Wow, things like that make me angry. Are people too closed minded that they can't think outside their personal gain? Sure you missed a few days of work for nothing, but that's weather, it's predictable to a point. They just need to thank their lucky stars that them or their children didn't die or get hurt this time around.

Thanks Vengence, I want to stay young at heart, no matter what!
I agree, it's better to be safe than sorry. I know there is a sense of panic when there's some kind of emergency, and parents find themselves separated from their kids because they're all the way at work while the kids are at school. Is there anyone who didn't want to hug their kid on 9/11 or when you hear about a school shooting? People around here panicked because it rained so much, it began to flood and it was almost impossible to get to the schools at the end of the day. They even rushed to grab their kids on the day that it snowed here in fear that if it continued, the streets would be impassable. There's never enough money. I'm surely not going to complain about too much time with my kids at home!

We're getting a new president today and we all need to be in prayer for him. I didn't vote for him but he is my president now and I will be praying for him to be safe and do the best job he can do for all the American people.

About one more hour! I didn't vote for him either, but I can't wait to hear his vision for America.

At least at this point, even citizens that didn't vote for him, seem to be supportive. I know I am full of hope... hope for a better America. We have good people, full of heart, but some systems have to change. Oops, there's that word. He did alot of talking. Let's see what he's got.

Wouldn't it be great to live during a time when America's led by a President as great as JFK or Reagan?

Anybody taking the "banana" bet? That would be SO funny if he said it, just to acknowledge the silly word bet going on for his speech... and then anyone who took that long shot would win! rofl

Well, I didn't hear any humor in his speech, but I think it was pretty appropriate. This much we know so far... he makes great speeches. Let's just hope he isn't like Bush or the mayor Ray Nagin, and as soon as he opens his mouth without a planned speech, he sticks his foot in his mouth!

I don't see Mr. Obama having as many problems as Mr. Bush had, he's working with a democratic congress and maybe they'll work better with him. When you have a democratic congress and a republican president things are hard to get passed. The democrats want their agenda and they really don't want the president to succeed. That's where the shame of it all comes in, they don't do what's good for the people it whats good for the party and my agenda, and the people suffer. I think Mr. Bush had some wonderful ideas but they never would give him a chance to change anything. My prayer is that someday we will have people in Washington that will think of the people first and never give the party a thought, that's what our founding fathers did, they worked for the good of the people.
