... Too much could have well been just enough. Sephos couldn't plant anything until the road was a little less... road-y... but he could put down a few more flowers somewhere...

And he did. Hands covered with dirt, a slightly traumatized plant turning its face to the sun, the smell of living things in his nose...

He was in his element.

Pretty soon now the lusus quarters would be complete. It was an interesting facility to be sure, an eclectic collection of space and supply storage, meant to be able to house all manner of troll rearing creature. How effective it would be in function was still to be seen, but to breed community amongst the parents would help breed community amongst the children. It would be something to keep a close eye on.

Stretching her legs, Tsarzi was making a round of the settlement, mentally tracking progress, when she found a few trolls working with some pavement tiles, pasting wet cement on top and recycling the broken glass shards from around the construction sites to make some decor for the gardens. That was creative and a good way to reuse the shiny colorful glass. Tsarzi helped ferry the ones already complete to the outdoor gardens and place them.

Sephos Arbola

With an idea in mind and something to strive for, Sephos' work on the lake road was much better. Every step he took along it, every stone he laid, he knew what he would plant beside it. And beyond it. The soil here in the plains was good - he could make it work.

Unfortunately the plants he had set aside to rear for the sake of planting by the lake road weren't doing well. A few of his hybrids had gotten sick, and needed to be culled. Not the right cross, he supposed, but he needed them to be able to handle less water, otherwise they would take too much water from the farms or die during the drier seasons.

Not good.

He had to try again.

After helping with the garden decorations, Tsarzi headed back over to road construction. Work on the Lake Road looked like it had hot a snag and could use a bit of forward momentum to get things rolling again. On her way over she stopped by the City Hall and lit a fire under a few resting troll's asses, which meant she arrived not just with her own manpower to add, but that of a few others.

Tsarzi, when she retired from road work for the time being, remembered seeing some sprouts set to the side for transplanting into one of the far gardens. Might as well see about getting that taken care of while she watered there. Working with the soil, working with machinery, there was plenty to do around here.

Tsarzi gave the upper windows a long, long look. The only cause for this to be happening was childish behavior. They were here to work, to see this place built, and somehow in their efforts, a redblood was now dangling for a window while clutching their airborne aquatic barkbeast lusus what was stuck in the window frame. This might take a while to sort out..

Chores bore no more progress than work on construction tonight. Tsarzi instead had to spend some time helping untangle a flustered teen and a gaggle of kids that had somehow gotten all of their wind chimes tangled together and then around them. Not many of the ornaments survived once the scissors were bust out.

Progress on the projects coming along was important, but letting any one project fall too far behind and feet might start to drag. It wasn't a smart reaction, but trolls working some of the less traveled roadwork might get discouraged, left in the dust. That assessment led to Tsarzi heading up some progress on road construction that night, taking part in making sure work on getting drainage set up was coming along properly. She'd been studying up on that since they'd passed that phase on one of the other roads and she wanted to be sure it went smoother the next couple times.

There was trash scattered all over the lawn in front of one of the hive complexes. Actual garbage. Plastic wrappers, used tissues, old bandages, just an assortment of flat out trash. And sitting forlornly amongst it all was a groaning troll that still held onto the tops of the shredded trash bags that spilled the filth everywhere. Looks like Tsarzi and this lump had some work to do.

Progress would go smoother if the trolls up tops weren't so tired or maybe just clumsy. Did they need gloves? Those should have been provided earlier. Either way, this was ridiculous the paneling getting passed up for placement on the upper walls kept getting dropped. Tsarzi blew a sigh out ehr nose and stalked off to locate trolls fit to swap out the job.

None of the trolls stringing crafts around the city hall has such butter fingers as those left too long on construction duty. Tsarzi was able to easily assist handing the decorations up with little to no problem once she rigged up a pulley system so that they stopped having to climb down to get the next piece.

Over by road construction, one of the machines was running low on gas and another was jammed up. Not much they could do to get the one running again, too many trolls trying to stick their hand sin would only complicate the process. Tsarzi could retrieve gas and coral some of the distracted back to work though..

The less glamorous parts of tidying up the place was cleaning up the areas where construction passed through. Today was taking care of the mess left from ground crew having to swap machines, leaving tracks across the fields between the roads. Nobody wanted that getting set, so Tsarzi and some other were spreading bras seed and smoothing the ground.
