When the princess turned her gaze to look up from the menu, she noticed a familiar face beside her to the right. Rei smiled warmly as Angelo gave her a small silver box with sky blue ribbon tied to it. The other two items were a bag for holding items and Japanese version of a baby carrier, which she guessed were for Akio. Rei let Akio sleep on her lap, which she didn't mind, knowing how often infants were likely to be tired. Carefully, she untied the ribbon and opened the box, which contained a simple sakura hairpin outlined in bronze. "Thank you very much! It's beautiful!" Rei answered with a small joyful smile. She gently wrapped her arms around Angelo in a hug, glad to have a friend for some company on a holiday she hardly ever celebrated, even back home.

Angelo returned the hug. "You are very welcome." he replied with a small smile at her as well as little Akio. "I put what the kit would need in the bag, so he should be good for tonight at any rate." he added, referring to the bag before going back to the menu. There was a lot of interesting things on the menu. Some he never heard of but it would be fine a** he liked trying new.things. "By the way, is anyone else coming?" he asked after a pause, looking back up at Rei, wondering if she invited anyone else.

Hearing her companion's question, it seemed to slightly catch her off guard once she let go of him. Rei let out a small sigh, attempting to keep her composure. "Well... just Anna... If she does decide to come." the princess answered him a bit hesitantly. Her gaze shifted back towards the menu in front of her, turning to the Asian food section. She was a bit surprised Angelo had included some infant items in the bag, yet thankful for his help as always. The conversation with Karmala from earlier seemed to run through her mind, though she tried to ignore it for the moment. 'Perhaps I was too pushy, but then again, Anna would never act like that to begin with.' Rei thought observantly, but pushed such thoughts aside. The entire thing gave her much to think about, yet it felt more like she was dealing with the royal court alone in order to make some kind of critical decision.

Angelo was silent for a moment. He really hoped that she meant the real Anna. As the fake one have him the creeps. Though he had a nagging suspicion that is was the witch wearing Anna's face but it was just a guess at best. "I see." was all he said as he looked at the Italian part of the menu. Ah. Here we go. "So, what are you going to order while we wait dor her?" he asked, deciding what he wanted as he waited forever reaponse. He was glad that he had the foresight to get Rei a baby carrier as little Akio Also was wobbling slightly and He told her this.

Princess Rei managed to keep her composure, despite being a bit hesitant of her other friend's possible arrival. She hoped the witch wouldn't return for the rest of the night. Once more, her attention went back towards her companion Angelo. "Um... maybe some sushi and tea. What about you?" Rei inquired calmly as she closed the menu, placing it off to the side of the table. She fell silent, letting her friend have time to think. Carefully she held little Akio up a bit with her left arm, not wanting to disturb his peaceful slumber. For the moment, spending the evening meal with her neighbor was better than a night alone.

Angelo was silent for a moment or two. "Ah. The lasagna and a glass of iced tea." he replied as he closed his own menu, setting it aside. He looked over at Rei and frowned slightly. "Are you okay, Rei?" he asked after a second of watching her. She seemed uneasy and couldn't help but wonder what brought this on. Was it because of The witch? Even when she's not here she's causing problems.

Princess Rei let out a heavy sigh, doing her best to relax. Her gaze shifted back towards her companion, despite what she felt at the moment. "Sometimes I can't help but wonder... why Karmala would dare to play such crazy mind games like this! I hate it!" For a moment, she paused to try and collect her thoughts. "It's like staring back at the opposite, most twisted versions of everyone I know and... things soon fall apart, I suppose." Rei finished, glancing back at the empty table as if unsure how else to describe what was on her mind. The waiter soon came by their table, ready to take their orders. Princess Rei fell silent yet again, letting the waiter do his job. Grabbing the quill pen in hand, she decided to draw something on the nearest blank piece of paper. The picture consisted of just the outlines of a forest with a giant, pitch black colored nine tailed fox. Rei drew an angered expression on the fox's face with the stance as if he were guarding something in the old ruined temple behind him. She made sure to include the background, which was during nightfall.

Angelo shrugged. "Who knows what goes on in the mind of the witch." he replied after stating his order, way him as the waiter took thier their orders and then headed away. He just remained silent on the second statement as he watched her start to draw. A black kitsune? Huh. Did that mean something? "You know, you'ryou're very good at that." he said as he continued to watch hwr draw while keeping an eye on the still sleeping Akio, smiling slightly at the scene as the waited brought back thier drinks before disappearing again.

Princess Rei indeed had to agree with her companion. Maybe it was best to not speak of the matter any further, considering all that occurred at the beginning of the day. A small smile appeared on her face at Angelo's remark. "Thanks. It's for a story I'm working on." Rei answered calmly. She paused long enough to take a drink of tea, then put the cup down. Picking up the quill pen again, Princess Rei added a few spare details, one being a small shadowy figure clinging to one of the kitsune's tails behind him, though the child's face was well hidden by the shadows. She moved on to adding a few effects with fireflies surrounding the nearby pond close to the kitsune's cave. Rei used the colored ink to fill in the details so the picture would be in color, careful not to mess anything up. "Haven't thought of a good title yet." the princess added observantly.

Angelo took a sip of his iced tea as he continued to watch her. "Really? What's it about? If you don't mind me asking?" he replied after a second, thinking that the kitsune looked like a black version of his own form but he knew that it wasn't. "I'm sure that you'll figure out a name for it." he added with a smile as he leaned back in his chair. He had to admit that the picture almost looked real if he didn't know any better.

Princess Rei finished the colors in the picture, setting down the quill pen on the table. "The fox finds an orphan girl in the forest one day. He decides to be her guardian and raise her. When she got older, she met a boy around her age fishing in the western river. The girl sits in the distance quietly watching him every day. Problem is, she has no idea what friendship is since she's not been around other people most of her life. It's kind of inspired by my sister's experiences growing up." she concluded. Just then, the waiter returned with their orders and gave them their food. Rei grabbed the chopsticks on her plate, pulled them apart and began eating a piece of inari sushi. She was glad to relax in a much quieter environment, though it had been better than a noisy hospital.

Angelo just sat back and listened to her tale, fascinated. "I see. It sounds like a very interesting past." He replied with a smile as the waiter brought the food. Good. He was starving. He grabbed a fork and knife and started to slice up his lasagna, taking a bite and nodding in joy. Thisbwas very good. He would be sure to leave a tip for the waiter. This was nice. Just sitting here with a friend instead of a full hospit of noise. He was used to it but still it was just nice to sit back and just relax.

"Indeed... it was." Rei answered her companion calmly with a slight nod. Once again, she ate another piece of inari sushi with her chopsticks while somewhat lost in thought. Picking up the quill pen, the princess began a second picture on another blank piece of paper. The picture consisted of both herself and her sister standing near the back of a group of young knights, outside in a vast open field with the castle far in the background. Within the foreground had been the instructor and another student, giving the lesson. Rei made sure to include the training armor on both of them within the picture as she worked on the outline. "Most days, we'd join the knights for training. Kind of different than what I was used to, but I kept up as best I could." she added, smiling a bit wistfully while filling in the details.

Angelo continued to eat as Rei started on another drawing. He sat there, listening patiently as she talked about training with her sister and such and couldn't help but be fascinated by what she was telling her. "I see. Those knights must have put you through the ringer, right?" he asked as he washed his food down with more.of his iced tea. He.noticed little Akio Also was starting to stir and had to hide a smile at his how cute he was, blinking sleepily. "Your kit is starting to wake, Rei." he said after a moment.

Princess Rei simply nodded in reply to Angelo's question. She placed the quill pen down upon the table, turning her attention back to her infant son. No doubt he was awake at last despite being a bit sleepy. Rei smiled warmly as she adjusted her grip to hold Akio in both her arms, kissing his cheek in greeting. "Hey there sweetheart." she spoke softly to her little boy, letting him grasp her finger in one of his tiny hands. Akio had his gaze back towards his mother's friend, seeming curious as to his silly outfit. "Someday, I want to bring him back home with me, to show him where I'm from." Rei spoke observantly as she leaned back against the chair a bit to relax.
