zz1000zz IY_and_MCR If I was to pick a favorite auther it would be Ray Bradbury. I enjoy his books/short stories a great deal. I realize how unethusiastic that sounds. I'm like a bullet through a flock of dovesHeh. I like him, but i enjoyed Aasimov's work more. And the Niven guy. I can never remember his first name, but he wrote Ring of Life and such. Of course, then there are "classics" like Mr. Isaac, H.G. Wells, Charles Dickens, Mark Twain, H.P. Lovecraft... Oh yeah, right now i am out of reading material! I have nothing to read that i have not read before, and i have little i have not read twice or more. The town library failed quickly, and now even the school library has little to offer me. I am starting to wonder if it is possible that i would read every book in the Library of Congress. If i keep going at my current rate, i just might! I really must get moving. I have read most of the books contained in our house, but that isn't near enough. At the moment I am reading Frankenstien which I found a little while ago inside our couch. Disorder

Ruroni Kenshin was okay, but way too preachy for me. That is the same thing that turned me off of Trigun. I do not want my characters to be prissy goody-two shoes. Sure, i can accept it in a couple shows, but not every single one.
I like my characters to have some depth, maybe a struggle of some sort. I do not need someone who can kill a hundred people without thought telling me not to kill. I need that person to kill a hundred people without thinking. It is far more entertaining.

zz1000zz *yawn* Wow, i just realized how dull those posts were. I basically listed a bunch of names without realing saying anything. No real jokes or witty remarks... Man that sucked. I blame it on my lack of liquid refreshment. That or I am rubbing off on you. Fear my dullness, for it has great power. I'll be your devil if you'll admit you're mine

I am starting to wonder if it is possible that i would read every book in the Library of Congress. If i keep going at my current rate, i just might! I saw the mention of Koontz earlier, he is my favorite author of today's world. Then I have to say followed up by a few others now and then. hehe, Hardy Boys books were good. I read all of them! I have to say the list of classics are really good, especially Lovecraft. My favorite author other than Koontz. Lovecraft had a very interesting life too....did a project on his writings biggrin Um...I read anywhere from about 1000 to 6000 words a minute. What about you zz1000zz? I read every book, save for the LAST one I am reading now. I am taking it very slowly as at the moment, and I have read every book in my house. I have over 500 in storage of my own, 800 of me mum's books. All read by me, in less than 4 years. Now, my collection is at 50 in my room, all read, minus the current. -sigh- I need a lot of money for my books.... I knew my old school's library better than the librarians. The town library hated me for the fact I would check out 5 books, and come back 4 days later wanting 5 more. The reason they hated me was I was only 10 and getting "adult books". Anyway. I just saw the talking of books there, had to put my three and a half cents in, and then go back to bed. Guten nacht.

Frankenstein was a great book, but i never liked the movies. Of all the things that came from that book, i think Dean Koontz' Frankenstein books (only two) were the best. It was a nice change on the story, and the books were quite good.
That, or there was this one movie i saw. In it a vampire found Frakenstein and brought him to wherever and stuff like that. I forget the name, but it was quite interesting to see the play between a vampire, Frankenstein, a cop and a werewolf.

I knew how dull you were, so i purposely took all the fun and life out of my posts. You know, to keep you from feeling bad ^^ And sadly Macabre_Cogitation, i cannot really answer about my speed. I never tested just how well i could read. I keep hoping if i do not think about it, it will never be an issue. To be less vague, my reading capability borders on impossible. I read a dictionary once because nobody thought i would (and there was nothing else). The first time through i did not pay much attention so i reread it. The second time through i finished it in 9 hours (it was about 600 pages). The impressive part is that now i can actually remember every word in the dictionary. The problem having such an absurd recall rate is that now i remember so much that i have trouble actually finding the stuff in my head. Screwy, but fun!

I mean, he chopped down a light post with it, but when he fights people they do not die (they just fly ten feet). Bah!

Now i remember! The movie was House of Frakenstein. No real actors, though people who are nerds like me may remember Adrian Pasdar (he is the cop in this) from Top Gun (he was Chipper in it).
I think i may know everything, but just am not able to remember it all.

Ah, I've read my high school edition dictionary. 2500 pages, and finished in two days, while at school. -sigh- Can't remember most definitions, but I recall the words alone. My favorite word, and definition, in the dictionary, is run. I read so fast, that I was told to not read by my english teacher. She handed out The Catcher and the Rye to us to read this year, and I finished it in class, the very day she gave it to us. I told her that, she stared at me, and wouldn't believe I could read that fast until I gave her a condensed verion of the story. When the teacher assigns us reading in class, I can read all of the selected material 3 to 5 times over, before anyone else finishes once. I'm waiting for my sister to finish Angels and Demons, so I can read it. She's been on it for a week now, and I am becoming rather ancy. I could have finished it in 2 days alone.....oh well. Wow. I want to read now, more than sleep. Might as well finish my book now. Bye.

Allthough, if unable to remember any of it you'd have no way of knowing how much you accualy knew. Things that didn't need to be said, but are now anyway because I seem to be rambling. And I shall attempt to find the movie. It has intruiged me. Take your hatered out on me

Oh, and I will agree, Koontz's version of Frankenstein is much better! I am waiting for the third one now...they are really good.
I want to read his new one, The Husband...so, I am going to mow me grandma's lawn today so I can buy it.

While I don't take long to read depending I am no match for what was discribed by Macabre.
I used to be able to read a lot faster, but I seem to effectively get dumber as time passes.
Random: I can not get Destiny's Child to stop playing in my head. This makes me sad.
You're so crazy

As for the rest, meh. I know i know too much. I also know i know some things that i really would be best not knowing. The problem is that i know that i need to know what i know, but i do not know why. And you thought you were rambling. I remember that Truman Capote supposedly had a 94% recall rate. It was said he could read a page one time, then recite it word for word. For me, imagine this. Every time you read something, every time you hear words or music, every time you think a thought, it gets put in a file. The file is in no particular order, and new data is put into it randomly. That is roughly how i believe my brain works. Given enough time, i should be able to recall anything and everything i have ever read. Scary idea really. On the other hand, there is another possibility i have to consider. It is possible i am insane, and i am not really that good.
