I think for me it was when my friend said "Oh have you ever seen Gravitation?"
And I was like, "What's gravitation?" And he just stared at me. The next day I brought the manga and started branching out to other things. mrgreen

A few years ago I read Demon Diary in a B. Dalton. The story was a bit too girly for me and I was gonna put it back (despite Eclipses' hotness) until I got to the side stories. Next thing I knew, I was walking out of that store with the manwha in a little plastic bag.
Ive been obsessed with BL and yaoi ever since. mrgreen

When I was nine, I found an art site (known as deviantART xD) and at that time, I was obsessing over this one anime, Beyblade. Now, being the little girl I was, I didn't expect anything explicit to come way (nor did I even know of the existence; let's just say my mind was purely innocent and still thought of childish things, and I still thought boys had cooties) so I just searched around and found something labeled "TyKa." I was curious as to what "TyKa" meant, so I clicked on it, and I saw two guys (Tyson and Kai)... naked... on top of each other... staring at the night sky. At first, all I could do was stare at it because I was so shocked, and I almost thought it was hot, but then my senses kicked in and my reaction came: "Um, eww, that looks wrong."
Um, about a year passed, and I found the picture again. I guess I was still mesmorized by it, but this time I thought it was pretty cute, thus I've started liking yaoi. Fanart made me start liking it. xD

I came upon it all innocently, reading though ff.net before it was tainted. What went on in those stories made my insides tingle so I went "...okay 8D"

i was 12 when i found yaoi i was kinda this huge christan who was like "ZOMG HOMOSEXULALITY IS WRONG!!!1"
so i was reading kingdom heart fics when i stumbled across a rikusora fic...it was M rated and had lemons in it lots of lemons sooo when i read it i was all "OMGWTFBBQ" but then i kinda grew to like it the only bad thing is that they don't sell any yaoi or shonen ai manga at my library cry

I came across it several years back during my freshman year of high school. Usually, I'm not into the whole 'love' sort of theme at all when it comes to any form of papers. But, I decided to give it a shot but I didn't want the usual romance between girlxboy so I found one of boyxboy. I found it much more thrilling, daring, and exciting than any others I've ever read or watched. Since then I've been a fan of the shounen-Ai and Yaoi reading and watcing what I can when I have the time. Fujimi Orchestra was the story I read for the first time in case you were wondering.

I guess I just slowly got into it. I'd see a series where BL was hinted at... I started seeing some pictures... It was a gradual build up mixed with pure curiosity.

I read a book when I was 15 and it had male/male relationships. At first I went: "o.O That other one is a guy too? Wow."
I continued reading and then I was already thinking it was damn hot.
I have always loved writing, but after that my crappy romantic writings weren't about man and woman but two guys together. xd And when I found out there is actually a thing called yaoi and there is manga and anime about it... I was in heaven! heart

LMAO. This thread is hilarious. For me my first yaoi to see was from Gundam Wing. I was like somewhere in my teens (13-15??) and I was just surfing the web for pics and I saw this HORRIBLE fanart of Heero/Duo and I screamed like, "WHAT THE HELL IS THAT?!"
Then I called my brother over and was like, "WTH?!"
rofl
We surfed pages for a while and were pretty horrified. Of course, later on, I found really pretty fanart and everything was right as rain, especially since I started to notice the gay tones in the show. ^_^

Well, when I watched anime names Rurouni Kenshin, I started to have perverted thoughts about Kenshin's and Sanosuke's relationship, all of sudden. 8'D And while searching pics of 'em, I found some delicious pics and doujinshis and so meh soul was taken.
Even though meh sis watched Gravitation and drew YukiShuichi-pics all the time, I didn't think anything from that. o_o Meh yaoi-madness started from non-yaoi anime just all of sudden. XD
