And just like that, Naiya was standing on the beach of a lovely island paradise. She hadn't said anything about wanting to return, and she could feel Rei and Critter sleeping. Could feel their grip still on her conscious. Anything that could trigger would send them hounding her and making her go back to that awful place again. She didn't want to go... It was dark... Her friends probably already hated her, and she wasn't sure if her voice could even work anymore. She felt fine, but the fear had her shaking. She had never been one of those girls. One of those scared little girls... She just hadn't. Maybe it was that fierce style she carried herself with. It was her only guess at this point. Looking around, it felt nice to have the sun on her skin again. To feel like she belonged where she was. She took a deep breathe of fresh air and started walking towards the town here on the island. She should be more worried about where she was even at. But she didn't care. She was out. She was in the sunshine. The darkness wasn't there.
It didn't take long before Naiya was feeling herself again. Still very sensitive and uncertain, but able to smile freely. Maybe she just was good at smiling? It felt like forever since her face had even done that motion. And she was enjoying it so much. She sighed quietly as she breathed in the ocean air. Quite at home in the sun.

Luna took Lana's hand and mounted the Mudsdale, then spent a second making sure her Pichu and Popplio were safely recalled into their balls. The young girl took a nervous look at the ground as her heart thud in her chest. Excitement and terror competed in her mind as she braced herself for the ride. Gently, Luna patted Abby on the neck and a strange feeling washed over her. Luna was riding a Pokemon.
She was riding on a Pokemon! Sure, it wasn't a Ponyta or whatever most girls dreamed of owning, but this was beyond cool. Lana ruffled Luna's hair, but Luna didn't mind it at all.
Lana handled the logistics of the travel, and Luna was happy just to have her cousin there. That previous Pokemon battle was a lot more terrifying than she cared to admit, and her Pichu paid the cost. Luna tried not to scold herself too terribly over it. This just meant she would need to buckle up and take things seriously.
"Thank you, Lana," Luna said as they started moving. "I'm sure I'd be freaking out and crying if it wasn't for you."

Mitsu got to the route after Erryn and her pursers, worried he might be too late to help. That was until he saw the two men alone and looking around for her, which was a huge relief. Mitsu was a bit too scared to keep Mizu out when these guys were around because he didn't know who they were or what they wanted, so instead of risking it, Mitsu returned Mizu to her ball so she'd be safe before setting Akari down and kneeling."Can you go find Erryn for me? I'm sure she's hiding somewhere around here. I want to make sure she's safe.""Pi!"Okay. That was the cutest damn salute he'd ever seen. Mitsu stood as Pichu scurried across the ground and looked around for Erryn, but instead of watching Akari's progress, he paid attention to the men that'd been chasing the poor girl. They weren't really moving around....Were they hoping she'd let her hiding spot slip if they waited long enough? Erryn was a little kid. Outside the lab, the tropical sun shone brightly and relentlessly. Heidi raised a hand to shield her eyes at the sun and squinted out at the Melemele Sea. The blue stretched endlessly into the horizon, and there was some weird sense of comfort in the everlasting forever that the sea brought. She could be standing here in Alola and still be connected to the home she loved by the sea. The thought gave her strength to continue with this journey. Surely she'd be more successful than her older brother, or, that's what she wished.
"Let's, go Goldie. We should head back to Hau'oli City." Iki Town could be reached from Route 1 as well, but from what she'd heard, Iki Town was a dead end. There wasn't anything up there besides the kahuna and the Ruins of Conflict. She'd make it there in due time if she was successful with her first island trial. For now, Hau'oli City was her destination, specifically the boutique. This much sun wasn't good for her skin or her eyes. How stupid of her to forget both a hat and some sunglasses. At least she had sunscreen. For now, the lotion would have to do the job protecting her.
The soft sand was hot under her feet, and both Heidi and Goldie were glad to get back on the grass at the edge of the beach. Her meowth scratched at her head, her ears perking up momentarily, before she bounded through the grass to a huge boulder that blocked the entrance to what looked like a huge rocky hill. "There's no way we can get around this," she muttered to herself. "That's correct! The only way to Ten Carat Hill is through the rocks," a trial guide suddenly spoke, spooking the daylights out of Heidi. In her surprise, she jumped back before standing and quickly trying to appear cool and calm once more. Through, huh? She wouldn't be able to smash the rocks herself, and neither would Goldie. Perhaps what was hiding in Ten Carat Hill wasn't meant for her to see, at least for now.
She thanked the trial guide and continued up the way she came down to the lab. Heidi carefully and slowly waded through the tall grass, not eager to be ambushed by any wild Pokemon, and made her way up the gentle slopes that led down to the sea. She stood at the crossroads of Route 1, briefly entertaining the idea of heading north to Iki Town or east to Hau'oli. Hau'oli was the final destination, but the walk to Iki Town didn't seem to bad. There were two routes leading up to the town, and one of those paths was clear of any tall grass. With no potential dangers, maybe it wouldn't be too bad to check out Iki Town.
The path up to Iki Town was an uphill slope. Dear Arceus, Heidi needed to work on her calves some more. The strip up to the top of hill was unforgiving for a rookie adventurer, and Heidi decided that she'd see Iki Town some other day. A little disappointed in herself, she walked down the slope and found a shady patch of grass to sit and rest.
"This place is nothing like home," she remarked to Goldie. While Sinnoh did have its great mountains and small slopes, it was mostly flat and easier to traverse. "We're not doing too well, aren't we?" Even from the little traveling that they did, both were tired already. Heidi was never the adventurous spirit, and Goldie was a house cat for most her life. Trying new things was never easy first, and they had to persevere. Heidi would not quit before she even gotten off Melemele Island.
After a moment of rest, she stood again and stretched her legs. "Alright, off to Hau'oli. It's not too far from here." From their spot, Heidi could see the Trainer's School on the edge of the city. It'd just be another short walk before they could enjoy the metropolitan life again and get some proper rest at the Pokemon Center. Goldie meowed lazily, but she rose to her feet and began walking to the city, her tail flicking for her trainer to follow.

Walking outside, Skye forced herself not to go right back into the lab. In her excitement, she completely forgot about actually preparing herself for the saltiness of the air. At least the waves weren't that loud. Giving a single pat to Belladona's head (because the wolf would've bitten her if she did it more than once), Skye walked into the grass and stretched. Now that her business with Kukui was finished, she had to think about what to do. It was so tempting to call her parents and ask for a lift to another region, but at the same time, there were more than a couple of Flying-types she wanted to see in Alola. Probably wouldn't hurt to see the famous Alolan variants she'd heard about. She was curious what an Ice-type Sandshrew looked like."Okay. I've got a game plan. We're going to stay in Alola and meet as many of their Flying-types as my stomach will let me. Maybe even catch some of them. We'll get training and team growth done all at once. And, we'll start right here on Route One. I'm pretty sure I saw a bird I've never seen before when Winky landed.""Wonderful plan, Princess. It didn't take long for them to encounter their first Alolan Pokemon; or, in this case, their first Pokemon in Alola. A Pichu jumped out of a nearby bush and caught her attention. But, that was admittedly the worst Pokemon she could've encountered. Pichu were Electric-types, and those had a serious advantage over Flying-types. Her best bet would be to send out Jamimarie or Blinky, but at the same time....They wouldn't gain much from it if it was around Natalina's level. This sucked. Taking a deep breath as she thought, Skye decided to not risk it. She'd just have to hope for a better opponent next time."You're up, Jamimarie!"Jamimarie appeared from her ball with a threatening rear, clearly eager for the fight. To the Pichu's credit, it didn't run off and stood it's ground. Impressive for a tiny guy."Do your best, girl!"

That was way too close for comfort. Skye had to be more careful or her team was not going to do very well. She should've done Leaf Storm from the very beginning and ended it before it even started, but she didn't want to seriously maim the Pichu. It was so small compared to Jamimarie.Next time, no mercy.Skye hurried over to Jamimarie and rubbed under her chin, careful not to dislodge any of the peaches growing at the base."You were a boss out there, Jami. Those shocks had nothing on you."Skye pressed her head to the Tropius's own before reaching into her bag, manuvering her hand around Natalina, until she pulled out a couple of potions. They wouldn't do anything for the paralysis, but they'd help treat her wounds."Remind me to buy some cures when we go shopping, Pepeki....There you go, girl. I'll get those pesky shocks treated as soon as I can. Promise. Get some rest in the meantime.""Tro...."She did love Jamimarie's cooing and she laughed a little when she butted Skye's head, the sparks on her body catching some of Skye's hair. After returning the Tropius to her ball for some rest, Skye rubbed her ear thoughtfully. Cures were definitely on the shopping list.

Erryn owed Mitsu one. A big one. He had no obligation to help her, but was going out of his way to do so anyway. Next time they met up, she had to let him know she appreciated his help. The little brunette watched from behind the bush as Mitsu and his Pichu approached the two men from behind, catching their attention."Okay. I think that's our cue."Erryn and Bryant made their way down the road, mostly sticking to the side for quick cover, but they made it to the docks easily enough. Looking back at Mitsu, Erryn almost ran back to help when she saw one of the men had him by his shirt collar, but he looked more than calm. The only problem with her plan was that she didn't know where to find the Flying-types of Alola. She knew what they were, but not where they were. Well, it was a good thing Skye had people more than willing to help her out. Time to give the crew a call. Skye used her communicator to do just that and waited for either or both of her parents to answer. Instead, her call was picked up by George."Hey, George. Think you can look in the database and tell me where Pikipek, Oricorio, and Minior are?"There was a snort followed by keyboard key clicking before George gave a smile. "Says here Pikipek can be found on Route One, which is where you are right now. Melemele Meadow, Route Six, Poni Meadow, and Ula'ula Meadow all have Oricorio; each with one of the four styles it can change to. And, little Minior is native to Mount Hakulani." Wow. That was...a lot of places for only three Pokemon. Well, she guessed starting right outside the Professor's was the first course of action. "Be careful. It says here that Poni, Ula'ula, and Hakulani have stronger Pokemon that you probably can't handle right now. Also....Hm.""What is it?""You should take the time to catch the Alola variants of Kanto's Pokemon, since you'll be doing a lot of catching anyway. Apparently, Samson Oak in Iki Town is giving away rewards to trainers that can show him all eighteen of them, along with the four Oricorio styles." Wow.
