it's a sort of custom for most asian families to take off their shoes before entering a house. Well, back then anyways. Now it just depends on the people, but for my family, we still do.

it depends which house I'm going to...some ppl said I could keep my shoes on so I dont have to take them off...haha,but it's good manners to take your shoes off

Not when I enter. I take them off in my bedroom; which is pretty close to the front door anyway.
I don't think anybody leaves their shoes on; espicially after a long day, your feet need some air.
