Citizen 1701 Steel Sterling NEW question! This is ALSO Next-Generation. Which crewmember once claimed to have been assigned to the Good Ship Lollipop, and why? xd It was Riker, and it was to see if what looked like the commander of the USS Drake was really who he said he was. Then some weapons attempted to pwn them....um...it was on Minos, I know that... CORRECT! The episode was "the Arsenal of Freedom." Riker was facing a hologram faking an officer he knew, who was trying to trick him into revealing secrets. So, Riker, realizing he was facing a fake, gave illogical statements, or untrue ones. When asked if he was on the Enterprise, he replied he was on a different ship, the Lollipop. "It's been recently commissioned. It's a good ship."

Steel Sterling NEW question! The Constitution-class ship the USS Hood was a sister-ship to the Constitution-class ship the USS Enterprise. (NCC-1701, the original series ship.) The USS Hood was one of the first ships to have its lasers removed and replaced with phasers. Why does this piece of trivia make fans want to slap Rick Berman?

Steel Sterling NEW question! This is from NextGen. Tim Russ (Tuvok) fans may know that Russ was considered for the Geordi role originally. He obviously didn't get it, but he DID play at least one role in NextGen, in one episode. When someone attempted a takeover of the Enterprise, Picard was the only crewmember onboard. (It was getting a hard radiation treatment, like fumigation. Picard was trying to leave when the takeover happened.) When he was discovered, Picard claimed to be another crewman. What's the crewman's name, and what's his duty? smile
The Answer is "Mr Mot, the barber" cool ...

We just talked about "Darmok", the NextGen episode where the Enterprise captain faced an alien captain one-on-one on a planet. It was partly based on a TOS episode. A) What was the name of the episode? B) What race did Kirk's opposing captain belong to? C) How did Kirk win? Best 2 out of 3 to post, please.
A) I don't remember the episode's name sad B) Gorn C) by making a canon using minerals from the planet to make gun powder and diamonds for the bullets...

Steel Sterling Steel Sterling NEW question!
This question will now be assimilated. Resistance is futile.
The USS Hood was a Constitution-class ship-just like the Enterprise (NCC-1701, original series ship.) The USS Hood was launched with its main armament as LASERS. So, it was later RETRO-FITTED with PHASERS. That means USS ships didnt have phasers before this class.
So, the entire ENTERPRISE series just disregards this- and a LOT- of Trek history.
Rick Berman had said-early on-that he didn't think Trek history was important-which guaranteed he'd alienate the critical fanbase for the show, and had the nerve to be surprised when the ratings suffered.

cdmajava New question Picard was trying to solve a DNA puzzle. Which was scattered over the galaxy. The message was encoded in what lifes DNA? A) Humanoids B) Plants from many planets C) The Planets crusts D) All of the Above
I gave them a fair chance to answer....
The episode was "the Chase". Love the episode.
"...For all we know, it could just be a recipe for biscuits." "If that's what you think, you can go home now, and I will send you my mother's recipe."
The DNA was seeded in lifeforms across the galaxy. The DNA was a predisposition to humanoid lifeforms- those with 2 arms, 2 legs, one head, with the same # of parts on the exterior as humans.
So, the ultimate answer would be "A".
However, in some places, humanoid life DIDN'T develop, and the genes were stuck in plants, or in the fossils left behind in the Earth's crust. So, depending on your outlook, the answer he's looking for is probably "D" on that basis. The Chase led them to recovering data from all those sources to complete the message.

Steel Sterling NEW question! This is from Deep Space Nine. The station was being evacuated by runabouts. (And other ships we imagine...) Quark got in trouble for scalping seats and producing an overbooking for transport. (More than 60 people, exactly 60 seats.) Rom got off the station, but Quark-who got in trouble for scalping- did not. Why? Because Rom sold his seat to a Dabo Girl. biggrin
