Slytherin Quidditch Practice: Tryouts Open [[Jun-Aug 2024]]

Things were off nicely as Vanessa was giving the newbies a run for their money, and Belle appeared to be making the two seeker try-outs kick it in to overdrive already. The first bludger that sailed on by Vanessa had Ronyo chuckling just a bit as he watched Dominic give the cannon ball the hit onwards. It was likely Dominic knew Vanessa would not be hit so easily by a bludger and it always gave the sixth year chaser a chance to show off a bit.

With that Ronyo pulled his broom up on high to go for a bludger he spotted and also to get a better look at the game. As he peaked in his assent the captain saw his would-be projectile and moved in at an angle to the orb. With a quick pull of the broom's neck and a kick of the back end Ronyo put himself into an easy drift and then he pulled up hard to rotate himself and come around hard and quick in a a quick three hundred and sixty degree back flip and connected his bat with the bludger using the momentum of the spin, turn, and drift to propel the ball forward and into a spinning motion that put a curse on the orb. The bludger was heading towards Nora, who seemed fairly confident and skilled enough for a first year to begin challenging Vanessa for the quaffle.

Vanessa barely managed t to avoid a steal for the second time. She tightened the grip on the ball and pushed forward to avoid anymore steal attempts. Finally she was in the scoring range. No one but her and the first year trying for reserved Keeper. She smiled a bit and adjusted her hand on the ball. Once she was satisfied with the grip she lined the quaffle with one of the open hoops. A deep breath passed through her lips as she pushed the ball from her palm towards the goals.

Virgil took off on his broom he was demented to prove himself even if it was to a half breed captain. He saw that Vanessa already had the ball and was making a shot. He sneered, he would not let that happen again he moved up to get the next ball.

Darius followed after Belle trying to keep up with her as looked for the snitch. He was thankful he broke into his family's broom closets wile they where away for a chance to fly or he would be on the ground still. His eyes darted back and forth then he saw Belle fly yup had she seen the ball he looked for the golden glimmer of the ball.

With a thud Ronyo sighed and chuckled a bit as his new and rather risky quick spin hit had turned against him. The ball had not spun correctly in the air and moved to hit him in the shoulder instead of moving off towards its intended target. Ronyo wondered if the bludgers just didn't like him because it seemed they always had it out for him. A chuckle and a quick burst of speed put Ronyo back on track and heading towards the same bludger to see if he could put the orb to good use this time.

Staying with normal tactics this time Ronyo moved in high over the bludger and then dipped down to come in from above on the little orb of chaos. He took a quick look to see if he needed to readjust his target but figured Nora had shown the most effort so far and thus needed a little extra test to see how she could fair under dynamic situations. When bat meet bludger the sphere was sent off towards Nora hopefully to make it to its intended target this time.

((OOC: really? Even in a practice game the little bludgers try and take me out. Lol oh well, all in fun right?))

A frown slipped it's way across Vanessa's face when the quaffle went unobstructed. Had she gotten to serious too fact against the first year wannabe keeper? well they had to get used to it, regardless. After all both Chase and Remy would still more then likely be still playing on their respective house team when these guys would take over 100% assuming their interest would continue. The blond then turned her broom around ready to attempt to steal once one of the other chasers hat the scarlet ball.

Virgil saw his chance as Vanessa threw the ball into the goal he swooped in from behind the post to grab it. He started to make his way to the other goals. He was not going to lose his chance to shine.

Third Year: Slytherin Chaser



Amanda looked at Ronyo when he spoke. She nodded, knowing he trusted her and Vanessa to show everyone how to play the chaser role like a true Slytherin. No one could be on the team if they weren't tough, and the two girls were going to show everyone what that meant. The third year mounted her broom and pushed her feet off the ground, soaring high into the air. Amanda had to play against Eretria. This should be interesting, she thought as she scanned for the third year and the sixth year. When she saw the two Slytherin girls on the other side of the pitch already, she quickly zoomed through the sky, trying to get there as fast as possible.

((Since I'm not going to catch up to them just yet, I figured I shouldn't roll the dice. Not until I'm at least near them))

Vanessa scored, which normally was not something unusual and worth celebrating but the boy had seemed almost dazed. Having Vanessa come at you like that could be part of it, once she got in the zone it was hard to stop her. It looked like the young chaser who had been part of the quarrel earlier was looking to make himself known. He picked up the quaffle and headed in toward the goal Jasmine was guarding. Trying to get past Vanessa and then Jasmine would not be an easy task, but Ronyo thought it would be best to put more pressure on the boy as well. He seemed to enjoy running his mouth so now it was time to see if he could put action to those words.

With a quick dip and then climb Ronyo put himself in line with another bludger that was hanging around the side of the pitch. With a quick spin and a low strike from his bat Ronyo put a back spin on the ball and sent it down but then back up to curve in towards Virgil. Odd bludger directions were always a good test of someone's base awareness, bludgers coming in at spinning angles were different then there natural flight path which added layer of difficulty to them for dodging.

Virgil was so busy focusing on his own plans that the bludger came out of a nowhere and nearly knocked him off the broom. His eyes watered from the pain and rage as he fought to right himself with the quaffle. He managed to right himself as he held on he was not going to let a stupid ball stop him.

Darius thought he saw something but as soon as he looked it was gone. This was becoming hard he moved up closer to belle hoping for a better look to see it. He wanted to prove his family wrong he was as good as the rest of them even better if need be.

Amanda continued to fly in a straight line, slowly catching up to Vanessa and Eretria. That was when she saw the older student score. "That was ace!" she yelled over the whole pitch; however, she was probably too far to be heard by the sixth year.
