She had poor timing given she had taken a bite of a hot dog and ended up choking some as she tried to not laugh, she recovered with the aid of her soda. "Interesting." Was her short answer to that, a hint of laughter still in her voice, it was odd how she flipped through emotions with such ease but she did, without problems even.

Duncan took a moment to recover before he growled in mock menace, "Aye, interesting. Especially since I remember it nearly going the other way."

"Well, if you want to get picky about it," Methos shrugged, eyes sparkling with amusement. "Phoenix, you see before you the Last Boy Scout. Duncan MacLeod of the clan MacLeod rode to my rescue like a knight in shining tartan, slew the bad immortal and saved us all. Me, the maiden, Joe -- the whole Immortal race."

She couldn't but to laugh on that, it was funny in a twisted way, with a shake of her head she sipped on her coke, "You are both cracked, okay maybe not both..." She trailed off with a smile on that, "Don't think I have to worry about driving you nuts, Joe is right on that."

"I guess that settles which one of us she's sure is cracked," Duncan said smugly.

"If you say so," Methos said serenely, dipping a chicken finger in sauce. "Wait 'til she gets to know you better."

With a small smirk she shrugged, "May you're both nuts, time will tell that much." Short statement before she finished off one hot dog and went to the next, one would think for someone so thin that she didn't eat a lot when it was the other way around.

It was Methos' turn to look smug as he ate his chicken fingers and drank his beer. The rest of the meal went on with companionably idle chit-chat, mostly between the two males, and when they were done Duncan paid the bill.

Joe came hobbling over. "How was everything?"

"Good," Methos said. "Just like the Colonel used to make."

"I was asking Miss Draka, smart a**," Joe growled.

Phoenix grinned on that, not smiled but truly grinned on Joe's words"Very nice, I liked the breading on the fries a lot, most places have cheap crappy fries now days, it's rather sad." With a half a shrug she flashed a small smile, "Thank you."

Joe smiled back. "You're welcome. Come around any time. Any friend of Adam's--" He stopped for a moment, blue-grey eyes locking with Methos' for a moment. "Well, not just any friend..."

"They weren't my friends," Methos grounded out, knowing full well the old blues man was remembering three of the Four Horsemen.

Duncan unexpectedly reached out and patted Methos hand. "It's all right. We know what you meant, Joe."

"I'll walk you to your car, if you want," Methos said to Phoenix, standing.

She watched them oddly throughout that exchange of words but didn't care enough to question any of it, however on Adam's question she snapped her attention to him. "Uh, sure?" Phoenix hadn't meant to make it a question, really hadn't, but it turned out that way simply because she wasn't seeing why she needed an escort. Okay so he could just he polite, unlike her, that was a possibility, but still, she was not the most trusting of people, even people she had already given some trust to.

"Sure," Methos smiled back at her.

"Good night, Phoenix," Duncan said as they walked out of the bar.

"It's hard, isn't it?" Methos asked her as they went down the sidewalk. "I don't trust easily, either. There have been times when I was down-right paranoid. It's not a bad thing to be, if you want to keep you head."

Inside the bar, Joe sat heavily in Methos' vacated seat after Mike cleared the dinner debris, and looked at Duncan. "Well, she's not in the data base, never had a Watcher."

"Does she need one?" MacLeod asked wearily, finishing his beer.

Joe snorted. "You know how it is, Mac."

She shrugged, "I wouldn't trust my own twin." Which she didn't, that gave away she had a twin too, but that was past the point, they weren't exactly twins anymore given her twin looked 40ish. But the statement was very true, painfully true even, that being why she never bothered with people, they got annoying after a while, wanting to now more then she wanted them to. Though she ended up suddenly stopping in her steps, "s**t, I left my keys on the table."

"Do you want me to go back and get them?" Methos asked her.

Inside the bar Joe said, "Don't worry so much, Mac. We've been doing this for two thousand years. We know how to be discrete."

"You haven't told Methos he has a Watcher, too, have you?" MacLeod said. Under the table the toe of his shoe hit something that jingled. He look across at Joe with a curious expression.

"How did you--" Joe saw the look. "What?"

She looked at him funny on that, "I think I'm capable of going and getting them on my own, I'm always leaving them places." It was funny the places her keys would end up, same with her phone too, she learned a freeze can kill a phone oddly enough. "Once of these days I'm not going to be able to find them and get pissed off." That was more under her breath then anything else but with a sigh she glanced to them, "Fine, if you feel like being helpful you go get them.

Methos rolled his eyes, smiling. "I was just trying out that chivalry thing MacLeod's always practising." He shrugged. "What a surprise -- It doesn't fit my idiom. Come on, we'll go back together, then you can walk to your car by yourself."

Inside:
Duncan reached under the table and came up with a set of car keys. "Must be Phoenix's," he said.

She gave a careless shrug, "that works too I guess." Nope really wasn't caring at all as she went to head back for the building, at lest being kind enough to see if he was coming.
