesture. What it was last year Dory? We were summoned for the latest beauty product delivery when we walked in on Their Majesties having a conversation with It. It seemed that after Her Majesty married His Majesty and became part of the Hearts Family that It became less subservient. Not at first mind you, very subtle. It's always the quiet ones you have to be wary of I always say. ninja They can be verrrry verrry tricksy. And I was right in this case! Just LOOK at me! LOOK AT ALL MY LOVELY FUR THAT HAS FALLEN AWAY!! scream gonk crying Sniffling loudly the Fox-dragon buries her face in her hands.

Antonio retrieved a tissue from an inside coat pocket and handed it to Lia. You always have to be prepared for the crying witness, and appear sympathetic to them. It does wonders for your case with the jury. Although, there was no jury here stare Still, put on his best "caring lawyer" act, giving her a sympathizing look, gently handing her the tissue, and telling her to take all the time she needs, before addressing the court. "No further questions, Your Honor."He then returned to his seat and tried to mentally plan out which witnesses he should call next and the line of questioning he should pursue with each of them as he doubted Sergio would provide much challenge that he'd have to actively plan for in a cross exam
