Oliver had never been so nervous for quidditch tryouts before in his life, and he wasn’t even competing for a spot on the team this year. The nerves were from a mixture of things – one being that this was his first year as captain. As a vice captain, he never really had to deal with anything except for helping choose the team and positions for everyone, and even then, Leon chose them and Ollie just agreed (unless he actually didn’t agree with his choices). Now, it was on him to make all the tough decisions. His first decision while being captain was already hard enough – who would be the vice captain. Oliver already made up his mind about that one, but he was afraid that his decision may hurt Reyna’s feelings. Or what if his Flick declines and says no? What if she doesn’t want the position? On top of all of that, four of the team’s best players graduated, which inevitably meant a lot of newbies would be on the team this year, if they even tried out, that is. No matter how nervous he was, Ollie came prepared with forms for more than enough potential players. Now all he had to do was wait.

Callista thought she stood a very good chance of making first string, especially since she was trying out as a chaser. Everyone knew Slytherin had lost four players last year, which meant a beater, chaser, seeker, and keeper slot were all open.
